GINGERBREAD KISSES HOLIDAY CARD RECIPE | with Karen

Today, I have a little recipe to share with you! It's not the cooking or baking kind though - it's the crafting kind! Because really, crafting blog posts are all about sharing the "yummy" ingredients that come together to make amazing creations. And given that Doodlebug's new Gingerbread Kisses collection is all about baking, it seemed fitting to share my favourite Doodlebug "recipe" in today's post.

  All-3-2

At my core, I am a card maker. I love dabbling in other craft projects, but at the end of the day, creating card brings me relaxation and joy. And while I love experimenting with products on my cards, there are a few Doodlebug "ingredients" I almost always use...sort of like my flour, sugar and butter of the crafting table: 6x6 patterned paper, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat and Bit's and Pieces die cuts, and when available - Cards & Envelopes.

  Odds-and-Ends

Because here's the magic - with each of these products, you have endless combinations. Create a background with the patterned paper and then layer to your hearts content with the die cuts from the different packs. I love using foam adhesive to add more dimension on each level, but for Christmas cards like these ones, I keep it a little less dimensional since they are usually going in the mail. You get to create cute little scenes with adorable sentiments and each card becomes a "one of a kind" creation.

  Mini-jewels

And then top everything off with Sprinkles or Mini-jewels like I did on this card and your yummy masterpiece is complete. Ingredients made simple by Doodlebug!

  All-3-1

While you will definitely find my in the kitchen baking away this season, I can't wait to pull together some more goodies from this recipe as well. After all, like a great cookie, you can never have too many cute cards around! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

LOTS OF LOVE TAG MINI ALBUM | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a little project highlighting the Bits & Pieces ephemera packs. There are similar items in any collection, but I used Lots of Love to make a tag mini album.

I started with the tags from the pack to be the base of the pages of the album.

I used the flowers and tabs from the pack to add layering and details. I popped up the individual pieces with foam tape to create more dimension.

I also used elements from the Odds & Ends ephemera pack and the mini icon stickers for embellishing.

Each tag is one sided which is perfect for adding photos and journaling to the back.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

HAPPY HAUNTING BOX CARDS | with Kathy

I have always loved Halloween... the costumes, the decorations... and let's face it... the candy!  Doodlebug's Halloween Collections have always been among my favorites... and Happy Haunting does not disappoint!  As soon as I saw all the fun patterns and icons, I knew I wanted to make some box cards with scenes featuring all the cute characters!  Take a peek...

One of my favorite things in Happy Haunting is the new Bits & Pieces Pack.  Not only does it have some fun tabs and tags, but it also has a lot of spooky trees and tombstones.  I made these the focus of my first card.  I created a creepy cemetery and of course I could not resist the skeleton hand from the Odds & Ends pack!  I finished it off with a cute owl from the Icon Minis.

My next card features my favorite icon... the little black kitty from the Odds & Ends Pack.  He's hanging out in the pumpkin patch.  There are so many cute jack-o-lanterns in the Odds & Ends pack it was hard to choose!

My last card features on of the many haunted houses in the Odds & Ends pack along with a cute ghost and a spooky tree from the Bits & Pieces.  The acetate fence is from the Odds & Ends pack.  There's a bunch of acetate pieces, they are fun to use!

Have you made anything with the Happy Haunting Collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We always love to see your creations.  Be sure to stop by the blog all month long for more Happy Haunting!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CUTE & CRAFTY CRAFT DAY LAYOUT | with Nathalie

There is nothing more rewarding that to watch little ones discover their creativity.  My niece loves to draw and doodle, especially when she can get a hold of my supplies. The Cute & Crafty collection is perfect to document those memories in  a fun colorful way.

I started with the  Cute & Crafty paper for the base of my page.  Then added a piece of  Colorful Canvas at the center of the base.  Finally, I added a 5" strip of white cardstock to serve as the anchor for the page.

I used the 6x6 paper pad to back the pictures, and then set them on the center of the page. The fun was embellishing the page with all the Odds and Ends pieces and stickers.

I just used the line of  the cardstock to add all my embellishments on a row.   The new Bits and Pieces are a just perfect to add a journaling spot to the page while helping add more interest to it.

For my title, I dove into the Chit Chat pack for a few of the last pieces.  Then just added a few sprinkles around the page.

I love how this turned out, and how easy it came together. Now, it is time to clean the desk, and get ready for the next Doodlebug collection.  'til next time ...

CUTE & CRAFTY - BEST MEMORIES EVER LAYOUT | with Nathalie

Who is loving the versatility of the Cute & Crafty collection?  I just love how easy you can transform this collection  into a vibrant, colorful page that  is not related to crafts.  Let me show you...

This time, my choice was to play with the papers in the collection and one of the  Borders & Edges die set to create a rainbow for my page.

I used the die to create the scalloped borders from the 6x6 rainbow stripe paper, then created 4 more stripes of each color in the stripe.  These are glued together to the page to create a vertical scalloped edge rainbow background.

I am placing the photo at the top left corner of the page.  This is surrounded by 3x4 cut apart cards, bits and pieces, and chit chat pieces.

I placed my title at the bottom right corner of the scalloped background.   I am using Chit Chat pieces to create the title.  Then  adding  a few more embellishments to bulk up the title, so that it balances the page.

Just love how easy it was to transform a crafty collection into this page.   Remember to share your project ideas with us, we love to see how you use the collections!

CUTE & CRAFTY HELLO HAPPY GIRLS LAYOUT | with Nathalie

We all are loving the new Cute & Crafty collection!  I cannot get enough of the new bits and pieces pack.  It is probably one of my most favorite add-ons, as it is so versatile.   I used many of the pieces along with more of the collection in this summer vacation layout...

I am a tag fanatic, so I set a group of them on a row on a Swiss Dot Petite Print, then built the layout around them.

I backed the pictures with the rainbow stripe paper from the 6x6 paper pad.   Once set on the background, it was all about adding a rainbow of embellishments.   Since there is no yellow tag, I chose a circle element and tucked it in between the photos and created a cluster of embellishments around it.

There is no better way to create impact on a page than to color block your embellishments. Even better when you can create a small rainbow.  I just love how all the tags and coordinating flowers just flow behind the photos.

For the title, I mixed Chit Chat pieces with a few die-cut letters. The Alex alphabet die set was just the perfect font for the title work.  A few extra pops of color / enamel dots complete the page.

I love how this turned out, and the versatility of the Cute & Crafty collection.  I cannot wait to see what you create with it!  XO

CUTE & CRAFTY NOTEBOOK MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

I have fallen deeply and madly in love with all of the adorable icons in the Cute & Crafty Collection.  They are just so sweet!  One of my favorites is the little notebook... that cute smile is just fabulous! I decided to make a mini book using it as my inspiration.  Take a peek...

I started with the Cute & Crafty Notebook SVG file, and edited it to take out the spirals so I could add my own using my binding tool.  Once I had the cover, I set to filling my book. For my pages, I used the Cute & Crafty Coordinating Petite prints pack.  If you're not familiar, these packs are full of fun tone on tone prints that work perfectly with the collection.

I wanted to make this a more "all purpose" mini, where my previous 2 books were "scrapbooking" focused.  The Bits & Pieces were the perfect solution. I just love all the pieces in this pack!  Lots of flowers, tabs, labels.  So much to work with!  I also used some of the cut-aparts from the Happy Thoughts Cardstock, Chit Chat pieces and Odds & Ends.

I could not resist using some of the buttons from the Odds & Ends Pack... they just make me smile!  Also the big words from the Chit Chat pack are a fun way to embellish a page.

I really had fun putting this one together!  Have you created any projects using Cute & Crafty?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram.  We always love to see what you create.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CUTE & CRAFTY EAT-SLEEP-CRAFT-REPEAT LAYOUT | with Lisa

Who loves rainbow layouts? :)  I think we all do, right? The new Cute & Crafty collection is not only perfect to document your crafty memories, but also has the most perfect rainbow colors ever. One of the patterned papers especially caught my eye and I absolutely wanted to use it for my next layout...

This rainbow paper is just so pretty and I wanted to create a pretty layout with it. I always like these striped papers and mostly I use them in a horizontal direction. For this one, I wanted to change it and used it vertically. I cut off one of the colors (sadly...;)) and the borders to have a square page and adhered it to a white paper and one of the floral patterned papers to create a beautiful frame.
Then I stitched around it.

To give my rainbow stripes more texture, I stitched a lot of tight zig-zag lines horizontally and vertically, with white thread. Then I took my gelatos and a baby wipe and added some color, to deepen some areas on the paper. It colored the thread as well and this gave the background even more interest.

I went through the Bits & Pieces die cuts and chose the flowers I wanted to use. I placed them on the layout until I was happy with the result. I matted my photo with different patterned papers and adhered it to the background using foam tape.

Then I attached all of the flowers, after distressing the edges, using liquid glue for some and foam squares for others. For the title, I used one of the die cut words and alpha stickers in gold and pink.

From the Odds & Ends die cut pieces, I used five embroidery thread spools in different colors and adhered them to the matching colored stripes. I embellished the flowers with jewels and enamel dots and also used some other little embellishments to finish the page.
I added gold splatters at the end and that was it. I love how colorful and bright the layout is and I love to work with this collection!! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

CUTE & CRAFTY EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH FRIENDS LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica with you today with a fun 12x12 scrapbook layout using the Cute and Crafty collection. For today's layout I really wanted to focus on the Craft in Color 12x12 pattern paper. This is one of my favorite papers and I thought it would be great to highlight it on my page.

I started by cutting the strips of color from the Craft in Color 12x12 paper. I then used one of my large paper punches to punch out the strips.

Next I took my Catherine Pooler inks and created strips of watercolor across my white cardstock. I knew a lot of this color was going to be covered up but I love that the color can be seen peeking out from the punched strips.

I adhered the punched strips to the background and ruffled up the ends just a little bit for some dimension. The Cute & Crafty collection is perfect to document more than just your scrappy adventures! I wanted to document a girls day with one of my besties! We went to a Sip & Shop and had so much fun! They had a fun backdrop set up so we snapped a photo!

To embellish around the page I used a some florals from the Cute and Crafty Bits & Pieces! I love this die cut pack so much! I created some floral clusters around the page trying to match the colors in the punched border strips!

For my title I used one of the large stickers from the 12x12 Cute and Crafty cardstock stickers and trimmed around the words with my scissors. I pulled out a couple packs of sprinkles to add around the page and to some of the floral centers! I just love how colorful this page turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my layout using the Cute and Crafty collection.
