This weekend, I decided to make some yummy monster cookies to kick off the Halloween festivities this month. It seemed fitting to get out my Doodlebug goodness and make some Sweet & Spooky containers to hold them. Because the only thing better than a monster cookie is a monster cookie wrapped in Doodlebug!
I used a simple little box cutout made to match the size of my cookies. These measure 3"x3" with a 1" side (If I made them again, I would make them about 1/2' higher to fit two cookies inside). The textured cardstock that coordinates with this collection was the perfect base. And I will actually admit that I stared at the beautiful colours for awhile before diving in - this selection is amazing and vibrant and playful...it was a bit like cracking into a new package of crayons!
I then created little sleeves for the boxes that just slide off using the 12x12 patterned paper as a base.
And then out came the Odds and Ends die cuts for all the fun with embellishing. I didn't have too much space left for adornments like Sprinkles, but I did manage to add a little mini jewel to each of the sentiments from the Chit Chat pack. I love the texture and shine they add - they definitely make the boxes feel more "finished".
I am so glad there is still so much time left this month to craft with this collection. It really does make me smile, and I hope this project brought a little smile to you today too! Thanks for stopping by!
