HOMETOWN USA 8x8 2 PAGE SPREAD | with Conny

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Conny here with the Hometown USA collection. Today, I created a two-page layout for the 8"x8" Storybook Album. I wanted to start filling this album with memories. While 8"x8" is not my usual size, I wanted to give it a try, and I think I loved this process.
I started by cutting two 8"x8" papers in the colors red and white from coordinating textured cardstock pack. Then I cut two pieces measuring 7.5" x 6" from the Plaid to be American paper. I also cut another red piece of cardstock measuring 4" x 7.5". For the photo bases, I used 3"x4" pieces of white cardstock matted on the fireworks side of the Plaid to be American paper. I matted the white cards, leaving a 1/4" inch around the white mat.

On the first page with the red background, I added the 7.5" x 6" piece of Plaid to be American paper at the bottom, leaving about an inch at the top. Then, I laid the piece of cardstock measuring 4" x 7.5", leaving about an inch at the top and bottom of the plaid. After that, I added a scallop strip from the This & That Sticker Sheet along the red cardstock.
I added the "Fireworks" and "July" from the Chit Chat pieces at the top using foam adhesive for dimension and some fireworks from the Odds & Ends around the title. At the bottom, I added two 3"x4" cards, one for a photo and the other for a 3"x4" journaling card. On the second page with the white background, I added the Plaid to be American paper measuring 7.5" x 6" on the right side, leaving space for the chit chat "Summer" on foam adhesive for dimension. Then I added the 3"x4" journaling card, matted the 3"x4" cards, and embellished them with mini icons and icons cardstock stickers. I also added a few chit-chat phrases like "Family Picnic" and "Memories." If you haven't tried these 8"x8" pages, I recommend them. I can't wait to add my new photo for the 4th of July. See you all soon with a mini album using HomeTown USA. Love, Conn

LAND THAT I LOVE DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT | with Traci

Happy July friends!  I'm excited to share a 12x12 double page layout with you today!  July 4th is one of my favorite holidays so I'm having a lot of fun playing with the new Land That I Love collection.
For the first page, I layered 2 shades of blue pattern paper for my base and then added a 5 3/4" striped border down the left side.
I added a 5 1/4" white mat over the stripe, along with a 5x7 photo and some cute red gingham paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  How cute are the new Sunshine alpha stickers!  Love these!  I'm definitely getting some in every color.

For the second page, I decided to use some cute 3x3 squares from the 6x6 paper pad to create a grid.  Then I had fun adding lots of die cuts from the Odds & Ends.

I journaled about the day on plain white card stock, trimmed it into a tag shape, and tucked it into a small 3x3 pocket.  The cute starburst topper is from the icon stickers, and look! ... the
Sunshine alphas come with numbers too!

I hope I've given you a few ideas for a fun double page layout, and I hope you have a wonderful July 4th holiday!!  Be sure to take pictures of your Land That I Love projects and share them with us!  We love to see what you're creating!

PARTY TIME DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT | with Traci

Oh my goodness these pictures!!  Don't you just love looking back at old family photos?  These are pics of my 25 year old son's first birthday. I found them all on a layout that I did in 1995, but the page had gotten torn. I decided to update the layout with Party Time papers and embellies, create a two page layout, and use the photos exactly as I had in 1995 ... hence the reason they are all wonky sizes.
This is a super easy double-page layout that you can easily do if you have lots of photos.
For the first page, I started with the dark blue "hats off" 12x12 background.  I layered a piece of 11.5" x 11.5" white card stock in the center of the blue, and then a piece of "party time" aqua paper cut to 11.25" x 11.25".  I did my journaling on a cute card from the "wrap it up" sheet, and layered that in the upper left corner with lots of fun balloons and die cuts from the Party Time odds & ends.  Next I layered my pictures, just as they were from my 1995 layout, onto a 3 1/2" x 11.25" band of "hats off" and added it to the page with a strip of candles from "party boy".
For the second page, I just repeated all of my steps, except that the aqua "party time" paper was cut to 7.25" x 11.25".  I added some pops of yellow and orange from the collection and finished my layout with lots more die cuts.
I'm glad I had my camera and snapped every minute of this cake adventure!  And I'm also glad I have Party Time to make my pictures even cuter!
We'd love to see your Party Time and Hey Cupcake projects!  Tag Doodlebug on your posts so we can see!
