So Much Pun BackPack | with Brigit

Here's a cool 3D backpack project I made decorated with the new So Much Pun Collection. With school starting here soon this would make a great gift for a student or teacher and what makes it that much cuter is this super fun space paper and embellishments. What I love about this collection the most is the versatility, there is definitely something in it for everyone and for all occasions!

This was a fun project to put together, I used the backpack from svgcuts back to school kit and cut it out using my cricut maker. It was hard choosing what paper I was going to use but that little out of this world doodle pop alien with moon and stars won me over, so space it was.

I used perfect combo, and the front and back of far out from the 12 x 12 paper collection. The speech bubble is from the so much pun chit chat pack and the base of the bag is sunshine textured cardstock.

The enamel stars are from the out of this world shape sprinkles pack and I used a blue jean boutique button with some boy twine on the latch.

I'm always looking for ways to use Doodlebug's adorable washi tape and I think the out of this world washi worked perfectly layered on top of the straps.

Hope you enjoyed this project, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Chit Chat Focus | 3D Get Well Soon Gift by Jennifer

Hello, Doodlebug friends. I hope you have all been enjoying the wonderful Chit Chat projects the team has been sharing. I originally had a different project in mind but after a short hospital stay, I was inspired to create a "Get Well Soon" gift using the So Punny collection. Here's what I came up with.
I'm hoping this fun TV and oversized bouquet of pinwheels will lift someone's spirits and show them how much they are loved.
I used a few puns from the Chit Chat set and also made two more to go along with the "get well" theme.
For the last pinwheel, I used the "punny" die cut, also from the set, and added coordinating stickers, doodle pops, and food shaped sprinkles.
The television is a So Punny cutting file. Two silhouettes of the TV were cut out of thin chipboard using my Silhouette machine, then mounted to foam board. I made a foam box to fit in between the two, then the sides were closed up using chipboard.
Once the tv box was made I covered it with patterned paper and cardstock. To give the box more dimension, the knobs, screen border and tv border were cut out of layers of chipboard or foam board.
Here you can see the Soda-lightful Chit Chat close up and of course, I had to give the tv a soda from the odds and ends pack, to drink.
The back of the box is very simple, just a few heart die cuts.
I really wanted to attach the antenna, but with all the pinwheels I couldn't decide on the placement. I decided not to glue it down, but make it an accessory. Once the recipient is feeling better the pinwheels can be removed and the box could be used for storage or as decor. Thanks so much for joining me today. Happy crafting everyone!

So Punny | 3D Telephone by Jennifer

Hello, Doodlebug friends. I'm so excited to be sharing a project I created using the adorable "So Punny." This fun, fresh, collection has a Valentine theme, but can be used for so much more.

This phone is actually a "PHONE-Y"... it's an old clock that I altered. The clock parts were removed, and I created the center dial with chipboard. I added a pun of my own to the center of a round This and That sticker, to keep the pun theme going.

A tiny bow was made using paper from the 6x6 paper pad. And of course, I had to add some glitter sprinkles around the dial.

For the phone-cord, I wrapped some thin wire with white chunky twine and then painted it green.

I really wanted to have fun with this project, so I decided to make it a little more playful by adding a face. The eyes are wood split balls, the mouth painted chipboard, and a matte sprinkle was used for the nose.

I just love the new Chit Chat die cuts, and the "Hello" one fit perfectly here with some tiny heart sprinkles.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Cream & Sugar Collection: Candy Inspiration Projects by Karen Hanson

Hi everyone! It's Karen from ScrappyCanuck Studios and I cannot tell you how excited I am to share my first official project for Doodlebug! Not only is it a dream come true to be able to design for Doodlebug, but as you have seen over the last few posts, this new collection, called Cream & Sugar is just way too much fun work with!

layout-full

Now, I have a confession to make - since my girls were born, I have become huge coffee addict, so when I first opened up this collection, I was a bit obsessed with all the coffee-themed elements. But as I started to work with it, I realized how many non-coffee themes were possible as well. In fact, as I was lying in bed one night thinking about it (probably because I had had too much coffee to drink earlier - oops), the idea of an X and 0 board popped into my head. And this collection is filled with so many great elements that helped me bring that idea to life...

layout-titles

...like XO themed paper and even an adorable die cut in the "Odds and Ends" package...

layout-o

...and even some adorable donut-shaped elements that make the perfect "O" for the board (this one is from the Odds and Ends set, but there are some great Doodle-pops and icon stickers that would work as well)

layout-x

Add a few additional elements like some Skinny CS stickers and some mini paperclips, twine and Sprinkles (because really, a Doodlebug project isn't complete with a Sprinkle or two)...

 layout-angled

...and you have a simple layout with a darling design that is sure to make you smile as much as you are making it as when you see it in an album. Man, I love this collection! In fact, I love it so much that I just couldn't leave this post with just one project...

containers-all

...so I decided to create some fun "Cream" containers (you might know them as mini-milk cartons, but this is the Cream & Sugar collection so work with me one this one).

hot-chocolate-container

tea-container

I created one for each member of my little family - personalizing the die cuts I chose from the Odds and Ends to match the contents of each little container. And while it seems "cute" that each one is a little different, it really has to do with the fact that not one member of my family likes the same things that the other does! Hot chocolate in my house comes with marshmallows for one, cookies for another (because marshmallows are "yucky") and tea and macrons for the other because he happens to prefer tea and is gluten free. The good news is that meant I got to play with different die cuts and just have a totally fun time trying to personalize each little package!

I can't wait to give them to them for Valentine's day!

clips

Ummm and can I just say - how cute are the clips and washi tape that coordinate with this collection??! Even the gluten free container needed to have a donut clip and washi tape on it! So there you have it - a couple of projects made with Doodlebug's amazing Cream and Sugar collection. I hope they brought a smile to your face today. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and kisses, Karen
