MY HAPPY PLACE CARD SET | with Karen

Okay, you are not going to believe what just happened - I actually used my Doodlepops. If you are a Doodlebug fan like I am, you may understand the huge accomplishment that this is. Yes, the Doodlepops are the product I spend the most time admiring when a new collection comes out. And yes, they then usually go into my collection box where I have them all organized into theme (I blame my sticker collecting days as a child for this). But not today people, not today! Today, I made cards!

All-three

See - here's the thing with Doodlepops - they are perfect! With their layered textured and amazingly cute Doodlebug designs, they really are the perfect feature for a project.

And the shaker pop, like this one called Fineus and Friends, take detail and cuteness to the next level. For this card, I simply added a few pieces of the 6x6 paper onto one of the My Happy Place Cards & Envelopes, embellished with a few flower shapes from the Bits and Pieces and the card was finished in all it's layered cuteness!

In the end, I am not sure which one is my favourite. Then again, do I have to have a favourite?

All-three-2

So there you have it - Doodlepop success! I can't wait to actually give these away - if they don't end up in my collection box first! Baby steps people, baby steps!

Thanks for stopping by!

DOWN ON THE FARM CARDS | with Karen

So here's the thing - one of the things that I love about Doodlebug product are all the details you can find in the product designs. From the awesome printed papers to all the little shapes you can find in the Sprinkles and stickers, Doodlebug knows how to bring out the best in every product. But that does mean that sometimes I go a little overboard in my designs. MUST USE ALL THE CUTE PRODUCT!

So today, I decided to give myself a challenge - keep it clean and simple! I wanted to really features some of the cute detailed products, but with just one or two on each card. So here's the result:

Featuring the adorable Down on the Farm collection, I used the coordinating Cards & Envelopes together with some Doodlepops and some Shape Sprinkles and a few sentiments from the Chit Chat pack. That was really it!

This card, featuring the pig Doodlepop actually ended up being my favourite! I did add a few heats die cuts as well just for a bit more texture.

This card was actually inspired by the new shadowbox collection! I decided to fill the cute little peephole on the card with some shape sprinkles that tied to the sentiment. I love the fact that this one turned out gender neutral!

And finally, I did decide to use a few more elements on this card just to balance out the space a little more. A combination of a Doodlepop, a Shape Sprinkle and a few dies cuts, it's a few of each, but still a really simple design.

I honestly don't remember the last time I created a project that did not have a stitch of patterned paper on it, but I really love how these turned out (even if they took me forever to figure out and fiddle with - sometimes clean and simple just isn't so simple at all)! I hope you love them as much as I do!  Thanks for stopping by!

GREAT OUTDOORS DOODLEPOP CARDS | with Karen

Sooooo...I have a bit of a confession to make. I love Doodle-pops! Now, I know that might not sound like a big deal (because who doesn't love Doodle-pops), but the truth is that I love them so much that most of the time, I can't bring myself to use them. I have lost count of how many I have, but my collection keeps getting bigger and bigger because the Doodle-pops just keep getting cuter and cuter!

All-3-1

So for today's project I decided to force myself to make some cards with my favourite product. Because I have some special people that I want to say "thank-you" to, and special people deserve special Doodle-pops.

Bear

The Great Outdoors collection has been out on the kitchen table for just over a month now and the projects have been flying! I love this collection - the colours work for masculine and feminine cards and the characters are as cute as can be! Honey Bear was the first Doodle-pop to find a home on card...

Shaker

...followed very quickly by the amazing shaker Doodle-pop called S'more Fun! I am a sucker for a shaker, but I am usually too lazy to make them. Doodlebug always has my back!

Washi

Since I am already confessing, I should also let you know that I also collect washi tape, but what better place for a beautiful strip of washi than on a card. I actually ran a strip across the back of my white card base and then to coordinate - across the white envelopes that I was using as well. I love that these spots that I usually don't think much about get a little extra Doodlebug cuteness too!

Closeup-all-3

At the end of the day, I know that these Doodle-pop cards will bring as many smiles to the recipients as they do to me. And the best news is that now, I have more room for more Doodle-pops!

Thanks for stopping by!

HIPPITY HOPPITY EASTER TREAT BOXES | with Wanda

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm sharing some fun Easter Treat Boxes - decorated with the newest Doodlebug collection called Hippity Hoppity! Think bunnies and lambs and carrots and pretty pastel colors for Spring! Easter is my favorite holiday and I really enjoy making treats for friends and family during this time of year. There are so many pretty candies to give away. My treat boxes today come together quickly by using the fabulous Doodle Pops as my focal element.

1

I started this project by die cutting treat boxes from the awesome Buffalo Check paper pad in a soft sunny yellow. The perfect base for layering colors and elements. I wrapped papers around the bottom of the treat boxes and also layered green scalloped stickers. I topped them off with twine and mini clothespins in yellow.

A close up of the top element- Tie a bow with twine doubled up, attach with a clothespin, and finish off with a tiny carrot from the Sprinkles from this collection. So festive and cute!

I used the Chit Chat elements banners and word bubbles for the sayings on the boxes.

This little bun bun says "Happy Easter!"

This collection is so sweet and it's sure to make you happy while you're crafting treats, cards or scrapbook pages! I'll be back soon - have a great day!

VALENTINE'S EXPLOSION BOX | with Traci

Hello friends!  I have a really fun project to share with you today!  I was trying to come up with some different ideas for my Valentine gifts this year and I found this adorable explosion box on Lori Whitlock's site.  I paired the cutting file with some adorable Doodlebug petite prints and how stinkin' cute is this!?

I used petite prints for most of the project, but I threw in a cute pattern from the Love Notes collection for the front of the birdhouse.  Doodlebug plaids always make me happy!

The roof is pistachio (my fave doodlebug color these days) buffalo check/woodgrain and the dot print is my second favorite color (cherry)!  Who am I kidding ... ALL Doodlebug colors are my favorite.  That sweet little bird on the front can be found hanging out with the DoodlePop Hen and Chick :) and the heart is a DoodlePop called Be Mine.

When you open the explosion box, a fun little bird is hanging out inside, along with two pockets made of lemon linen (that's fun to say, LOL) that would be cute for pictures, notes, or gift cards!

So if you'd like to wow someone this Valentine's Day (or birthday, or any occasion!) you can find Lori's explosion box cutting file here .  Add a few petite prints, your favorite Doodlebug patterns, and some DoodlePops or Odds and Ends and you'll have a darling gift in no time!  Thanks so much for stopping by! Please share your projects with us on Facebook and Instagram @doodlebugdesigninc.
