Hello Doodlebug fans! Jennifer here with a gift idea for teachers. For this project I used the awesome
Back to School collection, which is just perfect for all of your school related creations.
As you can see I used the collection to make a small desk organizer gift set. Here's how it was done.
- The desk organizer started out as a photo cube, as seen above.
- The lid was removed and the sides of the cube were covered with patterned paper.
- Next the bottom edge of the organizer was then covered with washi tape. Tip: To get a more opaque look the edge was painted white, before adding the tape.
- The square inserts were covered with paper then glued in place. Embellishments were then added.
- To give the inside of the organizer a nice finished look, thin chipboard was used to cover the open areas. Some patterned paper was then used to cover the inside lip.
- Black foam core was then attached to the sides and bottom of the box. Use the foam to make dividers if you wish.
- Now the organizer is complete you can fill it with supplies. To keep everything neat, the pencils and Post Its were wrapped with cardstock and paper then and stuck together. The gift card was placed in a Mini Pocket and attached to the rest of the supplies, as shown.
- I also added a small sign (a sticker attached to a dowel) and personalized it with rub-ons and stickers.
