6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - A RECAP - WINTER WONDERLAND MINI ALBUM | with Jen

We've spent the last few weeks showing you ideas for how to use the new Doodlebug 6x8 Albums. They're so versatile and you have so many options to decorate them!

For my album I did keep it on the simple side to show how easy these are to use to create a one of a kind project with. I used the adorable Snow Much Fun collection with a lilac album.

The albums come in 14 different colors so you have options to match any Doodlebug collection or even non-Doodlebug (but why would you want to do that?)

It's easy to add fun elements like my shaker with the little Yeti peeking out. The heavy chipboard inserts give you lots of options to build your own elements.

On two of the inserts I added a small waterfall. I used the cut-aparts to mat them both. Another fun way to add more photo space to your albums is to add photo flips. On two of the inserts I added a tri-fold photo mat that I tied shut with some Lilac Doodle Twine.

There are 10 pocket protector pages in a few configurations. There are four configurations: four 3x4 pockets, two 4x6 pockets, two 3x4 and one 4x6, and a large 6x8.

You can use them to make smaller versions of traditional layouts, or even add in flaps for additional photo space. All of my embellishments are added to the outside of the page protector. This keeps the page protectors flat and allows you to pop up the embellishments if you would like.

And last, but certainly not least, are the heavy cardstock inserts that match the album color and my favorite, the pocket inserts. The pocket inserts come in a traditional pocket style and a side loading pocket style.

The heavy cardstock inserts are perfect for small layouts. I've added photo mats and Chit Chat or This and That Stickers. Because they coordinate with the albums they also coordinate with any Doodlebug paper collection.

For the pocket inserts the journaling cut-aparts fit perfectly on the side loading pockets. I've turned one of them upside down so my pocket is on the opposite side. The back sides of all the pockets are all perfect for a small layout.

I have a playlist here of my entire album if you want to make your own version.

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - RECAP WINTER WONDERLAND PAGES | with Traci

Hey scrappers! Traci here and today, I'm sharing the final post of my Build a Snowman Mini Album. I'll be sharing my favorite pages, some of the fun elements I created, and recapping all the goodies that come with Doodlebug's new Mini Albums. With one more month of winter, I hope this project gives you a little inspiration for saving this season's memories.

Build A Snowman Winter Scrapbook Album with a snow scene, snowmen, a reindeer, a cabin, and a big polka dot bow

I created this scrapbook with the 6x8 Mini Album in swimming pool and the super cute Winter Wonderland Collection. For all the details on how I designed the cover, click Build A Snowman Album Part 1

Winter scrapbook album page with 2 folding cards, snow, mountains, and a wood cabin

Doodlebug's Mini Albums include so many great features and this first page is one of them. It's 1 of 5 chipboard tabbed dividers and I added pretty patterned papers and 2 flippies to it. These folding cards were made with 3x4 cards and have space inside for 4 photos.

Winter scrapbook album page with a pocket, journaling cards, and snowmen

Another great detail of the Mini Album is that it comes with 4 pocket pages. Some are positioned along the bottom and others along the side. I like to add cards to mine that can be used as photo mats or for journaling, and ... tuck all my special little memorabilia inside.

Winter scrapbook album page with lots of cute animals, snowflakes, and a yeti

The album also has 4 colorful card stock pages like the pistachio polka one above. I folded mine in half to create a fold-out page. Then, I added some cute die cuts and photo mats. For details on the last 3 photos and to see more pages, click Build A Snowman Album Part 2

Winter Scrapbook Album Page with a fold-out element, snowflakes, flowers, and a cute reindeer

I love making mini albums but their smaller size can limit how many pictures and embellishments can be added. So, I incorporate layers that add as much space as possible. In the photo above, I created a fold-out page AND a little deer flippie on the front. Now, this gives you room for 4 pics!

Here is one of the pockets that are along the side of the page. I like that Doodlebug mixed them up a bit. For this one, I covered it with pretty papers and added a tri-fold pull-out card that's loaded with photo mats and cute die cuts.

The album also comes with 10 assorted clear page protectors. Above is one of them and it's divided into two 4x6 inch spaces. I added some colorful prints, enamel shape sprinkles, die-cuts, and ... another flippie! For details on the last 3 photos and to see more pages, click Build A Snowman Album Part 3.

Winter Wonderland Scrapbook Album Page with a fold-out, acetate snowflakes, gems, a pocket, and cute journaling cards

This layout has a bunch of interactive goodies. I created a fold-out page (seen on the left) for a large photo on the front and back. Then, I added some acetate snowflakes and few sparkling mini jewels.

On the right, I created a pocket and tucked more journaling cards inside. Then, I made the front of the pocket a flippie and added the This & That scalloped sticker on top.

Open that flippie, and there's a 2nd pocket inside with two little 3x3 inch square cards. I love the interaction with scrapbook pages. What a fun surprise to open each layer and find sweet photos and handwritten notes.

Here's another one of the colored cardstock pages that are included in the album. I decorated with this one with a few winter die cuts and added another flippie that I made with a 3x4 card. For details on the last 3 photos and to see more pages, click Build A Snowman Album Part 4.

My Build a Snowman Winter Album is complete! I hope I was able to give you some fun layout ideas and you're excited to create your own scrapbook with Doodlebug's 6x8 inch Mini Album. Have a great day! 😊

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - RECAP DECEMBER ALBUM | with Erica

Hello Doodlebug friends! Erica here, and today I'm excited to share more pages from my 6x8 mini album featuring the adorable Tinsel Time collection. I’ve had so much fun putting this album together, and today I’m sharing both completed pages and some brand-new additions!

For one of my favorite pages, I pulled out my trusty border punch and created a textured background by layering punched border strips all along the 6x8 page base. To add a little extra interactive element, I created a fun pocket using two tags from the Tinsel Time collection. By adhering foam adhesive along the sides and bottom of the tags, I made a perfect little spot to tuck in extra journaling tags or photos. A bold title at the bottom completed the page—simple and sweet!

Next, I created a playful spread featuring some adorable cut files. I used a Ho-Ho-Ho cut file, backed it with patterned papers from Tinsel Time, and couldn’t resist adding the cutest snowman in the center of the first “O”. The remaining “O’s” are left open to showcase special holiday photos. On the opposite page, two festive Christmas trees set the scene, complete with photo mats and embellishments like die cuts, stickers, and sprinkles to add extra detail.

Since winter adventures are also a big part of the season, I included a "Bundle Up" themed spread. I found a perfect cut file and backed it with colorful patterned papers from Tinsel Time. To make this page even more interactive, I created a matching page filled with circles that lift up to reveal spots for snowy-day photos or cozy winter journaling.

This album has truly been a joy to create, and I can't wait to fill it with my 2025 holiday memories. I hope these pages inspire you to document your holiday moments creatively with the delightful Tinsel Time collection!

Happy Crafting!

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - RECAP DOODLE-POP STORAGE | with Karen

Okay, I have a confession to make - I do not typically make scrapbook albums. So when I received the new 6x8 album from Doodlebug and was challenged to come up with something to share with you all, I was excited to try something a bit different. From that, the idea of using the product as a sticker album was born and there was no better product to feature inside a sticker than than my favourite Doodle-pops!

Now if we are being real for a minute, this was a project that was actually long overdue! I have Doodle-pops everywhere and this was a really good excuse to get organizing. I did not actually put all of my Doodle-pops in the album - I would need about 20 albums to do that (no, really). So I sorted through them all, picked my favourites and went from there. The idea was that maybe if it wasn't a "favourite" it could go in a box for use on a project while my favourites stay safely in the album. It's a good theory - and while I do have the rest all sorted in a box now, it remains to be seen whether they will get used! :) Here are some of my favourite layouts from the album featuring a few different techniques for putting them in the sleeves:

All the Doodle-pops are removeable so I could, technically, still use them if I ever get he urge. Yeah, not likely, but still possible! :) In a strange way, even though there are no pictures in this album, it is still a little bit of a memory album for me too. Most of my favourites remind me of moments or people in my life that I love. It's funny how it didn't seem like a memory book at first but someone how turned into one anyway! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the pages! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - RECAP - OUR HAPPY FAMILY | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here and I'm back with my final 6x8 Family Mini Album post. I'm sharing a few new pages as well as a recap of everything I've made so far. I will continue adding a few more bits and pieces to this album though! I'm not quite finished with it and I know I'll have more family memories to include. So for now, let's start with two new pages:

We had such a great time at The Gentle Barn and like I said in my last post, the Farmhouse collection is just so perfect for these photos. Here's the first page, I opted to make my page directly onto one of the cardstock pages that are included with the album. I wish my girl was looking at the camera but she was too busy looking at the horses nearby. They're currently one of her favorite animals! This one was an easy page to make. I just layered some paper scraps behind my large photo and embellished using some floral pieces from the Bits and Pieces pack.

The next spread is one of the pocket pages with four 3x4 pockets. I made one of them my title card and included a phrase from the Chit Chat pack and added onto it using the Alphabet Soup Puffy Stickers in white. I also added some Icon and Mini Icon stickers as well as a few more phrase pieces from the Chit Chat pack.

Here's the next couple of pages. I shared these last week.

I also shared these pages last week. So many fun memories!

I added in one of the envelopes from the Cards and Envelopes pack in between two pages I shared a few weeks ago. I can put additional photos, mementos or even some journaling right inside of it.

Behind the envelope is one of the pocket divider pages that are included in the album. I added some patterned paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad right onto it and then included some cut apart pieces from the 12x12 papers. These will be perfect for more journaling or smaller photos that I want to include.

Here are a few more recap photos:

I added in another envelope after the last few pages. These are so easy and fun to make!

And lastly, working a little backward.. I added some ribbon to another one of the cardstock pages from the album, ran it through my sewing machine and then put it behind the shaker page that's at the beginning of this album. Just a little something extra.

And that my friends, wraps up my 6x8 Family Album. Thank you so much for stopping by every other week to see how this album has progressed. I've really enjoyed making it and I hope I've given you some inspiration! Like I've said in prior posts, I don't really make these as often as I'd like, so it's been a real treat to work on a smaller scale and challenge myself in new ways. I'll see you in my next post friends!
