FARMERS MARKET VEGGIE GARDEN PILLOW BOXES | with Karen

Every morning, my four-legged furry beast wakes me up with the sun for our 5:30am "walkies". But a funny thing happened this last week - it was clearly noticeable that morning walks have gotten darker and chillier. Fall is knocking on the door and answering the knock means the start of canning season, apricot and plum dumpling season, and all things spicy and comforting. And I am here for it!

All-three-1

Featuring the AMAZING Farmers Market collection for my post this week was the perfect way to kick off my seasonal celebrations! This collection captures everything that is wonderful about the Fall, in all the amazing Doodlebug colours we have come to expect. Bright, rich and spicy is everything I love about the season, and it's all wrapped up in this collection.

I decided to have some fun and play with the Veggie Garden Odds & Ends pack to decorate up some pillow boxes made as thank-you gifts.

Closeup-1

The start of my summer was met with a huge hail storm that wiped out my garden, so "harvesting" these cuties for the pillow boxes made up for missing out on this fun fall task! And I do have to say that sorting through the die cut characters to "harvest" the ones I wanted was the perfect way to heal a broken gardening heart! I simple layered them on top of each other to create some little scenes that were unique to each box.

Open-shot

I filled each with some cute mini fruit-flavoured candies, but the great thing about a project like this is that it can hold anything - a gift card, little piece of jewelry - whatever works for you!

All-three-2

With the addition of a little sentiment I printed out, these are all set to go! So if you are all ready for the Fall, grab this amazing collection and get started. And if not, grab it anyway - because like it or not, fall is knocking! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

PUMPKIN SPICE NUGGET JAR | with Kathy

Fall is by far my favorite time of year.  It's still warm enough to be outside a lot, but with a nice crisp touch to the air!  The colors, the food... it's all awesome!  Another fun part of autumn... Doodlebug Collections!  While we are im(patiently) waiting for the new collections to arrive we are featuring some of our favorites from the past.  I got to play with one of the all time greats... Pumpkin Spice!  I decided to make a fun nugget box featuring a Pumpkin Spice SVG file and lots of goodies from the collection.  Take a peek...

I started with the Pumpkin Spice Tall Jar SVG file.  I edited the file in my Silhouette software to have an open front and cut out two, one for the front, one for the back.  I covered the openings with some acetate.  Next, I added added some sides.  I cut a 1.5" strip of paper, the length of the sides and bottom combined.  I scored the strip to create a U shape, then I scored the long sides .25" in on each side to make tabs to glue to the front and back. I did have to trim the tabs a bit so they didn't show through the acetate.  I made my base from white cardstock for some strength, and then re-cut the jars in patterned papers to cover.

I covered each of the nuggets with a strip of paper.  The strips measured approximately 1"x 3.25". I then filled my jar!

And of course I had to add a cute little face using some beetle black petite prints and some sprinkles.

I finished my jar with a cute little tag I cut using the Large Tags Doodle Cuts.  I added some stickers from the mini icons sticker sheets and the stamped sentiment is from the Pumpkin Spice Doodle Stamp set.  I think this will make a fun gift for a good friend!

If you have any fun Pumpkin Spice Projects, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

GREAT OUTDOORS EMBELLISHMENT BOX | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a project using the new fall collection, Great Outdoors. I decided to make a little box full of embellishments!

For the box, I used the 6 x 6 paper pad. I used a full sheet scored on all four sides at 1.5" for the base. And a 4 x 4 square scored at 0.5" on all four sides for the lid. I added some ephemera pieces to embellish and added a twine closure.

This box perfectly fits the circle embellishments I made using my circle punches. Each circle is punched out twice, popped up with foam tape, and stitched.

I love all the little animals in this collection and wanted to feature several of them layered on these embellishments. The embellishments have sprinkles from the collection and a sentiment from the 12 x 12 sticker sheet.

I hope you liked seeing details of this project! Happy Crafting!

PUMPKIN SPICE FALL GNOME | with Jennifer

Hello Doodlebug friends. It's finally Fall, and I, for one, am looking forward to some cooler days. Today I have a project to share using the new Pumpkin Spice collection. Hopefully, it will make you feel like Autumn is here, even if you're like me and live in sunny Florida.

I loved all the cute smiling leaves from the collection and wanted to use them in my project. After scouring the Silhouette Design Store, I found an adorable gnome pushing a wheelbarrow and thought it would be the perfect fit for the leaves.

Here you can see the gnomes layers. The thickest point is the hat, which is eight layers thick.

After making the gnome, wheel barrow and base out of foam board and chipboard, I covered the pieces with patterned paper.

For the gnome's hat, I made a pom-pom using a combination of 3 chunky twine colors. Sprinkles, a button, and a few feathers were also used to embellish a small patch on his hat.

Leaves from the cutting file and the Odds and Ends set were layered together and placed in the wheelbarrow. I used a lot of sprinkles throughout this project, including the leaves and wheelbarrow.

I used more die-cuts on the base, some doodle pop mushrooms, and a fox. Finally, some grass cut from cardstock was used to add a woodsy feel to the piece.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Fall, everyone! :)
