HOMETOWN USA SNOW GLOBE | with Jen

I just love the Doodlebug DIY Snow Globe. I have quite a little stash of them in my craft room because I have so many ideas! One idea was to use the clear Doodlebug Acetate to pop things up inside the snow globe. Hometown USA is the perfect collection for this!

First I cut a 4 1/2" circle out of silver glitter cardstock with my Cricut. Then I cut a 3 3/4" circle with the Cricut from the 6x6 firework paper. I cut three 1/4" wide strips of heavyweight acetate.

I lined the acetate strips up over the firework cardstock. I used the cardstock to determine where to bend them first so they were the right width. I then bent them a second time for the height. I varied the height on each strip.

I attached the strips to the back of the cardstock with Scor Tape. I used my powder tool to get the sticky off the back of the large pieces on the July 4th Doodle Pop and then added a small strip of tape to the back and adhered it to my middle strip. I added the stars around it and finally glued two small acetate fireworks from the Bits and Pieces on the upper and lower acetate strips.

I poured my silver shaker balls and Land That I Love shaker mix into the base of the snow snow globe. I then added the back.

I added a strip of the plaid cardstock from the 6x6 pad to the front of the base and one of the word stickers from the This and That sticker sheet on foam squares. I finished it off with some red polka dot ribbon around the outside.

Have a great day!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS BIRTHDAY PHOTO GLOBE | with Conny

Hey Crafty Friends,  It's Conny here and today we are focusing on Shakers and DIY Snow Globes. For my project, I used the Bunny Hop Collection and focused on the florals and one of my favorite photos of Savanna. Her birthday is coming I wanted to make her something special.

Let's get started! First, I printed a 4" x 6" photo. Then, I traced a circle on the photo using the Snow Globe backing, trimmed it using scissors, and added florals from the bits and pieces.  Some of the florals were glued directly to the background, while others were placed on foam double-sided adhesive to play with layers since the Snow Globes have room for dimension. Next, I added the "Hello" and "You're so sweet," from the Chit Chat Pieces  along with some Hello Spring Shape Sprinkles and that adorable Springtime Peeps Doodle-Pop! Inside the globe, I added Tangerine Shakers along with some Spring Flower Shakers. On the outside of the globe, I added florals on one side and Mini Jewels -  on the other side with the title "JUST FOR YOU!

We're super excited to see what wonderful creations you make with our Snow Globe Kit and Shakers. We just know they will be amazing and we can't wait to marvel at your creativity!
XO, Conny!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS MINI SNOW GLOBE ALBUM | with Traci

Hello everyone! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a new shaker mini album I created with the DIY Snow Globe Kit and the beautiful Hello Again Collection. I'm a mini album girl and can usually find a way to turn anything into a little scrapbook and fill it with photos. Any size, any shape, any theme - I got you! So, when I saw the adorable Snow Globe Kit my brain immediately thought of this ...

Spring Snow Globe Mini Scrapbook Album by Artsy Albums

It's a snow globe shaped holder with a round, removable mini album inside! Oh, how I love Doodlebug. They have so many cute supplies that inspire fun projects.

And speaking of fun ... I started by decorating the outside of the snow globe. I used flowers from the Bits & Pieces, some gold enamel heart sprinkles, the 6x6 aqua Forever Flowers print, and the gold title sticker from the This & That sheet.

Snow Globe Frame with Spring Shaker Mini Album

I designed the album's cover to be a shaker and filled it with the cutest little Spring Flowers Shakers from the Bunny Hop Collection. The colors of those flowers are so pretty!

Spring Mini Album with hot air balloons, flowers, and trees with a Snow Globe Frame

The album's pages were
created in an accordion style, so ... there are no rings or binding clips that would prevent it from fitting inside the snow globe.

I love the Hello Again Collection and thought it was perfect for this spring mini. I used the 12x12 Pink Poppies print on the rim and inside the shaker, the 12x12 Spot of Spring (Bunny Hop Collection) and the Green Thumb paper. Then embellished with some mini icon stickers and two little trees from the puffy shapes.

Let's take a quick look inside the mini, then I'll walk you through the steps of how I made this project.

Round Spring Mini Album Page with pretty flowers and scalloped photo mats

I covered all the white card stock pages with 12x12 pattern papers, except for the one pink page above where I used a 6x6 sheet of the Pink Poppies. I also added the cute vase of flowers from the icon stickers.

Spring Round Mini Album Page with a pretty butterfly, plaid paper, and scalloped photo mats

To make the photo mats, I used a 3" scallop circle punch and a 2.5" circle punch. On this page, I chose the pretty Patchwork Plaid for the mat and added a butterfly icon sticker.

Round Spring Mini Album Page with pretty flowers, a rainbow, and scalloped photo mats

This cute little rainbow icon sticker has a pretty gold foil scalloped edge that I just adore, but ... it also mimics the scallops and the shape of my photo mat!

Time for the tutorial ...

Spring Snow Globe Mini Album Tutorial by Artsy Albums

1. Using my Silhouette Cameo 5 machine and card stock, I cut out the following:

  • 1 pattern ring (4.25”)
  • 6 white rings (4.25”)
  • 10 white circles (4.25”)
  • 10 pattern circles (4”)

2. I stacked and glued the 6 white rings together to provide dimension for the shakers. Then, I glued a 4.25” acetate circle (that I cut out by hand) to one side.

3. I added .25” foam squares around the edge of the paper side of the rings and set that aside.

4. For the pages, I adhered the pattern circles to the white circles. I laid 5 of them out side-by-side, glued a long piece of ribbon across them, and glued the remaining 5 circle sets on top (white circles facing in & sandwiching the ribbon). Trim off the excess ribbon on either end.

5. On the front side of the first page, I created the scene with mini icon stickers. I sprinkled on some cute spring flower shakers and adhered the acetate frame (from step 3) on top to create the cover.

Slip the cute mini inside the
Snow Globe, replace the backing that comes with it, and voila!! My spring album project is done. I can't wait to add some spring photos to this little album.

I hope today's project with the DIY Snow Globe Kit and the Hello Again Collection inspires something wonderful! Until next time ... happy crafting 😊

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS - BUNNY HOP SNOW GLOBE | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here with you today and if you've been following me for a while, you know I LOVE to make shakers! Give me anything and I'll make a shaker out of it. So of course when Doodlebug released the adorable Shakers, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. I was so excited to work with the Snow Globe and turn it into Easter decor. Here's what I created:

To start, I traced the inside the of the glass globe on a piece of white paper and cut it out. I then traced it again on a piece of thicker white cardstock to use as my base. Once that was trimmed out, I took the spring sprouts patterned paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad and then trimmed a few narrow strips out of it. I wanted to create some grass with it so I pulled out my fringe scissors and cut into the strips. I added foam tape to the backs of each strip and before I adhered them down, I took a blue Distress Oxide Ink pad and ink blended on my sky.

I thought it would be fun to create a little scene using the Mini Icon Stickers, so I pulled out a few cute ones to help me build it. I don't have a lot of Easter/Spring decor so this was the perfect thing to create so that I can pull it out each year and display it.

I made sure to add foam tape to my stickers so that they could be dimensional and give my scene some depth and interest. The cute carrot house was perfect to layer on top of the two trees and the sun really pulled it all together. I tucked in a bunch of flowers from that same Mini Icon sheet but also pulled in a few from the Chickies Shape Sprinkles pack. To finish this cute globe, I poured in the stars of the show... the Shakers! I chose these colors: Bubblegum, Bumblebee, Mint, Cupcake and Spring Flowers. They added the perfect touch!!

To finish things, I covered a portion of the black base using the may flowers paper from the 6x6 Paper Pad and added a few phrase pieces from the Chit Chat Pack. For some extra sparkle, I adhered a few Jewels from the Easter Assortment around the base. I love how it turned out!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. These Shakers are so fun and I can't wait to create even more things with them! See you in my next post friends!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS SNOW MUCH FUN SNOWGLOBE | with Tarrah

What is not to love about the new Doodlebug shakers?! I mean there are so many possibilities to use these! You have seen the Doodle Shaker Pops right? Well now you can create your very own shaker pops or cards or whatever you want! I decided to create a snow globe using the new DIY Snow Globe kit, the Snow Much Fun collection and of course the new shakers!

Firstly I created a scene on the back piece of the globe by adding a sheet of patterned paper from the 6' x 6' paper pad and then layered the Let It Snow acetate over the top. To create the scene I took pieces from the Odds and Ends ephemera pack and added the Snow Cute Doodle Pop also. I also added some small puffy stickers and some clouds too. On the white parts of the ephemera, I added some Kindyglitz for some extra sparkle. Once the backing was done, I tested how it looked and then added a lot of the Lily White shaker balls inside the globe.

For the outside, I added the Winter Wonderland paper to the top of the globe and also one of the scalloped border stickers from the This and That sticker sheet. At the base of the globe, I covered the black in the striped paper from the 6' x 6' paper pad. I took one of the phrase banner ephemera pieces from the Chit Chat pack and added this over the top. I then took one of the Frosty Fun Little Charmers and tucked it under the banner title. At the very bottom I added the tiny puffy hearts along the edge.

Around the outer front edge, I took all of the snowflake puffy stickers and arranged them to fill the space. I did think about painting this part first however I decided not to and I am glad I just added the stickers. Once it was all dry, it was time to give a test and shake it up! It worked great and I love how it turned out.

Close up of the bottom section of the globe.

This was such a fun project to make! I hope you will give the shakers a go and create some cool projects with them! Thanks for stopping by today!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS RAINBOW GIFT SET | with Tya

Hi there crafty friends! It was so much fun getting to play with the brand-new D.I.Y Snow Globes this month! I don't know about you, but it has been a little dreary in my neck of the woods and I knew I wanted to brighten things up so I used the super bright and happy "Over the Rainbow" collection and a few Doodle Pops from the "Bunny Hop" collection to create this fun little gift ensemble which includes a snow globe, a cute shaker lid container, and a whimsical Tag Flip!

To make the Snow Globe, I used the 6x6 Rainbow Wishes paper with the cloud background and layered up some Odds and Ends, and the cute "Hello Sunshine" Doodle Pop to make a little sky scene. I added some of the "Gnome Sweet Gnome" 6x6 paper and traced the base of the Snow Globe onto it. I then added it to my Snow Globe base and decorated that section with a cloud, a button tied with some yellow twine, and some cute yellow pom-pom trim to finish it up.

I used the Cupcake, Bubblegum, Ladybug, Tangerine, Bumblebee, Limeade, and Swimming Pool Shaker Balls to fill up the Snow Globe. Aren't they so much fun?

Next, I created this cute little container with a shaker lid! Believe it or not, this is made from a small Pringles Can and a 3-inch plastic ornament half to make the shaker lid. I fell in love with this little technique and can see myself making oodles of these! They are the perfect way to showcase all of my favorite Doodle Pops! They are so fun to fill up too!

To cover my Pringles can, I used a 4 1/2 x 10-inch strip of Over the Rainbow Stripe paper. I then added two of the decorative border strips from the Lucky Me paper. I added the "It's a Rainbow Kind of Day" die cut to the front of the can with some foam tape. I also added some cute yellow pom-pom trim to the top of the border strip along the bottom of the can. Cute colors abound here!

To make the lid, I added some lightweight chipboard strips behind the clouds on the "Hello Sunshine" Doodle Pop. This made it fit well in the dome. I added a 3-inch cardstock circle on top of the plastic lid and then glued the Doodle Pop down with hot glue. I added the Shaker Balls to the dome and then centered the dome on top of the lid. The dome is held onto the top of the lid with hot glue. This is so fun to shake up!

On the inside of the container, I did a quick little tag flip and featured some of my favorite pieces of the "Over the Rainbow" collection. It fit perfectly, ribbons and all, inside the container!

As you can see, the first tag on the page is a shaker tag that was decorated with some pattern papers, and acetate. The shaker balls were a great interactive element for the cover tag on this little flip!

Here are the tags I did! Lots of layering of 6x6 papers, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, and Puffy Stickers!

Getting to play with the Snow Globe and Shaker Balls was such a delight and I am thrilled with how this little set turned out. I plan on giving it to a cute niece of mine to brighten her day! Thank you so much for spending a little time here on the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you have the best day and we will see you all next time! Happy Crafting Friends!
