TINSEL TIME ADVENT CALENDAR | with Kathy

I love an Advent Calendar, and every year I try to make a Doodlebug version!  This year I used the Tinsel Time collection and the Tiny Tinsel Town Doodle Cuts to create a fun, smaller countdown.  Take a peek...

To create my base I used the boxes from the Christmas Advent Calendar SVG by Lori Whitlock.  I sized the boxes from the file down to 75% of their original size and cut/assembled 24 of them.  I stacked them into 3 rows of 8 and covered the outside with the snowflake side of the Tinsel Time paper.  I covered the drawers with the silver side of the Snow Bright Days paper.  I then cut out the countdown numbers from the 6x6 Berry Merry paper and added them to the front of the drawers.  I love the smaller size!

I created a fun town scene on the top of my advent calendar using the Tiny Tinsel Town Doodle Cuts, some petite prints and coordinating Textured Cardstock.  I just adore the sweet little houses.  I wanted them to be lit up (because everything is more fun with lights) so I created a small open sided box to glue to the back of each house.  Inside the box, I added a mini LED light (I will link below).

The boxes open so that I can drop in the lights and take them out.  I added a tab to make it easier.

I added a scene with Santa and his reindeer using the Mini Icon Stickers.  They were the perfect size!

The fun bottle brush tree icons in the collection inspired me to make one of my own!  I used some wire and some Doodle Twine to create a mini bottle brush tree.  (I followed this tutorial).  I decorated it with some individual Shakers in ladybug, bumblebee and cupcake as well as a star from the Holiday Magic Shaped Sprinkles.

On each house, I added a bit from the Happy Holiday Shakers to the wreaths... to give them a little decoration!

Now if I can only resist eating all the candy ahead of time!  Have you created any projects using Tinsel Time?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on socials... We love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

HELLO AGAIN ACETATE GIFT BOXES | with Tarrah

Do you like receiving gifts in cute gift boxes? I sure do! The new and GORGEOUS Hello Again collection is the perfect collection to create some gift boxes of your very own!

The new Gold Dot acetate included with the collection made the best foundation for my boxes. I created 2 different sizes using the acetate as the main base. I then chose some patterned papers from the 6"x 6"  paper pad and created tops and bottoms for the boxes.

I wanted the boxes to have a top that could be lifted off however so that it stayed nearby so I added some doodle twine through the lid and the sides of the box to keep it attached to the box. I used the new colors of doodle twine in Mint and Coral and threaded through a cute charmer for each one. The Little Charmers are new too!

I just love me some Doodle Pops and gift boxes are the perfect project to use them on. I added the butterflies to the largest box. Placing one on top of the lid and also placing one on the front of the box. I bent up the wings of the butterfly to show the dimension. The Flower bouquet was a great fit for the front of the smaller box.

I added a Chit Chat sentiment to each box so that I can use these as a thank you or a gift one day, I finished off the boxes with some of the smaller Doodle Pops and placed a gift inside each one. I love how these turned out, they were super easy to make and the result is super cute don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy creating!

CUTE & CRAFTY DOODLE POP CARDS | with Wanda

Hello cute and crafty friends! Happy to be here sharing a fun trio of cards I made with the awesome Cute & Crafty Collection! I am never going to get tired of using this collection!! My cards today will be perfect to set aside to mail out to my other crafting friends. I am featuring the Doodle Pops as my focal point on each card. I used the same card sketch layout - to feature lots of different patterned papers!

Blog 1

Each of these three Doodle Pops is just too cute! One card features the sewing machine, one the craft caddy, and one a little shaker of glitter. Fun fact: My sewing machine is actually that exact color! SO this is totally me! I started with white A2 card bases for each card. I used the Doodlebug Textured Cardstock for my bottom layer, and then layered three different patterns on all the cards. I used white circles to feature the sentiments and the images.

I used stickers from the 12x12 cardstock stickers sheet for my sentiments.

Blog 1

I used lots of little hearts to add color and fun to each card.

I used the Doodle Twine and Doodlebug Buttons as accents and texture on all the cards.

SCHOOL DAYS - WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL TREATS | with Shellye

Whether you're a teacher, student or parent, I have a sweet welcome-back-to-school treat using just a few basic supplies from Doodlebug Design!

For this project, any type of pre-made sack, bag or box can be used.  I've chosen a 2.5" die and cardstock to create this cute mini shopping style bag.  SVG files are also a good place to hunt for cute bags!
After cutting the bags and assembling, I moved to stamping and coloring the images
with alcohol markers. These type of projects are perfect for mixing up your collection of Doodlebug stamps and dies!

The stamped images were embellished with sprinkles and twine.

Inside of the little shopping bags I added clear bags of candy.  What better way to tie off the clear bags than with a twist of washi tape!  To create the "washi twist ties" I used a thin gauge wire (I actually pulled a strand from a piece of wire-edged ribbon) , placed it in the center of the washi tape and then wrapped around.  I also trimmed the washi twist tie to about an 1/4" width.
Again, have fun mixing and matching papers from different collections, as well as stamps to create unique little gifts!

PATRIOTIC DAILY DOODLE PLANNER | with Anabelle

The Fourth of July is almost here and my red Daily Doodle Planner is ready to go! I knew I wanted to dress her up for the holiday and decided to create a patriotic swag for my front cover, along with decorating my insert. I love how I was able to mix and match items to do this. Here's how it turned out.

To make the swag, I started with the denim paper from the Down on the Farm collection. It was perfect for my 'Americana' theme. I added a small white doily to the pocket and decorated it with some Fancy Frills stickers, star clips and Abigail font stickers. I folded over a red doily and adhered the pocket to this. Now I could easily attach it to the front elastic.

You could add a small spot of velcro to hold it on, though I didn't do that and it stayed put just fine.

Next, I created a couple of little flags to tuck into the pocket. I cut the papers (also from Down on the Farm) and adhered them to toothpicks. Then, I punched the flowers and folded them for texture. Adding twine to them gives even more texture and color. I added the star shaped sprinkles and added them to the pocket using a bit of tape. Looking at them reminds me of kids waving flags at the Fourth of July parade!
To create the coordinating insert, I adhered the gingham paper, along with some pom pom trim, to my insert. I added another doily, this time I simply adhered it to the insert cover. I decorated another pocket and finished off with the punched flowers. I love how it looks inside my planner!
As you can see, I was able to create a patriotic look for my Daily Doodle without using a single piece of themed paper! That's what I love about these collections. There are so many neutral elements that can be mixed, matched and turned into what you want them to be.

Hope you have an awesome Fourth of July! Thanks for stopping by!

FRENCH KISS SHAKER BOOK MARKS | with Nathalie

I love the French Kiss collection and I have been wanting to dust off my fusing tool to make shaker bookmarks for a while so I recently spent a short afternoon making these. I think they turned out so cute now I'm hooked, I want to make more!
They measure 6.5x2 inches and are decorated both on the inside and outside of the plastic sleeve.
I had the idea of pairing some die-cuts with book related quotes. I typed the quotes on white cardstock using my manual typewriter (but you can also use a computer) and I glued them on the patterned paper.
After making individual pockets with my fusing tool and an old page protector, I added a mix of Sprinkles, sequins and glitter inside along with the patterned paper. I then adhered the selected diecuts on top of each pocket.
I then machine cut small hole reinforcers from matching papers using a die from the Pill Better metal die set and attached tassels created with various Doodlebug twines.

They make fun gifts for book lovers but once you're done you might want to keep them for yourself... I'm not speaking from experience of course! ;)

Petite Prints Cards | Tya's Favorite Things

Hello everyone! I have been a designer now with Doodlebug for a few years, and in those few years I have come to have some favorite products that are my go-to elements when I make my projects. I was so tickled when Doodlebug came out with 2 new Petitie Print sets. I designed a few cards showcasing the 6x6 Petite Prints.

My favorite things to design with are the Petite Prints, mini doilies, Doodlepops and Doodle Twine. Stick with these - and you have cute projects guaranteed :)
Here are a few close ups of my cards I designed. I like to really keep my cards simple, letting the products take center stage. The colors of the Petite Prints are so vibrant and the smaller patterns in the 6x6 pads are perfect for card makers.
How cute is the little popcorn doodlepop? And this red Petite Print paper is so bright and fun!
I love the small grid , dot and  stripe patterns , it's fun to mix and  match them all together like I did on this card above.
With so many colors, you will never be without just the right shade to match any project. Gray is sometimes a tricky color, but I had no problems getting my papers to match my Doodlepop perfectly. I like to add bows of Doodle Twine for finishing touches on my cards.

I really had so much fun making these. The Petite Prints are honestly so fun to use and are a staple to many of my Doodlebug projects. I hope Doodlebug keeps making many, many more Petite Prints for me to use. Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!
