6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - DECEMBER ALBUM | with Erica

Hello crafty friends! Happy New Year! Erica here and I’m so excited to share my latest project for the Doodlebug Design creative team! We are sharing our album covers using the 6x8 mini albums and I am using one in the Cupcake color. Using the adorable and festive Tinsel Time collection, I created a bright and cheerful cover that sets the tone for all the holiday memories inside.

To start, I added a scalloped border sticker from the This & That Sheet along the left edge of the album cover. This simple step frames the design beautifully and introduces a pop of coordinating color. Next, I chose a large Chit Chat title piece to anchor the design. Its bold, festive typography serves as the centerpiece of the cover and instantly grabs attention.

I added various Odds & Ends pieces around the title to build a layered and dimensional design. Next I added some of the Tinsel Time sprinkles around the center and on the die cut pieces for some sparkle and texture! For the finishing touches, I tied some trims around the album, adding texture and movement. I also attached the Just Charming clip for a decorative accent that ties everything together.

I absolutely love how this album cover turned out! The soft pink of the Cupcake album pairs perfectly with the festive elements from the Tinsel Time collection. The layered ephemera and playful details make this cover a joyful introduction to the memories it holds. It’s colorful, whimsical, and filled with holiday cheer!

I hope this project inspires you to create your own album cover. I'll be back with some of the inside of my album my next post.  What are you crafting this holiday season? Let me know in the comments below!

FARMHOUSE THANKSGIVING LAYOUT | with Erica

Hi friends! Erica here today sharing a 12x12 layout using the Farmhouse collection!

I wanted to create a simple clean design but add a pretty detail under my layers with one of my favorite border punches!

I started with a 12x12 piece of Lily White Textured Cardstock. I cut out some strips of pattern papers from the Farmhouse collection. Starting with 2.50" x 12" and adhered along the left side of my layout about and inch and a half in from the left. I tucked in two border punched strips in the layers and I love the little detail it adds to the layout.

Next I created a photo mat to go horizontal on my page with some of the Farmhouse coordinating textured cardstock . Next I added one of the border stickers from the 12x12 Farmhouse sticker sheet.

To finish up the layout I created two embellishment clusters with Farmhouse Odds & Ends, Icon stickers and some shape sprinkles!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout and give this simple design a try!

HEY PUMPKIN HALLOWEEN NIGHT LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here sharing a 12x12 layout using the new and adorable Hey Pumpkin collection.

I started with a cut file that I cut out with some Beetle Black textured cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo. I backed the file with papers from the Hey Pumpkin 6x6 paper pad and the 12x12 Hey Pumpkin coordinating cardstock pack.

Once the cut file was backed I popped it up with some foam adhesive. For my layout base I used a lily white textured cardstock trimmed down to 11.25 square and matted it onto some beetle black textured cardstock to help it pop. Next I added the 12x12 boo-tiful bouquet paper mat.

I used one of my favorite background stamps to create splatter around the layout to add a little something behind the cut file. Next I adhered the cutfile to my layout and then added my photos. For my title I picked two chit chat words and adhered them under my photos.

I wanted to keep it simple on the embellishments so I added a few puffy icon stickers around the Halloween Wreath. I also wanted to use a couple of the adorable puffy ghost stickers so I added them around the title.

I love how the layout turned out using the Hey Pumpkin collection! Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

FUN AT THE PARK HAPPY MEMORIES LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share a 12x12 scrapbook layout using the Fun at the Park collection.

I decided to use this collection to document photos that are not from "the park" and just some photos of my daughter and her boyfriend in front of the Ferris wheel!

I started by picking out some basic papers from the Fun at the Park collection and trimmed down five of them to 2" x 9" strips and adhered them to a piece of 12x12 Lily White cardstock. Next I pulled out some non themed embellishments and then die cut some stitched hearts! I knew I wanted to add a line of embellishments going down the left side of the page.

I started by adding the largest hearts first and then filling in with odds & ends, fussy cut elements, icon stickers and sprinkles!

I matted my photos onto some pattern paper from the 6x6 Fun at the Park paper pad and adhered down to the page. I used two chit chat pieces for my title and placed them under the photo.

This layout was really fun to put together using it for a different theme than being at the park! I love all the bold black elements in this collection and I think they pop with the black and white photos! I have a lot of stitched hearts left so I am going to challenge myself to create another non themed layout!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you are inspired to give this collection a different look at use it for non themed photos!

SEASIDE SUMMER GOOD TIMES LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here with you today sharing a colorful 12x12 scrapbook layout using the Seaside Summer collection!

Seaside Summer is one of my favorite Doodlebug Collections and it is perfect for all your summer memories! I started my layout with one of my exclusive cut files that I cut out with some Lily White Doodlebug Design Textured Cardstock.

I backed the leaves in the Tropical Wreath cut file with 12x12 and 6x6 papers from the Seaside Summer collection. I added foam adhesive all over the backed cut file and adhered down to a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down and matted onto the Flamingo Frenzy 12x12 paper.

Next I added some Seaside Summer odds & ends around the wreath and popped each die cut up with foam adhesive to give the wreath some dimension and interest.

I created a couple embellishment clusters with the popped up Seaside Summer odds & ends. My photos are printed out in black & white and matted onto some 6x6 patterned paper. I placed my summer photos in the center of the wreath and used one of the Seaside Summer cardstock stickers to the bottom of the photos.

To finish off the layout I added a flower die cut to the top of my photos along with a word sticker from the 12x12 sticker sheet. For a little more interest I added some sweet sprinkles around the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you are inspired to create using the Seaside Summer collection!

HOMETOWN USA WREATH LAYOUT | with Erica

What is one design that you can do over and over again on your scrapbook pages? For me it is a wreath design or large circular element in the center! Today I have a fun layout using the Hometown USA collection to share with you.

I am using some Lily White Textured Cardstock for my base and I have trimmed it down to 11.50" square. Next I layered a piece of solid cardstock and a 12x12 pattern paper from the Hometown USA collection.

I used a large circle template to draw a circle in the middle of the layout base and then began to adhere some of the large acetate fireworks from the Bits & Pieces pack.

Next I added a second and third layer of fireworks using more acetate, Icon stickers and Odds & Ends. I used foam adhesive to adhere them down to give them a lot of dimension.

After all the layers were down I went in with smaller elements from the Hometown USA collection like puffy icon stickers, sprinkles and mini icon stickers. I matted my photos on some pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered to the layout.

I created a smaller cluster of embellishments above the photos and added one of the Chit Chat pieces for my title below the photos!

I just love how it turned out and how easy it was to create the wreath! There are so many little elements around the wreath giving it so much dimension and interest! Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

HOMETOWN USA 4TH OF JULY MINI ALBUM | with Erica

Every June I like to create a simple mini album base to document our 4th of July memories! This year I am using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection!

I have had a pack of red coil in my stash forever and I thought it would be perfect with the Hometown USA collection. I started with the coordinating 12x12 textured cardstock assortment pack and trimmed down some of the papers to 8"x5.25"for my mini album page bases.

Next I trimmed down some of the 12'x1 Hometown USA pattern papers to 7.25"x5" and glued them to the mini album base pages. Some of the pages I wanted to created a pocket so I created 12"x5.25" pages and scored at 8" on the long side. Then I added adhesive to create the pockets.

Once all the pages were covered with pattern papers I punched holes with my Cinch. This is one of my favorite ways to create mini albums. Next I ran the coil through each of the holes and trimmed it down.

I embellished each page lightly with Odds & Ends, Chit Chat pieces and Icon cardstock stickers. My pages are ready to add photos and journaling and even more embellishments this year! I can easily add more pages if needed!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog! I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to create your own July album to document your memories!

HOMETOWN USA HAPPY 4TH OF JULY LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share my first layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection!

I started with a cut file that I cut out on some Lily White Textured Cardstock. I backed the file with Hometown USA 12x12 & 6x6 papers and the adorable Festive Fireworks 12x12 Acetate! The Festive Fireworks Acetate was the perfect finishing piece to the cut file.

I trimmed down some Lily White Cardstock to 11.25" x 11.25" and then added some silver mist to the cardstock. Once the mist was dry I adhered the cut file down with some foam adhesive and then matted the trimmed cardstock base to some pattern papers from Hometown USA.

Next I matted my 3 photos onto some pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered down to the layout.

Then I pulled out all the Hometown USA embellishments and added odds & ends and cardstock stickers around the layout. I love the firework odds & ends so added a lot of them around the page. To finish off the layout I added some Doodlebug Design sprinkles around the page.

Here is a look at my completed 12x12 layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!
