MONSTER MADNESS FOLDOVER TREAT HOLDERS | with Karen

I am not exactly sure why, but it has been awhile since I had my colouring tools out on my crafty table. But when Doodlebug sent the new Monster Madness collection my way and I caught a glance of the new stamp collection, I knew what was in my near future. And let's just say that these stamps made me miss colouring!

Treat-2-All-1

Because, come on! It doesn't get cuter than these stamps. I mean, look at those cute faces! I decided to team them up with some of the 12x12 papers to create some little fold over treat containers.

Treat-2-Closeup-1

I stamped each monster and then coloured them up. I then fussy cute each one (the coordinating die cuts would also work but because I added some texture to one of the monsters, I just cut them by hand) and then used some foam adhesive to attach them at some different heights.

Treat-2-closeup-2

I used some mini clothes pins to hold the treat containers closed and embellished with some sentiments from the Chit Chat set and a few mini jewels. Oh, and can I just say that the striped paper that I used for the base has to be one of my favourite Doodlebug papers of all time! I had to flip it over to show you in this picture because the colours are jaw dropping!

Treat-2-All-2

Finally, I added a little bow and my little containers, with the most adorable monsters EVER, were all set to go (minus the treats). I think I will actually slide a monster cookie inside each one a little closer to Halloween, making a cute lunch treat for the family next week. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

SEASIDE SUMMER STAMPED CARDS | with Karen

As a born and raised Calgarian, I live about as far away from an ocean as you can get so I cannot tell you how excited I was when Doodlebug introduced their new collection - Seaside Summer. While I may not be able to get off to the ocean easily, at least I can now enjoy all the fun aspects of being at the beach right here on my crafty kitchen table! It's like a vacation right here in my home! And I don't even need to worry about shark bites and jelly fish stings (Doodlebug characters would NEVER)!

All-3-2

If you have followed my projects here with Doodlebug at all, you will know that my heart lies with the stamps, so I had to feature the "Sea Life" set for this first round of projects. I love this set because you can use these stamps for just about any kind of card you can imagine!

Die-cut

And as always, Doodlebug has created coordinating dies to make stamping and cutting out as easy as it can get. There is even a bonus die cut shown above in the picture that you will not find in the stamps.

It's a perfect addition to your little scenes - adding a bit more texture and depth to your work.

Octopus-Closeup

For the bases of the cards, I decided to team up the Cards & Envelopes with the Labels & Tags for the background of these cards. Together you get easy shapes that coordinate perfectly and add interest and texture to the base of your cards.

All-3-one

So ocean or not, this collection will have you o-fish-ially crafting the summer days away (sorry - couldn't help myself)! I know I can't wait to get onto my next project!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS MINI ALBUM AND GIFT BAG | with Shellye

It's a gift inside of a gift! Today I have a super cute "mini-mini" album that I've tucked inside of a simple-to-make tree gift bag!  Get that assembly line going...this would be the perfect little gift for snail mail, grandkids, or use them as a place setting treat.

I will have a YouTube video available of the tree-treat bag, but first, let's talk about the Gingerbread House Mini Mini!

I started with the "Visions of Sugarplums" Stamp and Die Set. The gingerbread house was stamped onto a piece of the Kraft Woodgrain (Buffalo Check Petite Prints) and then carefully trimmed out.  Next, I stamped the image again onto various papers of blue, red and green from the 6X6 "Night Before Christmas" Paper Pad.
As you can see, everything was paper-pieced into place.  White and red Sugar Coated glitters were used on the rooftop, steps and candy canes!

For the mini album pages, I used the same gingerbread house die to cut the shape from patterned papers and heavy-white cardstock. I layered the patterned papers (front and back) onto the white cardstock. Each of the pages were embellished and then added to a ring.

I used the completed album to figure out the size of the triangle-shaped gift bag.  To see how I put the bag together, please visit my YOUTUBE CHANNEL.

I completed the front of the tree bag with Doodle Frills, die-cuts and Doodle Pops!  The handle is a simple red/white chenille stem...voila!  Thank you for joining me today at Doodlebug Design!

NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS STAMPED CARDS | with Karen

I love making homemade Christmas cards. No, really - I do! I may not like the fact that I usually leave them to the last minute and feel the crunch of getting them done on time, but making Christmas cards is my jam! And this year, the fun has started with weeks to spare (yes, I know some of you start in July, but this is early for this last-minute crafter). And being able to use the new Christmas collection from Doodlebug called Night Before Christmas has reminded me why I really love this time of the crafty
year!

Because it really doesn't get cuter than this collection! And the fact that I have an excuse to craft with it every days for the next few weeks while I get my cards done is a great reason to smile!

For this first set of cards, I was actually inspired by the waving Santa and little dude! While they are totally cute just standing there and smiling, it also made me wonder what they would look like if I did some masking and made it look like they were holding something. And there are so many little accessory stamps in this collection that it could work with - like presents and stars and even hearts (oh, and the reindeer of course). So I gave it a go! At the end of the day, I am not sure which one is my favourite, but I love the idea that I could mix and match some more and have totally unique stamp designs for every card I send out this year.

Okay wait. Don't tell Santa, but I think this little cutie with the star is my favourite. Sorry Santa!

So if you are a last minute Christmas crafter like I am, this collection will have you covered! I guess that puts Doodlebug on the "nice" list, doesn't it? Not that there was ever a question...

Thanks for stopping by!

FATHER'S DAY GIFT CARD HOLDER AND CHOCOLATE WRAPPERS | with Karen

When I first discovered Doodlebug products, I was smitten. As a mom of two little girls, the cute products and bright colours were everything I was looking for to make adorable projects for my girls. But it wasn't long before I discovered ways that Doodlebug products were perfect for the men in my life too! With Father's Day around the corner, and given that both my husband and brother celebrate birthdays this month, this couldn't be a better time to show you what I mean! Case in point - these two chocolate bar wrappers that happen to also hold a gift card! Both of these were created for Father's Day, each with a bit of a different theme. It's a simple sleeve created with textured cardstock in grasshopper and dolphin, with a little 2" wrapper featuring the So Much Pun collection to hold everything together.
For the first theme, I decided to use the Far Out Doodle Stamps for the embellishment. Coloured up with alcohol markers, I used a sentiment that works for Father's day, birthdays or any other occasion and embellished with a few glitter Sprinkles and my favourite mini paper clips! And while it is clear that the Far Out Doodle Stamps are a perfect fit for all projects masculine, you might be surprised to find others that work in sets that appear feminine at first. This adorable truck is from the Flower Girl Doodle Stamps, but paired with some masculine colours and patterned paper, it's a perfect fit for the car lover or gardener in your life! Well, I've got a few more projects to make for the men in my life this month, so I better get back to the crafty table! Good thing I have some Doodlebug product to save the day! Thanks for stopping by!
