HEY PUMPKIN KITTY BOX CARDS | with Kathy

My favorite icon in the Hey Pumpkin Collection is of course the adorable black cat!  He looks just like my boy Jax!  So, when I saw the adorable Hey Pumpkin SVG files, I decided to create a couple of box cards featuring that sweet kitty!  Take a peek...

I started with the Hey Pumpkin October Garden Kitty 2 SVG.  The little kitty popping up from behind the pumpkin made me smile!  I cut the pieces from the Hey Pumpkin Coordinating Textured Cardstock and added some Bits & Pieces and Puffy Icons for the florals.  I love that the coordinating cardstock packs have the perfect colors!

I added the hello speech bubble from the Chit Chat pieces using a piece of heavyweight acetate so it looks like it's floating.

My next card features the Hey Pumpkin Pumpkin Kitty SVG.  The little fella in the pumpkin candy pail was too cute to resist!

I added some candy pieces from the Odds & Ends Pack and candy corn from the Puffy Icons.  The sentiment speech bubble is from the Chit Chat pieces.

I created a tutorial a few years ago showing how I convert flat cut files to 3D cards.  You can find that here on the Doodlebug blog. It will give you a general idea on how to create your own box cards featuring Doodlebug's cut files!  That's it for me today, I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!

DOODLEBUG SHAKERS - SHAKER EMBELLISHMENTS | with Jen

I'm sure by now you have all figured out how much I love to make shakers! Whether I'm using them on a card, layout, or mini album I just love the interactive element they add. Today I have three shakers I made using the Doodlebug SVG files available in Lori Whitlock's shop. I used files from three different collections. I have a full recorded tutorial on how to manipulate the files in Cricut Design Space linked below.

First up is a fairly simple shaker using the Rainbow with Clouds from the Fairy Garden Collection. For this shaker I just used the cloud pieces for the shaker and filled them with Lily White Shaker Balls. This is a very basic shaker and not hard to make.

For my second shaker I stepped it up a bit and used the Winter Mountains from the Snow Much Fun Collection. For this shaker I used the main mountains to make to separate shakers and then layered them together to complete the overall shaker. I used the Ice Crystals and Flurry Shakers to fill. This is a very dimensional piece and would be great in a mini album.

And my last shaker I used the Cola image from Hello Again. For this shaker I made mini shakers out of some of the ice cubes inside the larger cola shaker. This one was a little bit trickier with the ice cube shakers inside, and the gap at the top of the cup between the lid and the "cola". The finished product is really fun and would be great as a card or on a layout.

Full video tutorial can be found here.  Thanks for stopping by!

MADE WITH LOVE LIFE'S SHORT. EAT CAKE LAYOUT | with Brianna

Happy Monday friends! I'm here today sharing a new layout featuring the Made With Love collection. In our family, we love to cook and bake. It's a way for us to spend quality time together, making delicious food from our hearts. We love to gather around the table and talk about anything and everything. Being back in our home state has allowed us to reconnect with our families more than just one time a year. We've really been enjoying it! Here's my page that documents a recent photo of one of our trips to my Moms house. This collection was absolutely perfect for this photo!

This collection is soft and pretty, so I thought I would pull out my large doily punch and punch some pretty edges into a few of the 12x12 patterned papers. I layered them together and popped them up on foam tape and set them aside to work on my background.

I went through the Made With Love coordinating cardstock pack and chose the Cupcake paper as my base. I thought it would make a pretty background! Before I adhered all of my punched papers down, I sprayed some white paint across my background for some extra interest and because I love the look of white paint on colored cardstock! Next, I matted my photo using the 6x6 Paper Pad and stuck it down towards the center of my page.

For my title, I chose a phrase from the Chit Chat pack and adhered it down where it would create a diagonal design across my layout. The Icing On The Cake Doodle-Pop was the perfect embellishment next to my title. I made the pink one look like it wrote the 'sugar' part of my title. How cute is that?!

Next, I took the other frosting bag and layered it on a cute cookie of the same color. I embellished using the Odds & Ends pack as well as the Mini Icons Stickers. Those little sprinkle bottles are so cute!!!!

I wanted to include a few smaller elements in my embellishment clusters, so I used the Bake Me Happy and With All My Heart Shape Sprinkles.

Here's one last look at this sweet page:

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way. I'll see you in my next post friends!

LOTS OF LOVE YOU HAVE MY HEART MINI | with Conny

Hi, it's Conny! Today, I'm sharing a mini album I created for my daughter Savanna. I used the Lots of Love collection to document her cute little face and let her know how much I love her with a special letter at the end. To make the album, you'll need three pieces of chipboard: - two covers measuring 6.5" x 5" - one spine measuring 6.5" x 1"
I started by wrapping the chipboard in the textured cardstock from the Lot of Love collection. Then, I used my sewing machine to add stitching to the covers. To bind the covers together, I used a piece of cardstock measuring 11" x 6 3/8". This also covers the chipboard on the inside of the album.
The binding is really easy - I used two standard eyelets at the top and bottom of the spine in the color pink and tied a stretchy string to keep the cards together. I got the cards from the Lots of Love coordinating card and envelopes assortment. The cards are 6 1/4" x 9" and scored at 4.5" on the longest side.
I just had a blast creating a heart shaker for the cover page of my project. To make it even more eye-catching, I spiced it up with some chit-chat, bits & pieces, and sprinkles. It looks stunning now!
Inside the album, I used some pretty patterned cardstock paper from the collection. I added my favorite photos and some fun embellishments to each page to make it pop! I hope my project inspires you to get creative and make something special too!
We can't wait to see what you create using the Lots of Love Collection.  Xoxo

HELLO AGAIN MINI ALBUM | with Conny

I am so excited to be here sharing a Mini album with this gorgeous Collection- Hello Again! I love everything in this collection, the gold details in everything are just Wow! The album measures 8.5” by 5”. I can’t wait to add photos of beautiful moments with my little one.
Let’s get started! You will need two chipboard pieces measuring 8 ½” by 5” for the covers and for the spine one 8 ½” by 1 ¼” piece.  You will also need 12” by 12”  Texture Cardstock, I chose blush and  and pistachio to wrap the chipboard pieces. For the spine you need 4 ¾” by 8 ½”  piece of cardstock.  Adhere the spine in the middle and score on both sides and fold paper inward. I also added stitching on the front and back cover with my Singer sewing machine!
Next step is to put the chipboard together to create an album.  Adhere the spine to the front and back cover of the album placing the flaps inside the leaving 1/8” gap so the album can open and close. Cover the inside of the album you will need two pieces of cardstock from the Hello Again Collection measuring 5 by 8 ¼”. I used the hearts side of the bright side cardstock.   I added a little pocket in the front.
Inside the Album, on the spine,  I added 3 flaps- First one: 6” by 2 ½” scored at 1 & 1 ½”. Second 6” by 2” scored at 3/4” and 1 ¼” and the third one 6” by 1 ½” scored at ¾” and 1”.  I used double sided tape in the middle and placed one on top of the other and adhered to the middle of the spine.
Let’s embellish the cover page, I added the Gold Dot heavy weight acetate centered leaving 1/8” for a border- I love the tiny gold polka dots, they're  beautiful! I centered clusters of florals from the Bits & Pieces – added foam adhesive for dimension! Then, Fancy Flutters Doodle Pops & gold sprinkles.
For the pages, I used both the 12” by 12” , 6” by 6” patterned papers and 12” by 12” solid textured cardstock to create pockets, pages and flip pages.  I embellished with cardstock stickers and Bits & Pieces.   I even created a cute tassel with the doddle twine in the new coral color!

Thank you once again for stopping by and we can’t wait to see what you create with Hello Again!

OVER THE RAINBOW BEACH NIGHT MEMORIES LAYOUT | with Lisa

Did you ever use a themed collection to create a project that had a different theme? Well, that's what I did for this layout. I used the new Over the Rainbow collection and created a summery layout. Even though the photo I documented was taken in spring, the beach always screams summer, right?

I started by making a mixed media background using watercolors. I primed my sheet of cardstock with white gesso to create a barrier between the color and the paper. That way, you're able to play with the color a lot longer and it'll not sink into the paper right away.

Then I started with some aqua watercolors that I used with a lot of water. I like to create a big splatter and then turn the page in different directions to let the color run over the paper.

I then use my heat gun to dry the layer (actually, you can use it to make the color go where you want and create fun waves) and start again, until I'm happy with the result. I did the same, using pink and gold.

When my page was dry and ready, I continued with a Doodlebug cut file. I used the Fairy Garden Lightning Bug Jar file and pieced it together with Doodlebug Textured Cardstock.

I love how cute this cut file looks... :) I matted my photo with two different patterned papers from the collection and the placed my two elements on the layout. I never really plan my mixed media background, so sometimes I need some time to see how to place my elements, so to not cover up too much of the color.

I adhered the cut file and photo and then went through the collection's embellishments to see what I could add.

I chose some clouds and a sun from the Odds & Ends pack. To fill the jar a bit more, I used heart stickers and I placed a teeny tiny doodle pop bird at the bottom of the page.  Talking of that, I wanted to create some kind of base for my jar. Since the photo I took was on the beach, I chose sand-colored textured cardstock from Doodlebug and created three layers of strips to make it look like the sand on the beach.

For the title, I used a Chit Chat word and some Sunshine alpha stickers. For some more finishing details, I used a pencil and drew lines and shadows on the jar and fireflies, drew some white dots "in" the jar and I splattered paint around the jar.

That's it! :) I think it turned out cute!  See you soon scrappy people.

CUTE & CRAFTY SHAKER CARDS | with Lisa

Yay for shaker cards!!!   Haha... I love shaker pockets and cards, don't you? For this project I decided to create three shaker cards, using a the Cute & Crafty Jars of Sprinkles cut file.

To start, I went through the new Cute & Crafty cut files and found this cute Jar of Sprinkles file. Since the jars are filled with glitter and sequins in reality, I thought it would be a cool idea to use those for my shaker cards and fill them too.
I cut all the pieces out, using different Doodlebug colored cardstock sheets. I cut out the container part twice; once like it was originally, the second one, I changed a bit, letting the machine cut out the inner part, so that I would have a window to back with acetate.

I adhered all of the pieces together after adding some ink around the edges, then I added some highlights with a white jelly pen.   I backed the "open" jar with a piece of acetate and then I put dimensional foam tape around all the edges.   To fill the little jar, I used three different "Sugar Coating" glitters and sequins. Then I added the "filled" jar on top, to close the shaker pocket.

For my card bases, I used three patterned papers from the collection, that had a white background. I cut them 8x8inches and folded them in the middle, to create an 8x4 card. I put some ink around the borders to create a frame and then adhered the little jars on top.   As a sentiment, I used three banners included in the "Chit Chat" die cuts. To finish the cards, I added two buttons to the top of each jar.

I think the cards turned out super cute and they can be used for every occasion.

Thank you so much for stopping by...
