SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS SPECIAL DELIVERY & BUNDLE OF JOY | with Kathy

There's not much more special than a new baby... unless it's two new babies!  My cousin and his wife are expecting twins... a boy and a girl!  We are all so excited for them!  Of course, as soon as I saw the new Shadowbox Insert Kits for Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy I knew I had the perfect gift for the new parents!  I set to work immediately!  Take a peek....

Some close-ups....

These insert kits are super easy and fun to put together.  They come with all of the stickers, jewels and sprinkles you need, along with a fabulous guide.  You just need to add some pop-dots and foam strips.  I love the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares and 3D foam Strips.  They are the perfect size and width for some of the more delicate stickers.

To start, you will want to trim the included vellum piece to be 8"x 8".  Then using washi tape (or very low tack tape) center the vellum over the template and secure.  Now for the fun part, embellish! I find it easiest to start with the jewels.

Next I add the shaped sprinkles which are noted on the template with an "S".  If there's an X with the S, it means to use a foam dot on that sprinkle to pop it up.

Once the sprinkles were done, I added the stickers.  Some stickers are flat while others are popped up... as indicated by an X on the template.  I find it easiest to do all the flat stickers first, then the popped up ones.

This is where the thin pop up strips come in handy.  They can be cut to fit the smallest pieces. Of course you can use any type of foam tape or pop dots.

Once you've got all the stickers done, just check to make sure you haven't missed any spaces.

The kit also comes with a piece of white cardstock to back the vellum.  I trimmed that to be 8"x 8", and added it behind the vellum in the frame.  You can also use patterned paper if you prefer.

These shadowboxes were a big hit with the parents to be... I can't wait to see them in the nursery!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

SWEET BABY CARDS | with Karen

My daughters are almost preteens now (I know, the TEEN years are coming....ahhhhh), so when Doodlebug released Bundle of Joy and Special Delivery I wasn't sure how many projects I would use them for! But I have to tell you that I have been totally enamored with these collections since they arrived. My card box is filled with adorable cards to give away to families expecting their bundles of joy...and really, I have at least 4 other projects planned.

Because really, how cute are these babies?!!

I love the simplicity of being able to colour up an image, like this one from Special Delivery, and use the coordinating Doodle Cuts for a fast process! With all of the cute details in the paper and the help of some Shape Sprinkles, it can be as easy as that!

Or, if you want to spend a bit of extra quality time with these babies, there are so many cute shapes that you can use to create a little scene. I simply added a couple of hearts to the baby carriage for some background fun...

...or even do some masking and have some fun layered stamp image like I did with this cute little gal and some of the fun florals and extras in the Bundle of Joy stamp set. Every card will be different, but sure to bring a smile to your face!

So whether you have tiny people in your life or not, these two collections are keepers! They definitely put the cute and fun into crafting projects!

Thanks for stopping by!

BUNDLE OF JOY CARDS | with Tya

Hi there! I'm back today with my next set of handmade cards. I decided to again challenge myself to create 10 cards using Card Maps sketches to create them. I gotta say, designing these cards was so quick and easy because all of the guesswork was done for me in the sketch! This time I used the adorable "Bundle of Joy" collection and had so much fun creating these!

Here are the card sketches these are based on. You can find these on the PageMaps website - here is the link to the pdf: January 2019 CardMaps

So there are (2) 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch square cards, the other eight cards are all A2 size - which is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. They all have a white cardstock card base.  I used mainly the 6x6 paper pad for my pattern paper, with the exception of the green plaid. I also used the super fun journaling cards paper - it is called "Showered with Love. I also used some Doodlepops, Chit Chat, and Odds, and Ends Die-Cuts and lots of different embellishments to decorate the cards. Here are close-ups of each of the cards:

These were so much fun to put together and now I have a great stash of cards that I can pull out any time I need a baby girl card for a shower gift or a congratulations card. I like making batches of cards like I did with this collection to just keep on hand! I hope I have inspired you to create some cute baby girl themed cards with this super sweet collection as well! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Crafting Friends!

BABY GIRL DRESS MINI ALBUM | with Traci

Hello everyone! If you'll remember, last month I created a Baby Boy Bear mini album for one of my projects. So this month, I created an adorable Baby Girl Dress mini album. It's full of pink & yellow and all things girly!

For the cover I used my Silhouette machine and a Doodlebug cutting file called Bundle of Joy Clothes #1. For the dress I used pink gingham paper called Cupcake from the Petite Prints Gingham & Linen 12x12 pack. The colorful striped paper used on the ruffle, collar & trim was from the Bundle of Joy 6x6 paper pack. I added a few of my favorite little enamel dots for the buttons and boom ... cutie patootie dress cover!

The "Showered with Love" hearts paper I used on this page make the perfect background. I used a Marvey Uchida 3.5” scallop circle punch for the center mat to show off a sweet pic and that adorable baby with pig tails is from the odds and ends.

I used that same scallop circle punch on each page of the album & I think it's perfect to highlight your photos and the adorable odds and ends from this collection. The yellow stars paper (Sweet Dreams) is beautiful next to the colorful plaid (Blankie).

I added lots of fun little sayings like Tiny Fingers Tiny Toes, Hello Baby Girl, Sweet Dreams and Hello Sunshine from the Bundle of Joy chit chat.

This is the perfect page for a photo of your little sweetie sleeping peacefully. I used some stars from the shape sprinkles to add a bit of shine and dimension and a moon from the odds and ends.

I adore the polka dot paper (Cute As A Button) on this page and the curious looking green frog. Love the little grin!

This Bundle of Joy collection is so, so pretty! If you want something a bit more masculine & missed my Baby Bear album that uses the Doodlebug Special Delivery collection you can check out that post HERE

I hope this mini album inspires you to create a keepsake for your own to save your wonderful baby photos. Happy scrappin'!

NURSERY FRIENDS DOODLE STAMPS CARDS | with Karen

When Doodlebug released their two new baby collections, I was obsessed with the little baby characters. I mean, those little cuties make me want to pinch some serious cheeks. But the glorious thing about these collections is that there is so much other cuteness in there too - in the adorable animal characters in both collections! So, for this project, I decided to feature all the cute animals you can find in the Toy Box and Nursery Friends stamp sets.

The variety of cute characters in this collection is simply outstanding! And with matching Doodle Cuts to making cutting them out a breeze, pulling together a card for a little person in your life is easy-peasy!

I grabbed some of the Petite Prints in different gray patterns to compliment the papers and patterns I chose from the 6X6 stack...

...coloured up the stamps with some alcohol markers and topped everything off with some of the great shapes from the Chit Chat and Odds & Ends die cut packs that coordinate with the collection. These pieces are perfect for sentiments and to balance out the stamps a bit, adding a bit of extra texture and dimension.

At the end of the day, these little animal friends make great baby and toddler cards, but I also can't wait to use them for some other cute cards in the near future! Stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by!

BABY GIFT SETS | with Stephanie

Hello Doodlebug friends!  I am sharing another project today, again featuring both of the baby collections Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy. I have had so much fun creating cards and gift bags using these sweet little baby icons. For both cards and bags I used lots of Doodle Pop dimensional stickers as my focal point.  Here’s a look at the Special Delivery set:
The little critters are the cutest and of course steal the show, but the bag itself is a cut file I found at the Silhouette Design Store here.  I chose several 12 x12 pattern papers as well as matching petite prints to cut the different sections of the bag including the handles and pockets.  It has 3 pockets on the front and sides just large enough to put something small in each one.

Here’s a closer look at all the little goodies I was able to fit inside my 'diaper bag.’  All of the products are trial size and came in a box set which were a perfect fit for my bag.
And if I make make something using one collection it’s hard for me not to recreate something similar using the other collection.  So here’s my diaper bag and card using Bundle of Joy.

And finally here’s a little closer look at my cards.  I love using Doodle Pop stickers for cards, because let’s face it, they do all the hard work of making my projects “pop!”

For the base of the cards I used Doodlebug's assortment of card and envelope kits then layered two square and two circle die cut layers using 6x6 pattern papers.  The Welcome to the World sentiment comes from the 12x12 This and That Cardstock sticker sheet.

I think these make the sweetest cards and gifts to take to new parents complete with a little creative love and lots of Doodlebug cuteness!
