Dragon Tails Collection: Party Decor by Jennifer Beason

Hello, Doodlebug friends. I have really been enjoying all of the Dragon Tails projects the design team has been sharing lately. Haven't you?  This collection is so much fun and as you've seen from the previous projects very versatile.
Before I even received my box of supplies, I knew I wanted to make one of the dragon icons from the collection into a birthday centerpiece. I decided to use the water dragon cutting file, (available at the Silhouette Store and Lori Whitlock's store) to help me create this fun piece.
To make this project I used a mixture of my favorite materials, wood, paper mache, foam board and chipboard. The base of the tail and body are made from paper mache and chipboard. The base for the head, however, was made from wood. This is because the head was top heavy and needed the extra weight to keep it stable.
The bases were all covered with friendly fleet patterned paper and wave borders were cut out of swimming pool cardstock and hip hip hooray paper and applied to the sides.
The dragon den patterned paper was perfect for the body of the dragon and I paired it with some petite prints basics.
A little stitching was also used on each section of the body to add texture, along with coordinating sprinkles.  I added a mini banner to each section, to give the piece a more festive feel.

Letter stickers and die cuts from the odds and ends set were used to create the "Party Time" title.
Well, that's it for me, but be sure to come back tomorrow for more Dragon Tails inspiration.  Jennifer
