HOMETOWN USA 8x8 2 PAGE SPREAD | with Conny

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Conny here with the Hometown USA collection. Today, I created a two-page layout for the 8"x8" Storybook Album. I wanted to start filling this album with memories. While 8"x8" is not my usual size, I wanted to give it a try, and I think I loved this process.
I started by cutting two 8"x8" papers in the colors red and white from coordinating textured cardstock pack. Then I cut two pieces measuring 7.5" x 6" from the Plaid to be American paper. I also cut another red piece of cardstock measuring 4" x 7.5". For the photo bases, I used 3"x4" pieces of white cardstock matted on the fireworks side of the Plaid to be American paper. I matted the white cards, leaving a 1/4" inch around the white mat.

On the first page with the red background, I added the 7.5" x 6" piece of Plaid to be American paper at the bottom, leaving about an inch at the top. Then, I laid the piece of cardstock measuring 4" x 7.5", leaving about an inch at the top and bottom of the plaid. After that, I added a scallop strip from the This & That Sticker Sheet along the red cardstock.
I added the "Fireworks" and "July" from the Chit Chat pieces at the top using foam adhesive for dimension and some fireworks from the Odds & Ends around the title. At the bottom, I added two 3"x4" cards, one for a photo and the other for a 3"x4" journaling card. On the second page with the white background, I added the Plaid to be American paper measuring 7.5" x 6" on the right side, leaving space for the chit chat "Summer" on foam adhesive for dimension. Then I added the 3"x4" journaling card, matted the 3"x4" cards, and embellished them with mini icons and icons cardstock stickers. I also added a few chit-chat phrases like "Family Picnic" and "Memories." If you haven't tried these 8"x8" pages, I recommend them. I can't wait to add my new photo for the 4th of July. See you all soon with a mini album using HomeTown USA. Love, Conn

GINGERBREAD KISSES 8X8 STORYBOOK PAGES | with Traci

Hey guys! Traci here and today, I'm sharing my latest 8x8 pages for my granddaughter's monthly scrapbook. If you follow me here at Doodlebug, or over at Artsy Albums, you may have seen the 8x8 Storybook Albums I've created for Rylee. Each month, I make 4 new layouts to highlight our fun moments together. I've just finished my Christmas pages for December and they're filled with the adorable Gingerbread Kisses Collection.

I love this first page. I used the cute 12x12 Hello Santa paper in the background. Then, I made 2 folding cards (aka flippies) for photos & added the December title to one of them using Alphabet Soup stickers in ladybug.

The other 2 spaces are decorative. The little Christmas tree is a die-cut from the Odds & Ends and I added lots of mini jewels to it for the ornaments.

Santa had to make an appearance so, I added the Hello Santa Doodle-pops. He's so cute! I layered him (and the Christmas tree) on top of the Sugar Sprinkles acetate and embellished with more sparkly jewels.

For the second page, I trimmed one of the journaling cards from the Deck the Halls paper and added it to the vertical space on the left. It's perfect for notes, dates, a Christmas list, or ... a memorable story!

The string lights are so fun and colorful and made a perfect photo mat for the top of my flippie. Inside, I added feminine pink hearts with the Berry Floral paper.

Check out the Gingerbread Express truck from the Odds & Ends. With some mini jewels for string lights and a few enamel peppermint candy sprinkles on the tires ... Santa has a fancy new ride!

Rylee and I love baking together so this collection is perfect for us. On this page, I used the colorful Sugarplums paper to make a photo mat and added a few tags from the Season's Greetings print. These are amazing - so many fun ones to choose from!

I embellished with a baking die cut from the Odds & Ends and a few gingerbread puffy stickers. Love these little cookies!

This page has lots of great photo space with 3 mats and a cute little flippie. I made it with a card that I trimmed down from the Holiday Sprinkles print. It's so "merry & bright"!

I hope these pages have given you some fun holiday inspiration. If you'd like to see my other 8x8 monthly pages made with other Doodlebug collections, I have them all linked over on my blog. Have fun with this adorable Gingerbread Kisses Collection!

MY HAPPY PLACE MONTHLY SCRAPBOOK PAGES | with Traci

Hi everyone!  I'm back to share my latest 8x8 pages for Rylee's album!  If you've been following me, you know I'm using an 8x8 Doodlebug Storybook album to document fun moments from each month with my granddaughter.  For June, I used the My Happy Place collection...

To start, I used My Type alpha stickers and a cute pistachio dot pattern for the base.  I also created a pocket so that I could have more space for extra photos ... this is going to be a busy month for us!

I created a "flippie" using one of the cute 3x4 element cards.  I trimmed it down and matted it with a black and white stripe to give it a little pop.  And speaking of pop, how cute is that Home Tweet Home doodle-pops birdcage?!

For my next page, I used a 4x4 pocket page protector.  These are fun!  It's like designing 4 little mini scrapbook pages :)

I added a circle to one square with a 3.5" scallop circle punch.  The cute doodle-pops flowers (called flower garden) fit perfectly in the corner and added a little shine to the page.  See that darling little heart inside the blue flower?  That's from the Home Sweet Home shape sprinkles, and so are the adorable houses on the band below.

One of my favorite color combos is black, lime green, and either dark pink or red, so the next page makes me very happy.

Isn't that succulent paper fun?  It's one of my favorites from the collection!  And there are a few more of those cute sprinkle houses and the itty bitty hearts!

The circle above is from the Bits & Pieces, and "Happy Days" is from the This & That sticker sheet.

Rylee likes to ride her bike from her house to my house so this will be a perfect spot for that picture!  That little lamp post popped up on foam tape just kills me ... so cute!

Another sticker from the This & That sheet was perfect for a few more of those tiny hearts!

I hope my pages have inspired you to get crafty today!  If you want to see my other 8x8 monthly pages, I'll have them all linked over on my blog.  Have fun with My Happy Place!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KIT SWEET SUMMER | with Karen

OOOOOOOOH Ya!!!!! I'm sorry - I didn't mean to start this post by yelling at you, but I am so excited to share today's post with you. I am totally and completely obsessed with Doodlebug's new Shadow Box inserts. And by obsessed, I am talking about "hoard all your Doodle-pops" obsessed. I know you know what I mean.

End-angled

Not only are these inserts filled with all the cute Doodlebug you can imagine, they are incredibly fun to put together. I may have ordered 10 and put together 7 of them the morning I opened them. The only reason I didn't do more is that my daughters stole the other 3 to do themselves. I see the perfect opportunity for a girl's crafting night with this product! Grab your foam adhesive and your favourite friends and you will be laughing and creating in no time - no crafting experience needed. Just follow the templates and voila!

Seagull

I mean, come on!!! The seagulls in the Sweet Summer insert are as cute as it gets.

Cassette-player

And while I may have had to explain what this was to my daughters, feeling old and nostalgic was made fun while crafting with this product.

Album-2

And here's my little tip for you - if you become a hoarder....ummmm, I mean "collector" of these inserts like I have already clearly become, Doodlebug's 8x8 albums are a perfect place to store and admire your inserts while you wait to move them into your shadow boxes for the season. Because you know you are going to want to have one for every season - or maybe every month! :)

CUTE & CRAFTY MONTHLY SCRAPBOOKING PAGES | with Traci

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I'm excited to be on the blog today, sharing a few more pages from my granddaughters 8x8 storybook album.  As a reminder, each month I create 4 pages for Rylee's album that highlight our time together.  I'll link to the other months at the bottom of this post, but today I'm sharing my August pages.

This month I used the Cute & Crafty collection.  It was perfect because we love to do crafts together, and it worked well for everyday pictures and her first day of Pre-K photos! For the title, I used the Sunshine alphas in swimming pool.  I am in love with the adorable
Doodle Pop camera called Oh Snap! and isn't that colorful floral background pretty?

For the next page, I used a divided 4x4 pocket page.  A few pencils, a ruler, and some glue from the odds & ends made cute additions for the 1st day of school page, and a 3x3 bubblegum envelope will hold a journaling tag for her teacher's name and all of the details.

I used My Type alpha stickers for the Pre-K title.  The smaller size is perfect and I love how both upper and lower case are on the sheet!

I used some of the new bits and pieces on this page ... the green tag and the yellow circle add some fun shapes to the overall square design.  I can't wait to add a little picture to the tag!

For my last page, I wanted a space for journaling about the month, and I couldn't resist adding another cute tag from the bits and pieces.  I love that bubblegum gingham check!

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you'd like to see the other months in my album, you can follow the links below.  I just posted July on my blog earlier this week.  You don't want to miss it since I used Doodlebug's adorable Land That I Love collection for those pages!   Happy crafting everyone!

BUFFALO CHECK PETITE PRINTS MONTHLY SCRAPBOOK PAGES | with Traci

Hello sweet friends!  It's been a minute since I shared some pages from Rylee's 8x8 album so I'm excited to give you another peek into my granddaughter's scrapbook today!  As you know, I'm using a 8x8 Doodlebug Storybook album for this project and each month I create 4 pages to highlight my favorite pictures.

I just finished up my pages for May, and this month I decided to use lots of buffalo check petite prints with a little bit of Fairy Garden thrown in for fun.

I combined 4 colors of Buffalo Check/Woodgrain paper (bubblegum, lilac, citrus and swimming pool) with Fairy Garden Odds & Ends, Icon stickers, and Abigail alphas.  Isn't this page colorful?  I'll be adding two photos of Rylee here, each matted with the checked print.

I LOVE the bubblegum wood grain paper ... it goes right along with the tree stump that little miss pixie-cut is sitting on!  Love her!!

For this page, I wanted to mix up the photo sizes (3.5 x 2.5") for interest, so I was able to create a shiny, colorful banner across the top using two die cut banners and lots of glitter sprinkle dots ... love, love, love!!

My final page for May is a pocket page, but instead of just sliding 4x6 photos into the pockets, I decided to create some 4x6 insert cards to hold smaller photos.  Rylee DOES brighten my day ... and so does anything Doodlebug, so I hope you've enjoyed my May pages!  I'll be back later this month with four more pages for June!  Thanks everyone!

FAIRY GARDEN APRIL MEMORIES | with Traci

Hello Doodlebug friends!  If you've been following here at Doodlebug, or over at Artsy Albums, you may have seen the 8x8 album I'm doing for my granddaughter, Rylee.  Each month, I do four 8x8 pages to highlight our fun moments together.  I've finished up my April pages using Fairy Garden and I'm excited to share them with you!

I'm using an 8x8 Doodlebug Storybook album for this project and Sunshine alpha stickers for my titles.  I love the sweet and simple 8x8 size, perfect for a few special memories each month.

Aren't all of the cute little bugs and butterflies adorable?  When Rylee was born, I started calling her my little Doodlebug ... which quickly turned into "Buggy", so these are perfect for her album.

This little fairy on the flower stem is my favorite odds & ends piece (which is hard to choose with 192 pieces in the package)!  Her little pixie cut and headband are precious.  Maybe I should die my hair swimming pool blue!

For this sweet page I included some spaces for 2x2 photos.  I think tiny photos will be cute surrounded by so many pretty patterns!

This little fairy almost looks like she's showing us her biceps!  Cute!  You go girl ... get up on that mushroom and rule the garden!

My last page is a 4x4 pocket page.  I really wanted to highlight my photos on this page so I used some of my favorite patterns for mats.

For the bottom left corner I punched a scallop circle using a 3 1/2" punch (a consistent feature throughout this album) and a 3" circle punch.  A cute journaling tag with chunky twine is a fun piece tucked behind the little pocket.

If you'd like to see the other months of this album, you can hop back over to these links :)

Thanks so much everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful Spring!
