CHRISTMAS MAGIC PAPER CURL WREATH | with Tya

I am always on the hunt for a cute holiday wreath! This year I decided - why not make my own with the adorable Christmas Magic collection! I have always loved bright, happy colors in my holiday decor, so this year it was a no-brainer to create a handmade wreath that I can customize with my favorite colors! 

So this wreath is made up of a few of my favorite pattern papers from the collection and then a few coordinating Petite Print papers. I followed this tutorial I found on Pinterest to make the wreath:
CURLY PAPER WREATH TUTORIAL. It came together in just over an hour! It looks like it takes longer - but once you start curling the paper strips and then pinning them to the wreath form - it really does go by quickly. I used a 12 inch round foam wreath form as my base. The paper strips measure 1/2 inch x 12 inches and so you can get quite a few strips from one piece of paper. Then came the fun part- DECORATING!!

I used several different die cuts from the Odds and Ends - Mr. and Mrs. Santa are seen peeking out from behind the "Merry Christmas" sentiment that is found in the Chit Chat die cuts. I layered the pieces with some foam tape and then glued them to the wreath. I used a couple of Holly and Pine Shape Sprinkles for some dimension.

 I knew when I saw these cute banners in the Odds and Ends I needed to use it on a project. I added a couple of Peppermint Twist Shape Sprinkles to the cupcake and the present. I also added a couple of Mini Clothespins to the ends of the banner.

  I thought I needed another little character to the wreath so I added the cute elf riding a reindeer die cut just above the banner. He is so cute!!

To finish decorating the wreath I found a few of the Ornament die cuts from the Odds and Ends and glued a few of them all around the wreath. I did add a few of the Tiny Heart Shape Sprinkles to the ornaments for a little pizazz!

I seriously love how this wreath turned out. This was my first time making a wreath like this and I can see myself making many more with other Doodlebug collections! Holiday Gifts: Chocolate Christmas Wreath by Melinda

Chocolate always seems to creep it's way into our Christmas decorations, whether hanging from the Christmas tree or adorning a garland strung across a doorway. However, considering our Christmas here in Australia is in the middle of Summer the chocolate never lasts until December 25... "oh mum, it was melting I promise"!

Now I will fully admit this wreath isn't being gifted to anyone other than my doorway because I cannot bare to part with it now that it's made. And I'm already down one chocolate in the few hours it's being hanging as Master 5 cannot help himself. But hey, it's Christmas after all.

I purchased a foam ring for the base and then used three of the super cute Milk & Cookies cut files to create the pieces I needed to put the wreath together.

Then it was a matter of layering all the holly leaves and snowflakes to cover the foam before attaching the little Christmas puddings. I also decided to use Sprinkles for the eyes and cheeks instead of the flat paper pieces of the cut files as I thought the extra dimension would add to the sweetness of the little faces.

To finish the wreath I added the chocolate Lindt balls with foam pop dots... this is definitely not a time to be using a glue gun when chocolate is involved.
