MY HAPPY PLACE HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOX | with Miguel

Making boxes is one of my favorite crafting activities, since you have the opportunity to make them to your own taste and size. Today I have this beautiful box that I made with the My Happy Place Collection.  This could be a fun gift for someone special on their birthday!

I designed this box to fit one of the cut out card designs from the collection.  I wanted it to be the focus of my project.  I decorated it with shape sprinkles to give light and dimension to the center of the flowers.

I created a fun closure for the box by punching holes in the two flaps, placing an eyelet in each and then I ran a ribbon through them to create a nice bow.

Finally, I used a tag from the collection to place the name of the person who will receive this gift.

Thank you for reading see you soon!

PETITE PRINTS EXPLOSION BOXES | with Stephanie

Hello friends, Stephanie here today sharing two Winter themed Exploding Box cards I made using a few Doodlebug basics.  I used this cut file and my Silhouette machine as well as some Petite Prints and pattern papers to cut the boxes. I used Sunshine Alphabet stickers to create the greetings inside.

Here is an up close look at the boxes before opening them and revealing what’s inside.

For the first box I went with a Birthday theme. I cut a framed scallop circle using Doodlebug’s largest nesting scallop die and a sentiment from the Winter Wonderland Forest Friends stamp set with the cutest Moose (named Bruce) Doodle Pop sticker for the top.

When you remove the lid from the top, the box “explodes” open revealing a Birthday greeting. The digital cut file has four layers to it (plus the lid), so you could go all out decorating each one, but I kept my layers fairly simple. For my first, bottom layer I used a pretty floral pattern from the Winter Wonderland collection with subsequent layers using coordinating petite prints. I wanted my Happy, Happy Birthday message to be part of the main focal point and I used white and pink Sunshine Alphabet stickers for that.

Open the tiny blue envelope in the middle to reveal the cute images and final message inside.

The second box features the cutest yeti and 'Sending Love Your Way' and 'Love You Big Time' messages.

I think these exploding boxes turned out really cute. My daughter suggested putting little treats inside which would be fun too.  Open the box to reveal treats AND happy little greetings. Well, that does it for my project share. As always, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Off The Page Challenge: Fairy Tales Gift Bags by Wendy Sue

Happy Saturday Doodlebug friends! It's Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing the project I created for our team-wide "Off the Page" Challenge!  I love having cards, gift bags, and tags on hand so I can wrap a gift in a fun, unique way at a moment's notice.  I recently took note that my stash of gift bags for girls was getting really low - so I took this opportunity to stock up my stash!  Here's what I created using the darling "Fairy Tales" collection:

Let me show you some of the details!  I used patterned papers, including the 4x4 cards on each bag.  On this one, I really wanted to use those sparkly rainbow sprinkles, they are just too cute!

Don't you agree?

Here's the next bag - I used some cute heart sprinkles in place of the raindrops below the clouds.

Speaking of clouds, I layered several different types and I love how they just pop right off the bag:

And finally, the cutest dang cupcake doodle-pop ever is the star of this bag:

I hope you've been inspired by our team over the last few weeks to take these adorable Doodlebug products to a new level, off the page, and create some fun projects for yourself!  Thanks for popping in - have a great weekend!

Dragon Tails Collection: Birthday Gift Bags and Boxes by Wendy Sue

Hi Doodlebug Friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing some fun birthday gift bags and boxes I created with the new "Dragon Tails" collection!  I just love the combination of dragons and vikings in this collection, and the colors are perfection for boys of all ages!  Here's a look at the set:

And a closer look at each of the pieces.

I purchased the plain blue gift bags at Target - the color is a perfect match for this collection!

And the tissue paper is all Hallmark brand - again, perfectly matching colors!  yay!  And the doodle tape - it's SO perfect on these bags!

The little 4x4 cards are perfect to feature on the front of each bag

Adding odds & ends with foam adhesive squares gives each project a bit of extra dimension.

Isn't this two-toned blue doodle twine the cutest?  I just love it for these birthday boy bags!

For the cute little viking pillow boxes, I used a generic cut file and cut them with my Silhouette Cameo.

Then I die-cut a tag and embellished each tag with odds & ends, stickers, and those DARLING sword-shaped doodle clips!

These are the perfect size for a little bag of candy and a gift card!

So the next time you need a cute collection for a Birthday Boy project, be sure to turn to this darling "Dragon Tails" collection!

Daily Doodles Birthday Reminder Calendar with Tya

Hey there Doodlebug fans - its Tya here with you today and I am so excited to share with you my project featuring the new Daily Doodles line. These calendar pages are so fun and so versatile as you have seen from the other projects my Design Team friends have shown you so far this week. For my project I decided to do a birthday reminder calendar page. Now in my family, birthday's are a big deal. Since both sides of my family live close we get to party a lot and there are a lot of family members to celebrate! What better way to keep track of who's birthday it is than to keep track of it on a customized calendar page.
I had a great time decorating the calendar using oodles of  items from the Sugar Shoppe
and Hip Hip Hooray lines. Between the two lines I was able to get some really fun items on my calendar.
I added a few sprinkles of  sequins here and there on the calendar to make it feel more festive. I used some Simply Sweet letter stickers along with the Months cardstock stickers.
It's so fun to add photos of the birthday person in the squares next to their birthday. I printed out my photos to be about 1 1/2 inches square and mounted them on some textured cardstock.
I wrote in some of the names and I also used some Teensy Type stickers and some Grey Love Letter stickers to spell out the names and the date. They are the perfect size to fit in the squares of the calendar. I also added some glitter sprinkles, regular sprinkles, rhinestones and stars for some extra dimension and bling!
That's all there is to it! I hope I have inspired you today to go pick up a whole years worth of these awesome calendar pages. These would make a great Christmas gift to give grandparents! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!
