HELLO AGAIN USING 6x6 PAPER ON 12x12 LAYOUTS | With Traci

Hi everyone! Traci here and today I have two colorful 12x12 scrapbook layouts to share with you. My focus was to use paper from the Hello Again 6x6 paper pad in a creative way so that they'd coordinate and each have a unique design. Take a look ...

12x12 Hello Again Scrapbook Layouts by Artsy Albums

For both layouts, I used the 12x12 Patchwork Plaid print as the base. It has all the gorgeous Hello Again colors and the geometric pattern makes for a great background.

12x12 Hello Again Scrapbook Layout with a patchwork heart

On this first page, I added a sheet of lily white card stock. Next, I cut the 6x6 paper into squares (2 3/4"x 2 3/4") and then cut them in half diagonally. I arranged the pieces in a heart shape ... like a quilt pattern!

For embellishments, I added the super cute Bit of Happiness Doodle-pops. I'm loving the metallic gold! I also used some die cuts from the Odds & Ends, Chit Chat, and a few word stickers from the This and That sheet. Finally, I sprinkled around a few gold hearts from the puffy shapes and ... she was complete!

12x12 Hello Again Scrapbook Layout with a grid pattern, butterflies, flowers, and gold hearts

For the second page, I added the petite prints candy stripe & sprinkles in bubblegum and another piece of lily white card stock. I created my favorite grid layout and used the 6x6 pattern paper for my nine 3 1/4 x 3 1/4" squares.

12x12 Hello Again Scrapbook Layout with butterflies, books, and gold hearts

I used lots of goodies on this layout. The books in the photo above are from the icon stickers. The butterflies are from the Odds & Ends. Then, I added the gold puffy hearts and a beautiful gold enamel dot sprinkle.

In another square, I used the globe from the Odds & Ends and added the Love You piece from the Chit Chat on top. And ... more gold enamel dot sprinkles, of course!

I love creating different projects with the Hello Again collection. Such pretty colors, icons, and touches of gold. I hope this collection and these pages inspire you to use your 6x6 paper pads on 12x12 layouts! Happy scrappin'!

SCHOOL DAYS - 12 MONTH DAILY DOODLES CALENDAR | with Traci

I love calendar projects, so I decided to make one for a friend since she just started her first year of teaching. I made a 12x12 calendar page for each month of the school year, decorated them with fun pieces from School Days, and included a 12x12 ClipArt board for hanging the pages in the classroom. Although this makes a fun gift, it would also be a great project to keep track of school activities at home!
I added 2" strips of pattern paper across the top of each calendar, and strips from the "just write" pattern paper across the bottom of each page. I also added some odds & ends and white monthly daily doodle stickers at the top.
The mini icon stickers work perfectly for calendars because the smaller sizes fit into the calendar squares so nicely. That tiny little school bus is SO cute!
Little pattern squares from the 6x6 paper pad, star sprinkles, icon stickers and a few enamel dots all make these pages pop with Doodlebug color!
Finally, I had fun adding some doodle stamps here and there on each page. I love the little art easel ... it'll be a cute place to make notes for that day.
I hope I've given you another fun project idea for using School Days! Until next time ... happy scrapping!

SCHOOL DAYS - WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL TREATS | with Shellye

Whether you're a teacher, student or parent, I have a sweet welcome-back-to-school treat using just a few basic supplies from Doodlebug Design!

For this project, any type of pre-made sack, bag or box can be used.  I've chosen a 2.5" die and cardstock to create this cute mini shopping style bag.  SVG files are also a good place to hunt for cute bags!
After cutting the bags and assembling, I moved to stamping and coloring the images
with alcohol markers. These type of projects are perfect for mixing up your collection of Doodlebug stamps and dies!

The stamped images were embellished with sprinkles and twine.

Inside of the little shopping bags I added clear bags of candy.  What better way to tie off the clear bags than with a twist of washi tape!  To create the "washi twist ties" I used a thin gauge wire (I actually pulled a strand from a piece of wire-edged ribbon) , placed it in the center of the washi tape and then wrapped around.  I also trimmed the washi twist tie to about an 1/4" width.
Again, have fun mixing and matching papers from different collections, as well as stamps to create unique little gifts!

I❤️TRAVEL - HOT AIR BALLOON CARD | with Karen

I remember when I was growing up, our house was underneath a preferred path for hot air balloons. Many spring and fall mornings, they would get so close it would feel like you could reach up and touch them as they went past. And while it would ALWAYS drive the dog crazy, it always left me thinking and wondering about where those people were off too - was this the beginning or end of their journey?
So, today's little card is inspired by that part of my childhood and the adorable new stamp set called "let's getaway" that coordinates with the adorable "i ❤️travel" collection. "Journey" themed cards are a great way to celebrate all sorts of events in life - from graduations to new jobs to moves.
The hot air balloon doodle stamp was coloured up with alcohol markers and then cut out with the convenient coordinating doodle cuts! The sun can also be found in this collection which I happened to pair with a little cloud from the "rainbows and unicorns" doodle stamps.
I placed the stamped image on top of these adorable journaling cards that I cut out of the 6x6 stamp pad. These little journaling cards make the perfect frame for any stamp that you might be using with this collection. Oh, and the mini paperclips are the perfect size to add the cutest little embellishment that you ever will see!
So there you have it - a card that with have you wondering about life's journey without driving the dog crazy! Is there a better way to start the day?!
Thanks for stopping by!

I❤️TRAVEL - PAPER TOTE FILLED WITH GOODIES | with Shellye

Travel in style with this adorable paper tote filled with fun goodies featuring the brand new "I Love Travel" Collection! Inside you'll find old-fashioned board games, cute luggage tags and a mini journal for jotting down memories.

To begin I crafted this simple luggage-style tote from Doodlebug Bon-Bon cardstock.  Here are the measurements for creating the 7" X 4.5" X 1.75" tote:
Cut cardstock to 12"X7".  Score the 12" length at 4.5", 6" and 7.5".  Fold along score lines and then corner round all four corners.  Next make two tabs from the same brown cardstock that measure 2.5"X3.75".  Score the strips at 1" and 2.75".  Attach to the front and back of the piece to create the sides of the tote:

For the front and back I cut two strips of Ladybug cardstock to 3/4" X 4.5"  and adhered them as shown:
The handles were made from a loop of the same 3/4" X 12" Ladybug cardstock. I used large brads to attach the handles.

Next I crafted a couple of "board" games that were laminated so that they could be written on with a dry-erase maker and then easily erased.

Using the sheet of  4X6 journal cards I made this quick and easy booklet:

To create the booklet I scored each journal card approximately 1/4" from the left edge. After prepping a cover from a 8.5"X 6.25" sheet of patterned paper, the cards were attached  along the scored tab.

Finally I used these adorable 3X4 cards and turned them into luggage tags.  The fronts were embellished with enamel shapes and sweet bows.

You can find more ideas for board games and even printables that can be printed onto patterned paper! So whether one is traveling by train, plane or automobile, this cute tote makes a great gift and keepsake!
Thank you for joining me today!
