DINO-RAWR-SOME CARD | with Karen

Now don't get me wrong - I love cute little unicorns as much as the next person. But every now and again, I have to say that nothing beats a fantastic little dinosaur! Rawrrrr! And with Doodlebug's awesome colour coordinated products, you can mix and match to your hearts content! Have a little girl with a birthday coming up who happens to love dinosaurs? No problem! Use one of the new doodle stamps, like this cutie from the "dino-mite" set, and colour her up to match some fun papers from the "fairy tales" collection. It' as easy as that! And for even more fun, add some embellishments like these cute cloud stamps that happen to be from another fun stamp set that called "rainbows and unicorns". You'll have a card design that will look like it was always meant to be!
So don't be afraid to mix and match and create a card or project that is uniquely you! The only draw back is that you might have a hard time giving it away!
Thanks for stopping by!

IT'S ALL RAINBOWS & UNICORNS | with Kathy

Not much makes me happier than a Doodlebug Rainbow... with the possible exception of a rainbow with a unicorn thrown in!  So it's no surprise that I immediately fell in love with the adorable Rainbows & Unicorns Doodle Stamps & Dies!  I decided to add the stamped images to a fun rainbow window slider  card.  Take a peek...

The card lays flat for mailing, but when you pull the slider tag back, it reveals the sentiment!  I edited a cut file from Lori Whitlock to make the rainbow slider part, then pieced it all together with a rainbow of Doodlebug Papers!  Here is a close-up...

I love how the rainbow forms when you  pull back the slider!  Of course I had to add some Glitter Sprinkles!
Have you made anything using our Rainbows & Unicorns Stamps?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook & Instagram, we would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Fairy Tales Mini Album | with Tya

If  I had to pick a favorite Doodlebug collection and believe me, this is hard - I would have to say the Fairy Tales collection. It is classic Doodlebug with all the bright colors and whimsical icons. I have been hoarding this just waiting for inspiration to hit and I think I found it! I created this handmade mini album and would love to share it with you today!
Because this album is chock full of flips and flaps and pockets, this would be a very photo heavy post, so I made a little walkthrough video for you to see the inside of the album. It is 6 pages. I constructed it with chipboard and cardstock and used this tutorial to make the pages.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today and peek at my video. If you have any questions, please let me know!

MAKE A WISH BIRTHDAY CARD | with Karen

March to July in my house is birthday season. Little girls together with the men in my life all seem to have birthdays during these months, so between crafting and cake baking, it is full-on for 5 months. But the time has come - the last birthday is on the horizon and I am celebrating!! Now don't get me wrong, with amazing products like the Fairy Tales collection teamed up with the new Rainbows and Unicorns stamp set, it doesn't get much more fun then pulling together projects like this little birthday card. Add some glitter sprinkles and some mini paper clips and doilies, and the cards are flying off of the crafty table! But there is something to be said for crafting just for the fun of it. And I can't wait to do just a little bit more of that in the next little while.
So here's to celebrations - of special events and of breaks from special events!
Thanks for stopping by, Hugs,

MULTIPLE COLLECTIONS = ONE ADORABLE 3D TYPEWRITER | with Jennifer

Recently someone asked me if I had ever made a paper crafted typewriter. I told them I hadn't, but it had been on my "to do" list for quite some time. Well, since the design team and I were given a free month to create whatever we wanted, I thought now would be a perfect time.

This cute Doodle pop sticker from the So Punny collection was my inspiration and here's what I came up with.

Below you can see a few pictures of the piece coming together.
  • After framing out the main shape of the typewriter with foam board, the piece was covered with layers of chipboard.
  • Wood wheels, a dowel, two mini spools, and cardboard tube were used to create the carriage.  The handle on the left is an Allen wrench wrapped with patterned paper.
  • For the keys, layers of chipboard circles were used.
Here are some close ups of the finished typewriter.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting! :)

Birthday Mini Album | with Caroli

Fairy Tales is one of my favorite collections by Doodlebug so far as I love unicorns and rainbows so much. Last year, my little girl decided that the theme of her birthday party was unicorns and rainbows, and the first thing that came to my mind was “I will make a mini album with Fairy Tales for documenting the party!!!” The party was awesome, my girl spent a great day with friends and family and I snapped lots of photos for the mini, which I want to share with you today.
I went for a simple a wire binding with my Cinch binder and hot pink wire. I used some organza ribbon to tie it up and keep my mini closed. And I love combining pages of different lengths, this way the design of the mini is more fun and interesting.
As on most of my mini albums, I used vellum to print my journaling. I think that journaling is a fundamental part of a mini, because it helps us reminding the Little details and the story behind the photos we used. In this case, I first journal about the theme of the party and how we enjoy that day, and decorated the vellum page with some diecuts from the Odds&Ends pack.
I love the transparency effect of vellum, it not only features my thoughts and feelings about that day, but also makes a great decorative element of the mini.
I pointed out all the important things of the party like the birthday girl, the food or the the cake, using Teensy Typo and Abigail alphas.
In this mini I combined printed journaling with some words I wrote using Teensy Typo alpha. I love the how this page came out, this is something I will definitively repeat on future projects.
A final note to my birthday girl about the feelings and thoughts of such party day and my mini is finished!
I love how this mini came out, so colorful and funny. Also, I love it because of the happy day it documents and because unicorns and rainbows!!!
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this Project and got some inspiration for working on your scrapbooks. If you have any question just leave me a comment, have a lovely day!

Partying it Up: 3D Unicorn Party with How-To Instructions by Jennifer Beason

Hello, everyone. Jennifer here and today I'm kicking off Doodlebug's "Partying it Up" Challenge. I love creating for birthday parties, and with all the cutting files DB has to offer, creating your own custom party decor couldn't be easier. I have 3 projects to share today, all of which use the unicorn icons from the Fairy Tales cutting file collection.
My first project is this fun centerpiece. It would look great on the party table, but I also wanted to make sure it could be used as a decor piece after the party was over. So with that in mind, I kept the title neutral. But the pinwheels, glitter sprinkles, and rainbow patterned paper all give it a festive feel.
Here's how I put it together.
After laying out my project with Silhouette software, I cut out the pieces in layers. Because this is a double-sided project, the mirror side of most of the pieces were also cut.
I used my Silhouette to cut each piece out of thin chipboard, then (except where noted) the pieces were mounted to foam board and cut out by hand. Once all the pieces were cut out, I printed the mane, tail, horn, face, and ear on white cardstock cut them out and glued them in place.
The base was cut out of four layers of foam board, or you can use 1-inch foam board. Once you get to this point, you can have fun embellishing your unicorn, as you wish. Here are a few close-ups of the finished piece.
Chunky twine was glued to the edges of the unicorn and glitter was applied to the mane, tail, and horn.
Pinwheels, glitter sprinkles, and chipboard stars were added to the base.
A chipboard banner with stitched detail and a colorful title was attached as well.
No party would be complete without treats, so I made some matching lollipop holders.
Below you can see how I created the holders using the Silhouette software.
Once the pieces were cut, printed and put together, they were embellished with glitter, sprinkles, twine and flower stickers.
Here's a better look at one close up.
And here you can see a couple with the centerpiece.
For my last project, I decided to combine the dancing unicorn, stars, hearts, clouds, and rainbow cutting files to create a wall hanging.
This project was made in a similar way to the centerpiece, with layers of foam and chipboard.
I added chipboard stars to the piece with some thin wire.  Beads and hearts were attached to the lower part of the clouds using string.
Thanks so much for joining me today. Come back tomorrow and all this week for more party ideas.   Jennifer
