GINGERBREAD KISSES HOLIDAY CARD RECIPE | with Karen

Today, I have a little recipe to share with you! It's not the cooking or baking kind though - it's the crafting kind! Because really, crafting blog posts are all about sharing the "yummy" ingredients that come together to make amazing creations. And given that Doodlebug's new Gingerbread Kisses collection is all about baking, it seemed fitting to share my favourite Doodlebug "recipe" in today's post.

  All-3-2

At my core, I am a card maker. I love dabbling in other craft projects, but at the end of the day, creating card brings me relaxation and joy. And while I love experimenting with products on my cards, there are a few Doodlebug "ingredients" I almost always use...sort of like my flour, sugar and butter of the crafting table: 6x6 patterned paper, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat and Bit's and Pieces die cuts, and when available - Cards & Envelopes.

  Odds-and-Ends

Because here's the magic - with each of these products, you have endless combinations. Create a background with the patterned paper and then layer to your hearts content with the die cuts from the different packs. I love using foam adhesive to add more dimension on each level, but for Christmas cards like these ones, I keep it a little less dimensional since they are usually going in the mail. You get to create cute little scenes with adorable sentiments and each card becomes a "one of a kind" creation.

  Mini-jewels

And then top everything off with Sprinkles or Mini-jewels like I did on this card and your yummy masterpiece is complete. Ingredients made simple by Doodlebug!

  All-3-1

While you will definitely find my in the kitchen baking away this season, I can't wait to pull together some more goodies from this recipe as well. After all, like a great cookie, you can never have too many cute cards around! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

CANDY CANE LANE CHRISTMAS CARDS | with Karen

It's Christmas card season! This is the time of the year that I spend a few days cursing the fact that I have put off making my Christmas cards so long, and then transform into the happy crafter as I pull out my new Doodlebug collection and get to it. Because nothing can ruin a crafting mood, even a time crunch, when you have Doodlebug to work with!

All-three-2

And the new Candy Cane Lane collection does not disappoint. This collection is filled with the most amazing icons and cute characters that are perfect for card crafting. You can create cute outdoor scenes with houses and adorable vehicles, and inside scenes feature Santa, plants and furniture. It's like you have stepped inside "Santa's village", only cuter!

Outside-closeup-card

For this first set of cards, I decided to use the Odds &Ends pack to see what I could create. There are so many shapes to work with that you can layer to your heart's content. Add a little foam adhesive for some dimension and you have a set of adorable cards that are still mailable!

Inside-card

And don't worry - if you over-do-it with the cute images on the front (really, is that even possible??!!) you can always add a sentiment on the inside with one of the Chit Chat pieces! I actually love the way these banner pieces add some character to the inside of the card too. The card bases I used are all from the coordinating Cards & Envelopes - Christmas assortment.

All-three-1

Now the only problem I have is that I am still putting off my crafty projects as I spend time flipping through everything admiring all the details and deciding what to hoard...I mean "collect"...I mean "store for later use." The life of a crafter is hard! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

BAR-B-CUTE CLEAN & SIMPLE CARDS | with Kathy

Although most of my projects are 3D, or more involved, I do have a love for clean and simple cards.  Clean and Simple cards are uncluttered, lots of white space with one main focal point.  Doodlebug's Odds & Ends along with the Chit Chat Pieces are the perfect combination to make this type of card.  I used the new Bar-B-Cute Collection to make a few...take a peek...

These cards really went together in a flash.  I die-cut some rectangles from white cardstock and a slightly larger rectangle from the Bar-B-Cute 6x6 Pad and layered onto a card base for each card.  All that was left was to add the Odds & Ends and a coordinating Chit Chat Sentiment.  I popped them up with some foam tape because.. well I needed some dimension lol.  Here are some close ups...

There are so many great combinations of Odds & Ends and Chit Chat pieces .  You could make dozens of cards with them along with some patterned paper.  It would make such a fun gift to package them all together with some envelopes!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

WCMD 2019 - MAKING LITTLE SCENES ON YOUR CARDS with TYA
This card is created using the Tangerine A6 Paisley card base from the Create-a-Cards. I love making little scenes with stickers and die cuts! Good times for sure! That cute polka dot paper along the bottom is called "Ring Toss" - and I think it is the perfect little pop of color to compliment the bright orange top portion of the card base.
The scene on this card is made by adding 2 of the starburst die cuts from the "Odds and Ends" die cuts. They are added right to the card base. I then added the circus tent die cut also from the "Odds and Ends" die cuts to the center of the card base with some foam tape. The little costumed kiddos are from the Icon Sticker Sheet as well as the pumpkins and spider. The "Spook-tacular" title is from the "Chit Chat" die cuts. It is also added to the card with some foam tape. I also added a couple of pink "Halloween Night" Shaped Sprinkles for a little shimmer.

I❤️TRAVEL MINI ALBUM | with Traci

I have had so much fun playing with the I❤️TRAVEL collection this summer! I've created books for a cruise, a road trip, and another vacation, but I needed a smaller album for a trip I have coming up in a few weeks. This one will be perfect.
I'm headed to Aruba this month, and since I have been several times, I won't be taking as many pictures as I did the first few trips.  This smaller album (by Prima) is the perfect size because I can get about 25 photos tucked in around these adorable embellishments.
Seriously, how cute is that little camera!!
I used  6x6 paper for this album, and I love the tiny little cards on one of the sheets.  I cut them up and added them across the bottom of a pocket.  CUTE!!
You'll see lots of dot/stripe petite prints throughout this album too.  The fact that I can easily match these prints to every Doodlebug collection just makes me so happy!
There are some more of those precious little cards on this folding page.
You know me ... I sneak chunky twine into every project somehow! That adorable tag is from the Odds & Ends Travel Tag package ... love these! I always get the question, is this available as a kit in your Etsy shop and for this one I can happily tell you yes!  You can get all the details on my blog over at Artsy Albums.   Thank you for letting me share with you today!

I❤️TRAVEL LAYOUT | with Caroli

I really love to travel, I try to do it as often as possible and I enjoy every minute of a trip. Said this, I ❤️Travel collection is simply perfect for documenting all these travel photos! I love the colors and all the travel concept of this collection.

Last year I had the luck of traveling abroad few times and of course I took a lot of photos, so I decided to use this one from the time I went to Montevideo, Uruguay.

I went for a really simple design, with a light patterned paper as bad and a blank space filled with embellishment. I love this kind of composition because although its filled with stuff it still looks clean and simple.

Of course I loved all the embellishments of this collection, so I used plenty of diecuts from the Odds & Ends and the Chit Chat packages. This time also used some stamps here and there too, just to add an extra detail to the composition.
I love the new product include in this collection, the Chit Chat Travel Tags! These tags are gorgeous and perfect to be used as journaling spot. I use one of them with this purpose, love the result.

Since the photo included the name of the city, somehow it was the title of the layout, so I decided to include the name of the country to finish the title idea. I used green Abigail aha for this.

I hope you like this idea, and if you give it a try don't forget to tag me on instagram (@papelisima) or leave me a message here. Thank you for stopping by today!

SCHOOL DAYS - FIRST DAY OF KINDER LAYOUT | with Tegan

To say that I had fun documenting my niece's first day of kindergarten would be an understatement! The brand new Doodlebug Design School Days collection is full of whimsical colors and adorable icons! The cute paperclips, colorful stars, and smiling school supplies were a blast to work with! I can't wait to use this collection again!
I love that the Chit Chat die cut packs always have words that can be used for quick and fun titles, like the 'First Day' title here. The 'Just a Note' cut apart card from the Color Me Happy Patterned Paper makes a super fun spot for the journaling! I used the awesome rainbow striped Very Primary Patterned Paper to make top and bottom border strips. And aren't those crayon stickers and little girl sticker just the cutest?!

I wanted to somehow 'feature' the adorable Shape Sprinkles and Icon Stickers, so I die cut stars out of a few of the simple patterned papers of the collection. I used the star from the Doodlebug Design Lots O' Luck Lucky Shapes cut file set to create 3 1/2" stars from the blue star, black music note, and red dot patterned papers. I then used dark yellow embroidery floss to create a fun circle on the star to really make the stickers pop. And of course I used the You're A Star Shape Sprinkles to embellish around my big paper stars!

Craft paint, paperclips, and pencils - oh my! There are so many super fun elements in this collection that I can't picked any favorites! What are your favorite things in the School Days collection?!

Thanks for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to grab the School Days collection and document your student's first day of school!

HEARTS UPON HEARTS | with Erica

Do you have a favorite shape? Hearts are definitely one of my favorite shapes to use on layouts. They can be used in so many ways and to document so many things. Anytime I find a cut file with lots of hearts I know I have to use it. I thought it would be fun to back this heart wreath with some colorful pattern papers from Doodlebug Design. I pulled out my Simply Spring and the Dot-Stripe 6x6 paper pads and began to trace the hearts to back my file. Since this is a very simple shape backing a cut file like this takes no time at all. I love how colorful it looks with all the beautiful colors and patterns from Doodlebug Design.

One thing I love about Doodlebug is that everything coordinates so well together! I loved that I could use the Simply Spring collection for a photo that is not spring related at all! I popped the cut file up on some foam tape and added a few embellishments around the wreath. Sprinkles are always needed on my layout and I used a variety of colors on this layout.

I also added the bright bunch doodle-pop to my layout. I love all the dimension the doodle-pops give. And lets talk about the photo because I mean...it is pretty special to me. This was the first time that I met Cynthea and I was so so excited! It was at She Loves Color in 2016 and I had the best time ever. I added a few Simply Spring Chit Chat die cuts to the bottom of my photo. I used the Love This as my title.

I hope you all enjoy this layout and it inspires you to create with your favorite shape and the beautiful colors and patterns from Doodlebug Design.

AN EXPLOSION OF COLOUR | with Erica

One of the many things I love about Doodlebug Design is all the COLOR. You can't help but smile when you see all their colorful products. I knew for my first project as a design team member I had to have a color explosion on my layout. I also wanted to use a cut file to showcase my style for you today. Cut files are a great way to make a big statement on your page and they are easy to work with. I backed my cut file with some colorful papers from the Swiss Dot 6x6 paper pad.
I dug into my favorite inks and found colors to match the colored swiss dot papers in my cut file. I took the ink pads and applied some ink to an acrylic block. Used my water bottle to add a couple squirts of water and then let the ink drip onto my paper. I tried to match up the same color ink with where the same colored paper would be on the layout. Once the ink was dripped onto my cardstock I used some packaging and smooched the ink around the layout. I love doing this to add that ever so popular water color look to my layouts. I pulled out two photos of our youngest son Liam Jay and his most favorite thing in the whole world..his stuffed baby sloth. This little buddy of his goes everywhere with him and it is the sweetest thing. I knew I had to document these photos.
I pulled out sprinkles in matching colors and also some Simply Spring ephemera and stickers. I absolutely love how this turned out. Here is a look at my completed layout
I hope this inspires you to pull out some of the colorful Doodlebug Design products and create a layout full of color!
