6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - DECEMBER MINI ALBUM | with Nathalie

Happy New Year! I am so happy to start the year showcasing the new Doodlebug Designs 6x8 albums. I am an avid documenter who houses all our family memories in this format, so you can imagine how happy I am to have these at hand. Since, I keep a monthly album I like to keep my covers simple as all my albums sit on my bookcase shelves. So here is how I have decorated my December 2024 album.

I wanted something colorful and classic that would not add a lot of bulk to the cover, so my choice was to work with papers from the new Tinsel Time collection for this.

I chose a Cupcake color 6x8 album for my December documenting as it is the perfect color for the season. Plus, we all love a little bit of pink in our lives. I used Tinsel Time paper to cover the front of the album. The contrast of the pink spine and mint paper is just perfect.

Using a punch, I created a scalloped border from a strip of Berry Merry paper, then added the striped sticker from the Mini Icons to add a bit of a festive look to the page. I adhered them to the bottom half of the cover. I combined stickers and pieces from the Bits & Pieces pack to create the large ephemera cluster on the left of the border.

To finish, I added a few extra details along the vertical line of the spine to complete my cover. I love how this turned out, all the color and interest without adding bulk to the cover. I hope this inspires you to decorate your new Doodlebug albums. I cannot wait to see what you will create! XO

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - DECEMBER ALBUM | with Erica

Hello crafty friends! Happy New Year! Erica here and I’m so excited to share my latest project for the Doodlebug Design creative team! We are sharing our album covers using the 6x8 mini albums and I am using one in the Cupcake color. Using the adorable and festive Tinsel Time collection, I created a bright and cheerful cover that sets the tone for all the holiday memories inside.

To start, I added a scalloped border sticker from the This & That Sheet along the left edge of the album cover. This simple step frames the design beautifully and introduces a pop of coordinating color. Next, I chose a large Chit Chat title piece to anchor the design. Its bold, festive typography serves as the centerpiece of the cover and instantly grabs attention.

I added various Odds & Ends pieces around the title to build a layered and dimensional design. Next I added some of the Tinsel Time sprinkles around the center and on the die cut pieces for some sparkle and texture! For the finishing touches, I tied some trims around the album, adding texture and movement. I also attached the Just Charming clip for a decorative accent that ties everything together.

I absolutely love how this album cover turned out! The soft pink of the Cupcake album pairs perfectly with the festive elements from the Tinsel Time collection. The layered ephemera and playful details make this cover a joyful introduction to the memories it holds. It’s colorful, whimsical, and filled with holiday cheer!

I hope this project inspires you to create your own album cover. I'll be back with some of the inside of my album my next post.  What are you crafting this holiday season? Let me know in the comments below!

GINGERBREAD KISSES DECEMBER DAILY | with Jen

December is always such a busy month. There's always holiday parties, shopping, decorating, and family activities that you one do once a year. I love the idea of a December Daily but I just don't have the time for a detailed one. So today I have a super simple version that anyone can make and use!

The overall folio measures 4 1/2" x 9 1/2" and is 1 1/2" deep. It's made with just cardstock and the Gingerbread kisses patterned papers. This whole project will go together in about an hour. On the front I took one of the images from the Christmas Jammies advent calendar cut aparts and made it into a shaker. I added some wide ribbon from my stash to tie the folio closed.

Inside there are two spots for general pictures. I will go back and add chit chat pieces after I've added my pictures as I go through December.

When fully open we have 24 photo flips on 4 waterfalls for all your December memories. I used the numbers from the advent calendar cut-aparts as tabs on each flip.

You'll have space on both the front and the back for pictures each day, or you could even journal on the back.

I used a mix of the 6x6 papers and the 12x12 papers to mat the different flips.

A video walkthrough and full tutorial can be found here.

CANDY CANE LANE DECEMBER DOCUMENTING | with Nathalie

I am sure that all of you have lots of memories of Christmas ( past and present) to document!  Today, I want to give a bit of inspiration featuring the sweet Candy Cane Lane in my December 6x8 album.

There is so much cuteness in this collection that it was so easy to mix and match pieces in the spreads, and put them together in no time!

My first spread is all about my nephew enjoying Gingerbread  decorating time while experiencing Covid.   I stared by bringing a bit of red accents to the page to complement the colors in the picture.

I love the cut apart journal cards, especially when I have lots of story writing to add.   I followed the design on the other page by repeating the colors and look  of the page.

For my next page, I am mixing patterned paper with all the embellishments of the collection to document all the yummy treats of the season!

This time, I am creating a smaller title page from patterned paper, then adding a bit of interest with the embellishments of the collection.    That cute little driving Santa was perfect!

For this part of the spread, I simply framed the photos with patterned paper making sure that there was plenty leftover to add my journaling after.  A few extra small pieces complete the spread!

I hope these give you a bit of inspiration for your December documenting with the gorgeous Candy Cane Lane collection.  XO

CANDY CANE LANE MEMORYDEX BOX & CARDS | with Erica

Hello friends! Erica here with you today sharing a super cute memorydex box and cards using the Candy Cane Lane collection from Doodlebug Design.

I used metal dies, a punch and a cut file to create my cards and the box to hold them. I pulled out 12x12 papers and papers from the 6x6 Candy Cane Lane paper pad.

Once all my cards were cut out I started to layer up the Candy Cane Lane bits & pieces, chit chats and odds & ends. I added lots of foam adhesives to give them dimension.

I pulled out some different packs of shape sprinkles and puffy stickers to add to all of the cards too!

I just love how they all turned out and the box looks super cute full of these colorful holiday cards. You can check out my YouTube video to see how I put some of the cards together and a look at each one of the cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS DECEMBER MEMORYDEX CARDS | with Stephanie

Hello friends, today I'm sharing some Memorydex cards using a whole lot of Doodlebug Night Before Christmas cuteness! I'm pretty new to the Memorydex system (even though it's been around a while). I thought Doodlebug and December would be the perfect place to start. I'm always up for playing around with new ways to make something fun with pretty paper, stickers, die cuts etc.  I usually do a December memories album, but this might just take the place of that project this year.

Here's a look at the nine cards I have created so far.  I plan to use the cards to write down short memories and attach 2x3 photos to the back of the cards.

I cut each card base with different shaped memorydex card dies and several pattern papers. The fun part is all the lovely layering!

I used Shaped Sprinkles, Mini Jewels, Doodle Pops, Icon Stickers, Odds and Ends and Chit Chat die cuts as well as sentiments from the This & That sticker sheet. I got a lot of practice with paper piecing and layering lots of elements together. The more dimension the better!

Each card gives me a prompt for memories I want to capture on the back, for example one of our family traditions is wearing new PJ's on Christmas Eve. And even though my kids are older, we still leave cookies and milk out for Santa.

Ok, I think I'm hooked onto the Memorydex concept!  What a fun way to document stories, hold photos, write quick memories, store Holiday recipes and display the wonderful art of papercrafting!  Thanks for joining me today.  Happy crafting, friends!

CHRISTMAS TOWN - December Daily in January | with Caroli

I've always wanted to make a December Daily on real time, but never had the time to do it. I started  a few times in the past but usually at day five or six I realized that I was not able to work on it anymore, due to lack of time or inspiration.

This year, I was determined to change this situation and the motivation came in the shape of the fabulous red Daily Doodles Travelers Notebook, which I used in combination with the Christmas Village collection.

Since my goal was not to finish the project and not give up during the first week, I went for a really simple approach, one day per page. With very few exceptions,  I used just one photo, few embellies here and there, and of course journaling.

Between days 15 and 19 I started a new job and also here were a lot of family activities that kept me ways from my DD, but that didn't stopped me and I continued on 20th with the same enthusiasm.

I'm really satisfied with how this diary came out, it documents lots of happy and fun times for me and my family, I'm glad I did not give up this time!
I think the key is don't stress out and just document simple things in an easy and fast way, and travelers notebooks are a great ways of making things easier.

Did you made a December Daily? Did you use Doodlebug Design products on it?
Thanks for visiting us today, have a lovely day
