Hand Sanitizer Gift Boxes

Hi Doodlebug friends! Are you all ready for Christmas yet? I sure am!! I got a jump on making some little hand sanitizer gift boxes for my sweet girl to give to a couple of her friends. I found this hand sanitizer flip box cut file on Silhouette Studio but used all of my wonderful Santa Express papers and embellishments to dress them up.

This first one is more girly and it's my fav! May have to keep this one for myself!

Here's a peek inside when it is opened up. The cut file opening is too big for Bath and Body Works' hand sanitizer bottles but a regular bottle from Target or Walmart is a perfect size.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to pick up Santa Express and get to creating those special gifts......they are sure to be a hit with friends and family!

Thankful 4 My Sous Chef Layout

I LOVE the colors in both of these collections and as soon as I saw that beautiful shade of purple I immediately thought of these pictures with my sweet girl in her purple and blue pajamas helping me cook. I had to have a turkey and love how he turned out using the 6x6 pages. The eyes are Beetleblack mini jewels and the nose is from the Bumblebee Arrow Sprinkles package.

Another eye catching title using a couple of the different Doodlebug alphas!

I needed some more embellishments to dress up my layout so I pulled out all of the stickers and Sprinkles from both of the collections and can I just say "WOW!"

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed another example of just how gorgeous both of these lines work together!

Inspired by Project: Pirate Buddies Layout

Hello Doodlebug friends! We are sharing our scraplifted projects this week. I chose one of my scrapbook buddies who I find inspiration from on a daily basis and her name......Monique Liedtke!

The layout that I chose of hers to scraplift is one from last year's Home For The Holidays collection called Snow Fun. Her title work is what really caught my eye! I loved everything from the big title with a smaller title inside to the twirly twine stapled on! Pure perfection! Here is her layout:

And here is my layout called Pirate Buddies. I followed her title work pretty closely but I did add another section of arrows to the right side of my title and left off the banner part of the title.

Here is a close up shot of how I recreated Monique's title.....

Thanks for joining us today! If you are looking for some more inspiration from past and present Doodlebug DT work, just check out the Doodlebug Pinterest page! You'll spend hours delving into all of the wonderful projects created from the Doodlebug girls!!

Color Challenge: Swimming Pool & Blue Jean Projects

We have two awesome projects today, so be sure to scroll down!

Cute Cards with Swimming Pool
by Shellye McDaniel

Hello!  Shellye here with two cards created with one of my favorite colors, "Swimming Pool"!  Each card pulls in various Doodlebug Design products boasting the color;  whether you're using an older or newer collection, it will still match perfectly with any of the Doodlebug staples.

This first card is a compilation of Kraft In Color, Glitter Cardstock, Textured Cardstock and the cloud motif paper found in the Patriotic Parade Collection.

I started with a 6X6 card base and began layering on the different patterned papers.  I die-cut a few clouds from the Swimming Pool Glitter Paper and then used a hot air balloon stencil to emboss a piece of Lily White and Swimming Pool Cardstocks.

I trimmed the entire balloon out from the white paper and only the chevron portion from the swimming pool paper.  I also pulled in some Doodle Twine and Boutique Buttons as embellishments for the balloon.

The butterfly sticker is from a much older Doodlebug collection, but it still matches perfectly!

For this next card I decided to focus on several of the Swimming Pool Washi Tapes that are available!  I cut a piece of cardstock to size and simply added strips of tape to it.

I found the cute Doodle Pop monster in my stash, so I added him to a small piece of cardstock.  The sentiment was actually cut from one of the Simply Put cards...it was just the right size and theme for this card!  I glued it around a piece of a Pixie Stick and then adhered to the card with liquid glue.

Doodle Twine and brads were just the right finishing touches!

Doodlebug Design is known for their bright and cheery colors; I most especially love the fact that Swimming Pool (or Cupcake or Limeade) is still the same today as it was years ago!  What is your go-to Doodlebug color?  I know it's hard to settle on just one, but  try designing a scrapbook page or card with just that color...it's fun to watch the different shades of the color blend together.  Have fun!

Sweet & Sassy Layout

Hello Doodlebug friends! And welcome to another one of Doodlebug's great colors.....Blue Jean! I am a huge fan of each of the Doodlebug colors but blue is my favorite color so I was happy to create this layout with Blue Jean!

Since my daughter's dress has stripes of Limeade and Swimming Pool I thought I would throw in some touches of those colors to compliment my photo.

Here are some close up shots of all the different Blue Jean (along with Limeade and Swimming Pool) embellishments that I added to my layout. I have to say that the sequins are my favorite embellishment to use on my projects!

Thanks for joining us today and I hope you found some type of inspiration from my Sweet & Sassy layout using Blue Jean!

Chevron Cards: Yummy Enough to Eat

Nothing says summer like sweet, juicy watermelon.  With a few basic punches and a circle cutter, watermelon cards come together in a snap.

This sweet watermelon banner card would be perfect for inviting your friends to your next cookout.  I used a piece of kraft paper from the Kraft in Color collection to create the card base and made the banner to adhering glittery watermelon halves to the front of the card.  Not having a party?  Simply replace the sentiment with another friendly greeting.

To make bitty watermelon halves, start by punching and cutting a bunch of circles.  The green circles are 1.5", the white circles are 1 5/16" and the red circles are 1.25".  Don't forget to punch a bunch of seeds from black cardstock.

Using your favorite dry adhesive, layer all of the circles together.  Cut each completed circle in half to create your watermelon slice.  Adhere the seeds to the top with a liquid adhesive.

Using a larger circle cutter and the same layering technique, you can also make larger watermelon cards.  All three of these cards were cut from a single 5.5" layered watermelon circle.  I made the card bases from a white cardstock circle and adhered the watermelon slices to the top.

Happy Summer!

Amanda

Supplies: Doodlebug glitter chevron cardstock, Kraft In Color patterned paper, white cardstock, black cardstock, circle cutter (Martha Stewart), circle punches (EK Success), tear drop punch (Martha Stewart)

Hello, HELLO, hEllO Card
by Aimee Kidd

Hello Doodlebug friends! Aimee with you here today to share two cards that I created using the new Doodlebug chevron sugar coated cardstock.....both with a "Hello" sentiment which is perfect to give for any occasion!

This first card was created by cutting out the word hello several times with my Silhouette. Then I backed each "hello" with a different color of chevron cardstock. I then added a few flower stickers, hello banner sticker, arrow Sprinkles, and some mini jewels. So easy and will brighten anyone's day!

My next card was just as equally easy to create. I used a piece of chevron cardstock for my background, added polka dot and striped pieces of pattern paper, Doodlebug twine, and stickers. Then to highlight the chevron cardstock, I punched out two different size of circles and aligned them onto the bottom piece of cardstock using pop dots. This turned out to be a fun and happy card.

Thanks for joining us today for some inspiration using the gorgeous and fun Doodlebug chevron sugar coated cardstock!

Window Pockets from Doodlebug Treat Bags

Hello Doodlebug friends! Aimee here with you today to show you how to use some of those adorable little treat bags on your layouts! They look great using them as is, but I got creative and cut out some little peek a boo windows.

I have a quick little tutorial to show you how to re-create peek a boo windows for you own layouts or cards!

Slide a die cut inside the treat bag with the cutting surface face up. Hold it in place and up to the light to make sure you have the die cut centered. Sandwich this carefully in your plates and run through your die cut machine.

Since I used nested dies, I easily created the frame using the same die cut and the next size up. Then I jazzed up the treat bags with some Doodlebug twine, stickers, and Sprinkles.

I created some pull out tags which I adhered my pictures to the front....

and added some journaling on the back. Perfect space to say all you need to say!

Here are a couple of close ups to show some of the other fun embellishments I used on my layout which came from the Sugar Shoppe collection.

I hope I've inspired you to get those adorable treat bags out and use them on your layouts! Think outside the box and see what kind of fun creation you can come up with!

Vellum: Rainbow of Colored Vellum Layouts

My Rainbow Girl Layout
 by Jodi Wilton

Hi Doodlebug Fans! Jodi here today to share a fun layout tutorial on using Doodlebug's Sprinkle Vellum.  My favorite thing about Doodlebug's Vellum was of course the wide variety of Doodlebug's Rainbow Colors!  I wanted to use as much color on my layout that I could and keep the main focus on the vellum.  I decided to use six different colors and punched four hearts out of each of six colors I chose:

Next I arranged the hearts along with the three photos I chose on a piece of Lily White Cardstock:

I still thought the layout needed more, so I punched smaller hearts out to adhere on top of the larger hearts. To adhere them I folded the smaller hearts in half and added a small amount of Glossy Accents down the middle of the smaller hearts to give the heart more dimension when adhered to the layout. They should look like this:

After I added all the stickers (from Doodlebug's Spring Collection) and title (Simply Sweet Cardstock Stickers), but kept them to a minimum as I really wanted the Sprinkle Vellum Hearts to shine through on this layout!  Here is the final layout:

And some detailed shots:

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial today, and I hope the happy Doodlebug colors put a smile your face!  Thanks for letting me share my Rainbow Girl with you!

Summertime Vellum Layout
by Aimee Kidd

Hello Doodlebug friends! Aimee here with you today to show you my take on how to use that oh so delicious vellum from Doodlebug! I have this layout of my sweet girl in the pool with rays of colored sunshine. Let me get started explaining how this layout came together!

I used a sunray cut from the Silhouette Studio and saved the middle cuts to use as a guide so I would know where to cut out overlapping pieces of the vellum.

Once I had all of my pieces cut out I started adhering the vellum pieces to the back of my die cut. The entire sunray cut was measured to be 11 1/2". Then I adhered that piece to a sheet of 12 x 12 white cardstock so the vellum colors would shine through.

Once I had the main part of the layout completed I started decorating those beautiful rays of sunshine and around my photos! There are all types of matching embellishments from Doodlebug that were so much fun to use!

I also brought in pieces from other collections that were a perfect match! If you'll look closely you'll see pieces from Fruit Stand, Sugar Shoppe, and Springtime.

In this close up you'll see some of the staples of Doodlebug such as the buttons, Sprinkles, and the new washi tape that I used as additional sun rays!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you are enjoying all of the fun ways to add vellum to all of your scrappy projects!
