Thankful For Challenge: Thank You Bunches Gift Set

Hello Doodlebug fans -  It's Tya and I am happy to be on the blog today sharing with you my project  I made for the Thankful For You Challenge. I chose to make a little gift set that would be perfect to give to someone you are thankful for - whether it is a friend, family member or just someone who you think needs a little pick me up - this fun little set is a great way to say thank you. The Flea Market collection is such a adorable collection and had so many great elements that made creating  this set so easy.
I chose to make a berry basket and a card using some cut files and my Silhouette Cameo. The berry basket can be found here.  The card can be found here.

Here are a few close ups of the project:

This card is called a Wedding Ring Card - it is resembles a quilt pattern which I loved and added to the vintage theme of the collection. I used a few papers from the 6x6 pad and some brown cardstock to make this card.

I cut the "thanks a bunch" sentiment from the paper with the sentiment strips. I also added a small yellow flower sticker from the icon sticker sheet and added a brown glitter sprinkle for a little bling.

The berry basket cut file was so fun to use. I cut the basket from some wood grain paper and then added a hexagon pattern paper for the edges. I filled the basket with some paper shreds and then added some pumpkin cookies to a cello bag and placed that inside the basket.

To decorate the front of the basket, I added a swimming pool doily, a scallop tag and yellow flower and leaf stickers to the doily with some foam tape.  I added a brown glitter sprinkle to the center of the flower as well.
I tied the bag with some yellow bakers twine and added a brown mini clothespin and a heart sticker to  finish the decorations off.
If you  are looking  for a fun way to say thank you to someone special - I hope I have inspired you to  make this  little  set. It will be sure to make someones day. Thank you for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!

Thankful For Challenge: Seasons of Gratitude by Traci Penrod

Hi friends!  It's Traci and I'm happy to be joining you from Artsy Albums again.  Today I'm sharing an 8x8 mini that features people & things to be thankful for.
I used two Doodlebug fall-themed paper collections for this album, Fall Friends and Flea Market.
The little critters from the Fall Friends collection are SO cute!  Look at their little sweaters!
The jar paper is one of my favorite sheets in Flea Market! and I couldn't create my albums without Odds & Ends and Doodlepops.
Now I just need to get my family together for a fun fall photo shoot so I have pictures to put in my album! That will be the toughest part of this project :)  Thanks for letting me share my album with you today!
Until next time ... happy crafting!

Thankful For Challenge: Adorable Photo Frame by Brigit

Hello Doodlebug Fans, it's Brigit here sharing a picture frame I made for my Thankful project. There are so many things I'm thankful for and this little guy, my grandson is high on that list, he's an absolute treasure.

I used one of my favorite Doodlebug collections, Flea Market to create this frame! It's put together with cut files from the flea market collection, these are svg files from Lori Whitlock's shop that I cut out with my Cricut Maker but you can also get these files from the Silhouette Design Store. I'll list all the flea market cut files used below.

These adorable eyes on the crow are from the eye candy sprinkles pack, the eyes on both mice are also from this same pack. All the flea market pattern paper used is from the 6 x 6 pack except for the pumpkin which is merry maples from the 12 x 12 pack. Other paper used, lily white and stone gray from the rainbow gingham-linen petite pack, beetle black dot-grid petite print and bon bon textured cardstock.

The letters are from the bumblebee teensy type cs stickers pack which just happen to fit perfectly on my banner without measuring, lucky me! The little acorn is a sticker from the flea market icon sheet and the brads are mini antique brass, love these! I also used three matte sprinkles from the zoo assortment pack on the pumpkin.

You can get all the flea market svg files in one collection or separately - sunflower - pumpkins - mice - crows - box of apples - a list of flea market cut files from the Silhouette Design Store can be found here.

Hope you've enjoyed this project, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Thankful for Challenge: Cards by Courtney Lee

I am so excited about this assignment from Doodlebug. It is such a great thing to take time to stop and remember things you are grateful for. Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here and we just moved quite a ways from "home" and are in a new neighborhood. There have been a couple of people who have been just SOOO kind and I was excited to make cards to let them know how thankful we were for their kindness.
First up is my grateful card. This card took on several iterations with lots and lots of pieces of things strewn around my craft desk until I decided on this design. I wanted to showcase the sunflowers in a jar and the wheat.

The sunflowers and the wheat came from the Odds and Ends in the Flea Market line. The background is from the Labels and Tags in the Flea Market line. If you haven't checked out Flea Market - you MUST. It is easily one of my favorite doodlebug lines ever (and that is saying something!)

I tied some doodle twine in bumblebee around the jar and popped out my sentiment. The background patterned paper is the amazing swiss dots. Did you know that doodlebug makes a complete swiss dots line that coordinates with all of their colors? And the backside is white with that color swiss dots (as shown in the next card) if you are looking for something a little more understated.

For this next card I wanted to make a wreath out of fall things. I started with the sunflower odds and ends and worked my way up. This is the "b" side of one of the swiss dots papers. It's just the right kind of "white" with a touch of color.

I added some of the icons and an older generation leaves shape sprinkles. I love how they add a pop of shine.

Lastly I added the acorn cute clip from the Flea Market collection and popped my sentiment above it all. These pictures don't do the dimension on this project justice. It's really lovely as I popped some once or twice or not at all and it gave it some beautiful dimension.

Here they are! I hope this inspires you to pull out your Flea Market collection that you have hiding around and make some cards for anyone who has done something nice for you - or keep them in your purse for a waitress or waiter that went above and beyond their job! You never know when your thanks is exactly what someone needed at that time - a little appreciation. Spread joy through the season!

Thankful For Challenge: 'Mumsy' Layout by Melinda

So often we find ourselves creating layouts of our children and/or pets yet our lives are full of many influential people that we can also be thankful for. In all the years I have been crafting I think I have created a layout of my Mum once prior to this, yet we talk every couple of days so she is a big part of my life.

We recently celebrated her 80th birthday and she looked so lovely in her outfit that I wanted to create this page for her as a keepsake of the day. And because I wanted to frame the layout I decided to 'go all out' and do a punched flower background in all the fall colours of the 'Flea Market' collection.

Row upon row upon row of teeny retro flowers and a back ache from leaning over for too long...

Once the bed of flowers was complete for the background I started adding layers behind my photograph using patterned paper from the Flea Market collection and added a couple of border trim pieces around the edges from the Flea Market This & That sticker sheet.

I then built up clusters of flowers to create focal points around the photo giving the layout a look of balance and tying the colours and textures together. I think I used up every last flower from the Flea Market Icons Sticker Sheet.  My title 'Mumsy' was created using the Stone Grey Swiss Dot Petite Print and my Silhouette Cameo.

I hope I've given you some inspiration to think about creating pages of people you don't normally scrap. Especially those that have such an important role in shaping who we are today.

Thankful For Challenge: Thankful for Us Layout with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with my take on the Thankful for Challenge.  My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!  It feels like just yesterday!  I decided that what I'm most thankful for is us, the family and life we've made!  I created this layout using paper and elements from different Doodlebug fall collections to celebrate.  Take a peek...

I'm not a big journaler but I felt I needed to add something, so I used one of the Doodlebug Create-a-Card cards as a mat for my photo.  It opens up to show some "hidden" journaling.  I also love the tab, it was a place to add a little more information.  I added a few embellishments including a sticker from the Flea Market This and That Sticker Sheet and one of the Cute Clip Flowers.  I created the notebook page by welding 2 of the Sun Notepaper files from the Spring Things cut files and changing the line colors using my Silhouette.

The background paper is the Maple Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  The other papers are from the Flea Market collection.  I think this is one of my all time favorite collections!  As for my embellishments, the tag is from the Flea Market Labels & Tags, the leaves are from the Mini Leaves and Acorns Craft Kit and the mice are from the Flea Market Odds & Ends.

I finished it off with my title, using some Teensy Type Letters in Swimming Pool and the fun new Abigail Cardstock Stickers in Bumble Bee.
Be sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog for the next week to check out more of the Design Team's Thankful for projects.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Thankful For Challenge: Thanksgiving Treat Bags by Mendi

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here today with a quick and easy project using the darling Flea Market collection from last fall.  I designed these sweet treat bags so that I could have one at each place setting to dress up our Thanksgiving table and let my family know how much they mean to me.
Doodlebug Design Thankful For You Party Favor Treat Bags by Mendi Yoshikawa
To keep thing from being too busy, I chose prints that had a good solid tone-on-tone print on one of the sides.  I alternated which type of print I put on the outside and which faced inward and then set to work cutting them out using Lawn Fawn's Tote Bag die.  For the bags that were more solid outside, I dressed them up with some icon stickers from the collection.

To reinforce my thankful theme, I stamped the 'thankful for you' phrase using some stamps from my stash onto tags from Doodlebug's labels and tags pack.  I then tied a bow through the top of the tags with baker's twine and adhered them to my treat bags with some mini clothespins to match.

I truly love that this project is simple enough to mass produce for everyone on your Thanksgiving guest list.  I hope I've inspired you to pull out some of your favorite Doodlebug papers to create some party favors of your own.  :)

Thanksgiving Place Cards with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with some fun little Thanksgiving Place Cards I made using some Flea Market Papers and Cut files which are available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  Take a peek...

I started with a simple box.  I then sized the Acorn, Pumpkin, Sunflower and Leaves files to fit over the box.  I cut a small tag, and using my Silhouette Sketch Pens to write the names of my guests and tied the tag to the stems.  Here are some close-ups.

To complete the place cards, I added some Sprinkles and Stickers from the Flea Market Collection.  I plan on filling them with some sweet treats!   That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
