TINSEL TIME EXPLOSION BOX | with Traci

Hey guys! Traci here and today, I have a really fun project for you that uses the fabulous Tinsel Time Collection and a brand new explosion box by Scrapbook.com. It has so many fun layered pages, pockets, and cute Doodlebug surprises inside. It would make a great Christmas gift idea!

The box measures 5x5 inches and comes already made so all you have to do is decorate it. I started by covering the bottom half of the box in the pretty 12x12 paper called Festive Floral.

On the lid, I added the red polka dot print (Berry Merry) and the white star paper (Tree Trimmings). I used a 3" scalloped circle punch and a 2.5" circle punch to create a mat, then added the Merry Christmas Doodle-pops.

When the lid is lifted, the box's layers unfold to reveal ...

... all of these wonderful pages filled with cute papers, die cuts, and Doodle-pops. Because I can be a Doodle-pops hoarder, I'm super proud of myself for using so many here. Look how fabulous they all are!

In between each set of pages is a heart shape that connects one section to the next. These fold in half and tuck neatly inside when you close the box. Doesn't the red Berry Merry paper highlight the heart perfectly?

In the center, I added a wreath die cut from the Odds & Ends. I love the beautiful details on this, and ... its shape mimics the scalloped mats on the pages around it. I love glitter dots so I added a few for sparkle.

Each of the 4 sections has 3 built-in pocket pages. Above, I added the adorable So Endeering Doodle-pops to the front page. She's so cute with her little pink collar.

Here are some decorating ideas for the inside pages ...

I covered each one in a pretty 12x12 print and created different shaped mats for interest. I love the way Doodlebug's papers always match and work perfectly together. Mixing them is easy and always looks great.

All the circular mats were created with the same 3" and 2.5" punches that I used for the lid. The square mats are the same size but I cut them out. Oh! And do you see the Jolly St. Nick Doodle-pops above? So cute.

Here, you can also spot the Christmas Cottage and the Christmas Candy Doodle-pops. ... Dear Santa, I want a pink house just like that one, please.

I had so much fun decorating this little explosion box. The Tinsel Time Collection makes every project fun and so, so cute!! I hope today's project inspires you to create something wonderful. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

TINSEL TIME TREAT BOXES | with Karen

This year, my colleagues and I have been doing a Secret Santa exchange. For 12 days, we are surprising each other with little gifts and ideas to brighten these last days before the main event. It's been a lot of fun, and for this crafty gal, it has given me an excuse to make all sorts of fun crafts. Today, I thought I would share a treat container that I whipped up to hold some of my recipients favourite treats.

All-three-1

Using the adorable Tinsel Time collection, some coordinating textured cardstock and a cut file from the Lori Whitlock shop these little boxes were a treat to make!

  Closeup-1

The striped heavyweight acetate that coordinates with this collection was perfect for the window in the box, adding adorable colour and pattern but also giving a little hint of what might be inside. And did I mention that it is a dream to work with - so easy to cut and nice and thick to give lots of structure to the box.

  Closeup-2

Then I topped off each box with shapes from the Odds and Ends pack and a sentiment from the Chit Chat pack. Everything was the perfect size and came together so nicely - adding some layers and dimensions to the top. Finally, I added a little bit of sparkle with a few Glitter Sprinkles from the Tinsel Time assortment and then I packed them up with treats!

  All-three-2

I really love how these boxes came together and I cannot wait to give them away this week. One will get some chocolates, one will get come cookies and one will get a Doodlebug keychain to celebrate the season! Regardless of what they hold, I hope they are a treat in themselves! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

TINSEL TIME GIFT BOX | with Jen

This time of year we always need a simple gift for a neighbor or friend. Today I have for you a fun gift box using the new Tinsel Time collection!

The finished box measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and is 6" tall. Once you learn how to make this it's very easy to resize for almost any gift!

Around the base I used the swag pieces from the Tinsel Time Bits and Pieces. I matted everything with papers from the 6x6 paper pad.

On the top I used the Merry and Bright Doodle Cuts Die to make the little snow globe into a shaker. Rather than cut out the Santa that comes with the die set I used Mini Icons to build my scene. They're the perfect size for the inside of the snow globe!

Want to make your own gift box? A full tutorial is available on my YouTube channel and is also below.

Have a great day!

GINGERBREAD KISSES GIFT CARD MINI FILE FOLDERS | with Niella

Ho, ho, ho crafty crew! We are only a few sleeps away from the event of the year; Christmas! How fun to see you visit the blog today; we have the very sweet Gingerbread Kisses collection as today's inspiration station! I wanted to keep today's project quick, fun and easy in the sense of choose, cut and decorate. I've used a mini file folder die from my stash, but you can use a gift card template, turn card landscape and adhere a tab on the side for an instant mini file. Joy!

My favorite part of any project is going through a collection and picking and choosing the foundations which is the patterned papers! Gingerbread Kisses is yet another stunning Doodlebug Design collection with the sweetest faces, cutest icon stickers and the wondrous mugs and ornaments!

For the six mini file folders I've used papers that are great for background - meaning fewer patterns so whatever you decorate with can "pop" more. The papers I've used for the outside patterns are Berry Floral, Gingerbread Kisses, Cookies for Santa, Gift Wrap, Holiday Sprinkles and Sugarplums. So cute!

These mini file folders are going to be housing some gift cards! You could also create and use them for scrapbook pages, journaling, gifting or adding to the packaging of a present! Super darling.

For these mini folders I've used lotsa Sprinkles! I like how they add that extra fun and have the best effect on finishing off the project pieces. I've also used the Sprinkles Glitter Assorted in Ladybug and Limeade for bits of red + green sparkle! The icon sticker sheet is one of my favorite Doodlebug items; it has all the sweetness you could ever need. How cute is everything!

Thank you for this year of fun and inspiration giving (and receiving)! Here's to 2024 and all the crafty happiness we're sure to have! Remember to tag us in our your socials when you create with Doodlebug Design! We love seeing your creations. Merriest of Merry Christmas' to you and your loved ones crafty crew; until next time, doodle dee!

GINGERBREAD KISSES TREAT HOLDERS & ORNAMENTS | with Tya

Hello there! Are you all surviving the hustle and bustle of the holidays? It gets a little tricky this time of year to squeeze in some crafty time, but I made It happen this year by golly! I have adored working with the Gingerbread Kisses collection so much! I wanted to share a fun little treat holder with you today with a super fun pocket that holds a handmade ornament to give to all of those special someones on your list this year!

I followed this blog post to create the boxes. I used some 110-weight Kraft cardstock to construct my boxes. I did deviate slightly from the original and did not punch the hole to make it a door hanger. I simply added a 1/2 inch score mark at the top of the bag and adhered it to the top fold-over flap on a bag of these yummy Gingerbread Ghirardelli Chocolates. I decorated the bag with the "Cookies for Santa" pattern paper and some Pistachio Swiss Dot Petite Prints. Such fun colors in this collection!

I also made my own little gingerbread-themed ornaments that were so easy to make and SO fun to decorate with all sorts of little bits! I love how this simple little ornament was made with some chalk paint and one of these plastic art palettes from the dollar store! They look just like a little muffin or cupcake tin and I loved how it went along with the whole baking theme of the Gingerbread Kisses collection.

Here are a few close-ups of the ornaments:

These were decorated with some die cuts from the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat ephemera packs. I also added a clay ornament from my stash. I added some peppermint enamel dots from the Peppermint Place Shape Sprinkles to the clay ornaments to match the collection a little better. I found these itty bitty cookie cutters at the craft store, so I added some hot glue to the cup, added a few cookie sprinkles, and then placed my little ornament in the cup. Such a fun little addition! I also added some plastic peppermint candies to the cups. The gingerbread friends are hot glued to a cinnamon stick and some pretty greenery. I added a candy cane from the Icon Sticker sheet to the gingerbread friends. I also added a little bit of Stickles for some sparkle to the buttons and bows on the gingerbread. The ornaments are finished off with a festive striped bow and then some twine hot glued to the back to act as a holder for the ornament. I just had the BEST time making these! Kids would LOVE to make these too! Just be careful with the hot glue! :)

After the ornaments had all been put together, I added them to the front pocket along with some paper shreds. I decorated the front pockets of the holders with some more die cuts from the Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, Bits and Pieces, Warm Wishes Shape Sprinkles, and Enamel Dots. I added a small Lily White Mini Doily over the top flap and then glued the holder right to the flap of the bag of chocolates.

A little group shot action! :)

I hope these treat and ornament holders have inspired you to create your own fun and festive gifts! The "Gingerbread Kisses" collection was perfect for this gingerbread-themed project, and I had so much fun making them! Have a wonderful Holiday Season and we will see you next time! Happy crafting!

GINGERBREAD KISSES HOT COCOA SET | with Jen

I love the Sticker Doodles which are new to Doodlebug this year. They are heavy duty stickers that stand up to washing, so they're perfect for water bottles! But what do you do with the holiday ones? A neighbor gift of course! I used the Sticker Doodles for a gift set of hot cocoa mugs and some hot cocoa mix. I found the mugs and the mix (in that super cute bottle) at TJ Maxx.

I made sure the mugs were clean and also wiped the area where I wanted to apply the Sticker Doodles with rubbing alcohol to make sure they would stick down permanently. I used the Merry Christmas Sticker Doodle on each mug and then added Santa and Gingie as well.

I decorated the bottle using the 6x6 Gingerbread Kisses paper pad. I added a little circle element from the Chit Chat pack to the top. I finished it off with a tag from the Bits and Pieces that I wrote the hot cocoa directions on and then decorated with Ladybug Alphabet Soup stickers and Gingerbread Kisses Puffy Icons. I tied it on with three colors of Doodle Twine.

I completed the set with a tag made with the Christmas Cocoa Doodle Cuts set. I added some paper shred, marshmallows, and chocolate spoons as some extras! Now add it to a cute basket or wrap it in some cellophane and you're ready to gift to a teacher or neighbor!

Have a wonderful Holiday!

GINGERBREAD KISSES BOARD GAME | with Niella

Hi crafty crew! We've officially begun the exciting countdown to Christmas day! We're all on the hunt for last minutes gifts and treats for our friends and family but I know there's always room for one more right! How about a homemade gift; one that can be shared with the whole family, is super cute AND involves the adorable Gingerbread Kisses collection. How about a mini handcrafted game board with darling charming pieces :-)

This gameboard was so fun to create, I've even named it Gingerbread Dash! I was inspired by the advent calendar page in the 6x6 GBK paper pad with the numbers and icons so I cut each row of pieces out and back with white cardstock and trimmed back to leave a slight edge; this helps the numbered strips to pop out visually.

Next; I lined up the edges to form a square and then mounted this onto the Baking Spirits Bright patterned paper and then onto white cardstock from the GBK Solid cardstock pack leaving another slight white edge to pop the patterned paper. Came out super yummy!

Now the extra sweet part of adding what ever you'd like - this part I loved! I've gone through the collection and added Sprinkles, mini icon stickers, pom poms, and in the middle I've used the Candy Cottage Doodle Pop - as soon as I placed it in it's place I knew it was meant to be! So cute and darling!

For the extra dazzle I've made a counter piece where the Gingerbread pieces sit before the game starts. The gingerbread player pieces are made using the Doodle cuts Gingerbread Lane die set. I loved giving them personality but adding a bow to each! To stand them I've used some extra thick acetate bent in half. This gives the clear illusion and looks like they're standing.

Love this birds eye view! As you go around the board as you shake the dice in turns and if you land on a Doodlebug Design logo you get to pick a card! Each card has something special written on the back. I've got candy cane, quote and extra turn on my card set. You can write anything you'd like.

Thank you so much for popping by today, I hope I've inspired you and don't forget to tag us in our Doodlebug Designs projects on your Socials; we ADORE seeing what you've created. Until next time crafty crew - doodle doo!
