PETITE PRINTS YOU MAKE ME HAPPY LAYOUT | with Tarrah

The Doodlebug Petite Prints are so versatile and match every collection Doodlebug have designed! For this layout I used the Candy Stripe-Sprinkles Petite Prints 6 x 6 paper pad in bubblegum, swimming pool and bumblebee and also the large bubblegum 12 x 12 Candy Stripe paper for the background.

I took a die-cut and traced the outline of it onto each of the papers and then freehand cut them out. I then punched holes in each end and and tied some bows using twine between them all. I did this three times for each color and then adhered them to the white cardstock using craft foam.

I placed my photo horizontally on the right, overlapping the bubblegum and bumble bee die-cuts. I decided that the rainbow Odds & Ends piece would make a great title and added that to the top pink die-cut. On the top blue die-cut I placed the white cloud die-cut.

I then embellished my page using a tone on tone effect, I added the same color embellishments to match the die-cuts they were placed on. The embellishments I chose were relevant to my photo and help to tell the story of my photo also.

I trimmed down the white cardstock to roughly 11' x 11' and adhered it to the 12' x 12' Candy Striped paper. Lastly I stamped the date stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy creating!

FAIRY GARDEN RAINBOW LAYOUT | with Lisa

Do you love rainbows as much as I do? I could create something with rainbow colors on each and every layout... :), especially using the cute Doodlebug colors.  Here's my rainbow layout I created with the new Fairy Garden collection.

Looking at the pretty colors and cute little characters in the collection, I knew I wanted to create a rainbow layout using as many embellishments as possible. I had the idea to create this tiered circle. I have made layouts similar to this one and they always turn out so cute. I didn't have a seven-tiered circle cut file though, so I created one on my Silhouette. I wanted to include six colors and one photo.

When I had my circle cut out, I chose the papers to create my backgrounds. I chose them from different Doodlebug patterned paper packs. I backed my circle with the six colors and then I hand-stitched all around the borders using matching embroidery floss. When I was done, I machine-stitched over the lines, on the inside of the circle, with white thread and I adhered the circle to a white cardstock sheet. I matted my photo on white paper and then vellum and placed it in the designated spot on the layout, using thick foam squares.

Then came the best part. Choosing all the embellishments, make them even cuter and add everything onto the six triangles. I added sequins and glitter in each of the six colors to some of the die-cut pieces that I chose. It really made a difference and looked so cute. I added some to the tiers with liquid glue, while using foam squares for others, to create dimension.

Then I also wanted to add Sprinkles and Jewels. Love how it turned out :)  I didn't have any space left for my title, so I decided to add it partly over my photo. I used the word "sweet" from the die-cuts and wrote the word "times" using the Abigail alphabet stickers. To finish, I splattered paint in matching colors all around my circle.

Thank you so much for stopping by, hope you like the layout,  see you soon,
