Whenever I think about the 4th of July, I automatically think of two things red, white, & blue (that's one thing!) AND fireworks! I can't very easily mix fireworks with my paper products to make a fun decor project...so I'm using the next best thing - sparkly sequins!
I simply cut out the letters "U" "S" and "A" from white cardstock with my digital die-cut machine. I painted a layer of liquid glue across the top of each letter and then I simply started lining up sequins on top of the glue:
Ladybug Sequins for the "U":
Lily White Sequins for the "S":
and Blue Jean Sequins for the "A":
Next, I covered some paper mache blocks with various patterned papers from the "Patriotic Parade" collection. I attached the letters to the blocks with foam dots, for just a bit of dimension.
Now I just have to decide how to stack these babies up so I can display them in our home for the next few weeks!
No matter how you stack them, Doodlebug Sequins make a great addition to your patriotic decorations!
VERY COOL blocks Wendy Sue!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE how you have used the sequins ... a great idea that could be applied to many occasions all year through ... maybe even have a different theme on the other side so that you can use them over & over ... I'm thinking of a crafty friend who would LOVE to have some extra BOO :)
THANK YOU for sharing your SUPER SEQUIN INSPIRATION!!!
Thanks for your nice comment, TracyM! If you make a set of "boo" blocks, be sure to share a link with us! :)
