DOODLEBUG SHAKERS - SHAKER EMBELLISHMENTS | with Jen

I'm sure by now you have all figured out how much I love to make shakers! Whether I'm using them on a card, layout, or mini album I just love the interactive element they add. Today I have three shakers I made using the Doodlebug SVG files available in Lori Whitlock's shop. I used files from three different collections. I have a full recorded tutorial on how to manipulate the files in Cricut Design Space linked below.

First up is a fairly simple shaker using the Rainbow with Clouds from the Fairy Garden Collection. For this shaker I just used the cloud pieces for the shaker and filled them with Lily White Shaker Balls. This is a very basic shaker and not hard to make.

For my second shaker I stepped it up a bit and used the Winter Mountains from the Snow Much Fun Collection. For this shaker I used the main mountains to make to separate shakers and then layered them together to complete the overall shaker. I used the Ice Crystals and Flurry Shakers to fill. This is a very dimensional piece and would be great in a mini album.

And my last shaker I used the Cola image from Hello Again. For this shaker I made mini shakers out of some of the ice cubes inside the larger cola shaker. This one was a little bit trickier with the ice cube shakers inside, and the gap at the top of the cup between the lid and the "cola". The finished product is really fun and would be great as a card or on a layout.

Full video tutorial can be found here.  Thanks for stopping by!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KIT FAIRY GARDEN | with Nathalie

Who doesn't love a touch of cuteness in their home?!  Well, there is nothing cuter than the new Shadow Box Inserts from Doodlebug.  And to make it even cuter, I have chosen the new  Fairy Garden Insert to create a new décor piece for my dresser.

I followed the step-by-step instructions to create the vignette on top of the vellum piece from the kit

I chose different widths of foam adhesive when attaching some of the stickers to the vellum.  I love the play on dimension and different heights in the pieces.

I decided to cut the white cardstock into an circle to match the circumference of embellishments, then mounted it on a piece of Bubblegum petite prints.

To finish my piece, I am thinking about rotating the sentiment piece on the shadow box, so that it always feels new on my dresser. Make sure you check the new Shadow boxes and inserts from Doodlebug, you are going to love them!

HIPPITY HOPPITY EASTER GRATITUDE JOURNAL | with Nathalie

Who is ready to host Easter celebrations in their homes? Well, we are! And it will be the first major celebration in two years (i.e.post COVID); this means I will be a tad busy with cleaning, cooking, and entertaining.  So, what better way to speed my memory documenting than to prep my layout for the day.

Most of my daily documenting is held in notebooks, and layouts.  So, today I want to give you a glimpse at my Gratitude journal entry for the day ( and all I have to do is add photos and  my story!!!)

I started with strips of Petite Print in as an anchor for the layout.  Then added small strips of Cute & Crafty paper helps to bring all the colors of the embellishments in to the page.  I added a cluster of embellishments to the top left corner of the page, plus added a few photo maps and extra embellishments to the page.

To balance the page, I am using more Hippity Hoppity Odds and Ends, and Doodle pops to create a large embellishment cluster at the bottom right of the page... I just love those cute little bunnies!

To finish the page, I am using My Type Alpha Stickers ( and when "E" is out, then backwards "3" do the trick) and more embellishments from Hippity Hoppity to complete my title.

Now all that is left is to enjoy the day, print the photos and voila! done!   I hope this gives you an idea or two for your Easter memory documenting!  I hope you had a blessed Easter!

HIPPITY HOPPITY & FAIRY GARDEN SPRING LAYOUT | with Erica

Hi friends! Erica here with you today sharing a 12x12 scrapbook layout using a mix of Fairy Garden and the Hippity Hoppity collection.

I started by cutting out some thin strips of pattern paper and adhered to the left side of my page. I punched my photo out using a large circle punch and matted it on some die cut circles from my stash.

I added some foam adhesive to the back of my photo and placed it in the center of the page and started to embellish around it. I used some large garden flowers and filled in some of the spaces with smaller die cuts from Hippity Hoppity and the Fairy Garden collections.

To bring in some other textures I added some shape sprinkles and popped up some winged friends from both collections!

The bunnies in the Hippity Hoppity collection are so darn cute so I added a couple of them to my page since we are wearing bunny ears in the photo.

For my title I used one of the Hippity Hoppity Chit Chat pieces and added some typed journaling towards the bottom right corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout mixing up Fairy Garden and the Hippity Hoppity collections!

FAIRY GARDEN ACRYLIC TAB ALBUM | with Traci

Happy Spring everyone!  This is my favorite season of the year so it was easy for me to pick a theme for this week's project  -- sunshine, flowers and rainbows!  And Fairy Garden was the perfect collection!

For this mini, I used an acrylic tabbed album and lots of DoodlePops!  Actually, that adorable sunshine on the cover is a Shaker-Pop called Sunsational.  I also used Double Rainbow because I wanted one on the front cover and one backing it on the inside.  Isn't the little row of hearts cute??  The cloud and hearts are from another Doodle-Pop called Over the Rainbow.

When you open the cover, the pieces on the front cover show through the clear acrylic, so I covered up the adhesive side with additional Doodle-Pops.  This sun is called Fun in the Sun and I just love that sweet smiling face and the epoxy rays.

I used 12x12 and 6x6 patterns from the collection to create photo mats and layers.  I also had fun hunting through the odds & ends to find pieces that back up to each other nicely ... like this snail and mushroom.  There's a lilac snail and a lime mushroom on the other side :)

I wanted a journaling spot in the album so I created a little flippie so photos could hide inside.  They will look really cute on the plaid mats!

Did you see all of those cute shape sprinkles on the tabs?  I think they add a fun touch across the top of the album.  They are from Hello Sunshine, With All My Heart, and Chasing Rainbows.

I hope this Spring album inspires you to create a fun project with Fairy Garden!  Thanks for letting me share my newest mini with you!

FAIRY GARDEN GRATITUDE JOURNAL SPREAD | with Nathalie

Spring is here! and it is time to start thinking about all those happy and colorful celebrations together with family.   And what better way to bring a touch of happiness and color to a project than with the Fairy Garden Collection.

This collection is one of my favorites, and perfect to document pictures of my littlest cousins -and the bond they are forming- in my gratitude journal.

I started by adding a piece of patterned paper to the bottom edge of my notebook.   I used the 6x6 paper pad from Lots of Love collection to build layers behind the photo.  I pulled a few floral pieces from the collection to create the cluster at the bottom corner of the photo.

For my title, I combined Chit Chat  and Odd & Ends Pieces from Fairy Garden and adding a few My Type alphas.  Those little banners were perfect for this page!

I used the half of the second page of my spread to add my journal lines.  I added a small cluster of embellishments to balance the rest of the page.  I just love how this turned out!

I cannot wait what you all create with all your Doodlebug Cuteness!  XO

DOODLEBUG CUT FILES LOVE YOU FRIEND LAYOUT | with Lisa

Doodlebug cut files are just the best for fast and cute layouts :) I LOVE them! For this layout, I decided to go with three different cut files to scrap a photo I took in Hawaii.

So I chose a palm tree cut file, a pineapple cut file and a sun cut file, all from Fun at the Park. After my machine had cut all of the pieces, I assembled them. What I like to do before assembling, is inking with a dauber and my Distress Oxides to give the pieces more dimension and shadows.

Then I prepared my background. I used a baby wipe and my Gelatos in pink, yellow and blue to put some color down. Then I used a dauber and white acrylic paint to make some dots and make it look a bit like bokeh. I really love this technique, it's so easy and so cute. I also splattered some white paint on the page.

When the background was dry, I placed all my pieces on it. I matted my photo with four ripped pieces of patterned paper and placed it on the layout. Since the bottom was a bit naked, I decided to use two ripped strips of a green paper with flowers from the Fairy Garden collection.

Then I went through the flowers from the Lots of Love Bits and Pieces and used a lot of those to decorate my page. I added jewels to the centers of the flowers. I really love how that looks.
For my title, I used Limeade Abigail alpha stickers and a blue Chit Chat die cut word.

This layout came together super fast, thanks to the cut files and looks so summery that I can't wait to finally have warm weather again. :) (Today was sunny but freeeeeeeezing cold...)

FAIRY GARDEN SPRING NOTEBOOK | with Miguel

Without a doubt, notebooks are something that I particularly like to do, since you can give them a personal touch and decorate them the way you like.  I created this notebook with an idea that I saw on social media,  and I worked to create my own version. What is different about this notebook is that on its cover you place acrylic beads with different colors and designs to add more fun to the project.

I punched holes with a Crop-a-dile on the upper and lower part of the cover and I strung beads on the thread to make four columns then fastened the thread with the eyelets.  I loved the result!  I bound my notebook with my Cinch tool.  I used doodlebug's Fairy Garden Collection to line my covers and decorated with odds & ends, stamps and shaped sprinkles.

Thanks for stopping by and reading, see you soon!

FAIRY GARDEN WATERFALL FOLIO ALBUM | with Traci

Hello Friends!  I've been playing with one of my favorite Doodlebug collections this week (Fairy Garden) and I'm excited to share this project with you!  It's a waterfall style folio album, which I love, because you get to see layers of pretty paper!

To make the base of the album, I used white card stock and chipboard.  Although not exactly the same, I have a tutorial for a similar album over on my blog and you can get measurements and instructions HERE.

I used my cutting machine to add a circle in the front cover, but you could also use dies or a circle punch.  Under the circle inside, I layered paper and part of a scallop punch onto a white envelope from the Lots of Love collection, and included a magnet so that my flap would stay shut.

I added a few cute cards from the Fairy Garden 6x6 paper pad on the front of the card and tucked it inside the little 2x3 envelope.  This will be a cute place for a note when I give this little album to a friend.

See, there are all those pretty layers of colorful paper!  For the front of the waterfall, I wanted to mimic the circle shape in the cover window so I punched out a 3" circle and a 2 1/2" scallop circle, then added the "pièce de la résistance" ... that adorable flower bouquet DoodlePop!  So pretty!

I embellished some of the pages with This & That stickers, Odds & Ends, and Chit Chat and my album was done!  I can't wait to add photos on the other pages ... up to 14 photos will fit in this fun little book.

Well, like the sticker says, you brighten my day and I hope my project has brightened yours!
