Doodlebug Design Silhouette Cut Files: Halloween Banner by Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with some fabulous news... Doodlebug Design
now has the most ADORABLE cut files in the Silhouette Design Store!
Words cannot express how excited I am!!!  I was lucky enough to get to play with them in advance of their release.  I used the files from the Boos & Brews collection to create a fun Halloween Banner.  Take a peek...
I had such a fun time putting these together!  I used papers from Boos & Brews Collection as well as some new Gingham-Linen Petite Prints .  Here are some close ups of each of the banner pieces along with photos showing how to piece the cut files together...

I added some Sprinkles to many of the files to give the files some more dimension and tied the whole banner together with some Beetle Black Chunky Twine.  I can't wait to send this banner to my daughter to decorate her dorm room!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek.

Doodlebug Design Silhouette Cut Files: Not So Spooky Layout by Christine

How amazing have the projects been this week with the new Doodlebug Cut Files!?!  Our team is loving them and we know you will too!
Christine joining you today with a Boos & Brews project!

One of my go to things for my Silhouette is cutting BIG pieces.  Today I am going to show how I did just that with the Doodlebug Jar of Eyes File!

The Jar of Eyes Cut File is easy to work with and comes in several pieces.
I made mine nearly 10 inches tall and used a base piece to build it on.

You could stop right here and have a jar that would work for any occasion!  All I have done is attached the lid and the jar body to the base.

Because I was going for a Halloween layout - I kept going and used nearly all the pieces that come in the file.  I chose to cut some parts in patterned paper - adding some interest to the file.  As you can see I also outlined my pieces - you could add ink to the edges or outline.  I just like the extra pop that adds to a file!

I used all the cut file pieces for the eyeballs except for the last small circle.  Instead of using that I added black matte sprinkles.

I placed the eyeballs on the jar and then surrounded them with more eyeballs and circular pictures.

I also cut out my title in a big size.  These titles are going to be very handy when you want to make a big bold statement!  I cut mine at about 7 inches wide!

I cut each letter in a different color and then added eyeballs from the Odds & Ends for Boos and Brews because it fit so perfectly!

I can't wait to dive in to play with even more of the cut files.
Doodlebug just opened up a whole extra world of Doodlebug fun!

Doodlebug Design Silhouette Cut Files: Spooky Cards by Courtney

I have been BURSTING to tell you all that Doodlebug is now making cut files!!!!

This is Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here and I made these awesome shaped cards with the new Boos & Brew cut files! They are SO much fun and I am so thrilled that I can cut these awesome critters again and again!!!
Here is my biggest boast for doodlebug cut files (and if you know me, you know that I use cut files 99% of the time... in other words I have cut a lot from a lot of different companies.): doodlebug ROCKED the depth of the cuts. They took the time to put a whole character together and everything has amazing detail. It makes it so easy because you just have to pick the papers and add foam dimension. ... scroll down to the haunted house to see what I mean a little easier.

They also made the layering on these excellent. They worked from back to front so there is always an outline of the full cut to build on. YES!!!

Okay, seriously... how cute are these cut files... I'm dying over here!!! :)

I zig zag stitched around the pumpkin and I grabbed an old happy Halloween sentiment sticker from doodlebug and curved it around the pumpkin. perfect.

Check out the spider in Igor's hair!?! I used some googly eyes on the frog. I thought it made him look a little dorkier. :) And I added a matte sprinkle as a wart. ;) The petite prints were perfect for the froggy elements.

Here is what it looked like all done and you can see the shaped card background. :)

Recipe:
doodlebug: boos and brews: frankie's lab (5379)
doodlebug: boos and brews: spooky spiders (5380)
doodlebug: boos and brews: sprinkle shapes: spooky spiders (5318)
doodlebug: swiss dot 6x6 paper pad (5449) (orange shirt)
doodlebug: petite prints: grasshopper gingham linen (5435)
doodlebug: petite prints: citrus gingham linen (5433)

Oh Doc, you had me at hello. I am married to a total nerd and I love it. This guy.. ahh!

If I could have fit a little pocket protecter on this guy I would have but an eyeball in the middle of his bow tie was the perfect touch. I added a matte sprinkle to his hands for emphasis and dimension and my favorite addition was the two different sized googly eyes.

This eyeball jar is SO much fun. from the bubbles to the colors, doodlebug ROCKED the depth of this cut.

My final shaped card for you today is this AWESOME haunted house, Frank, and his bride.

I LOVE doodlebug's haunted houses. I look forward to them with every halloween release. So I was SO excited to use this cut and add some sloppy stitching to make it feel really run down and patched together.

I also skewed the windows (because you can do that with a cut file!!! :)) and added some fun elements.

Did you see the eyeball as the ball on the top of the spire? And of course frank needed a doodle-pop bat in his belfry (I know I know, there are no bells up there but still... )

recipe:
doodlebug: petite prints: citrus gingham linen (5433)
doodlebug: mini pearls: lilac (3349)

I really hope you had SUCH a great time checking out this Boos and Brews cut file projects!!! Now hop on over to the Silhouette store and pick them up! ahh!!! SOOOO much fun!!! :)

Boos & Brews Collection: Spooky Layout by Melinda

Hello everyone, it's Melinda with you today and for the first time ever... and I really mean ever, I get to do a Halloween layout using an actual Halloween photo. You see, living on a farm in Australia which doesn't officially celebrate the Halloween holiday, we don't do anything for Oct 31. That was until my teenager and her friends decided they would dress up and have a bit of fun, much to my delight.

I was super excited to get my hands on the Boos & Brews collection this year as I had something to scrap. Albeit, a skeleton face, but hey, who's complaining. I chose to do the photo in black and white so it really stood out from the traditional colours of the collection.

I was Very relieved to have found some white letters in my Doodlebug rub-on collection. I don't know where I would be without them for journaling, especially on black. I also decided that I couldn't go past doing a small amount of collage work on the layout so chose to map out the letters of the word 'eek'. Which fitted perfectly with the picture of my daughter's face.

Just look at the cute little Doodle-Pop spider. There are actually four little Doodle-Pops in this one packet including two wee spiders and the little froggy I used inside the word 'eek' and a fun little bat. I didn't have room for him this time but he will be on a card very soon.

And if you are wondering which paper I have used, it's from the brand new Petite Prints collection and this side is called 'Linen' which is my absolute new favourite.

I just love the new paint splat shapes in this collection so had to use as many as I could fit within the lettering.

So that's it for our Boos & Brews inspiration. We hope you have enjoyed all the wonderful projects from the design team and look forward to spying your work around social media in the near future. Halloween is not that far away so good luck working on those costumes!
