HOMETOWN USA JULY 4TH DECORATIONS | with Miguel

Making decorations and small scenarios is something that I really like to do, they can be so useful to decorate any space in a large celebration, from our scrap rooms, a centerpiece or any space.

For this project I used cardboard, cardstock and the beautiful Hometown USA collection creating a beautiful decorated door for this great celebration. I loved the result!

I added more decorative elements such as the Odds & ends and the Star Shaker Pop that is more than perfect as a decoration for this beautiful door.

The door is made with the cardboard technique and here I show you in more detail all the finishes I made to make it look as real as possible.

Thank you! for stopping by, I hope, as always, my work inspires you a lot to create with the beautiful Doodlebug Collections!

I wish you a happy 4th of July see you soon.

HOMETOWN USA SNOW GLOBE | with Jen

I just love the Doodlebug DIY Snow Globe. I have quite a little stash of them in my craft room because I have so many ideas! One idea was to use the clear Doodlebug Acetate to pop things up inside the snow globe. Hometown USA is the perfect collection for this!

First I cut a 4 1/2" circle out of silver glitter cardstock with my Cricut. Then I cut a 3 3/4" circle with the Cricut from the 6x6 firework paper. I cut three 1/4" wide strips of heavyweight acetate.

I lined the acetate strips up over the firework cardstock. I used the cardstock to determine where to bend them first so they were the right width. I then bent them a second time for the height. I varied the height on each strip.

I attached the strips to the back of the cardstock with Scor Tape. I used my powder tool to get the sticky off the back of the large pieces on the July 4th Doodle Pop and then added a small strip of tape to the back and adhered it to my middle strip. I added the stars around it and finally glued two small acetate fireworks from the Bits and Pieces on the upper and lower acetate strips.

I poured my silver shaker balls and Land That I Love shaker mix into the base of the snow snow globe. I then added the back.

I added a strip of the plaid cardstock from the 6x6 pad to the front of the base and one of the word stickers from the This and That sticker sheet on foam squares. I finished it off with some red polka dot ribbon around the outside.

Have a great day!

HOMETOWN USA DECOR STARS | with Niella

Hey crafty crew! We're flying through June with Independence Day not too far away friends! Exciting! I'm picturing family gatherings, picnics, parades, food and a big bang celebration - which ties in to my Hometown USA project today 4.5" Decor Stars! So let's get our decorating all prepped and ready to go! AND there's a BONUS at the end of this blog post ;-)

Each star has three layers with the two top stars stitched onto white 2mm thick foam sheet. The foam helps with depth and dimension but also makes machine stitching a breeze. Have you stitched on foam yet? I love to do this.

This collection is so patriotic and fun! There's a coordinating textured cardstock pack so all the colors have been sorted for you, no need to stress on finding that perfect coordinating base! The papers I've used are (clockwise from top): Picnic Plaid, All Stars, Plaid to be an American, Hometown USA, Red, White & Blue.

These Decor Stars can be used on ALL your projects! Papercrafts, hamper baskets, home decorating, put on dowels for wands, added on your front door, your fridge with a magnet behind it or even as a gift bag topper!

I've put as much fun elements as I possibly could on each! Mini Icons, Sprinkles, This & That and even the odd silver balls from the Shakers! The stitching completes this project with that extra dimension. How cute are all the little kids all dressed up! So dang adorbs!
Remember to gather all the Doodlebug Design Team ideas and have fun creating, we promise you'll be happy you did!

And here's your BONUS! a video showcase :-)

Thank you crafty crew for flying by today! I hope I gave you a crafty hit of inspiration! Don't forget to tag us in on your socials - we're looking forward to seeing your next Doodlebug Design project! Until next time; doodle doo!
