Friendly Forest: Family Layout with Melinda

Happy Thursday and welcome to the Doodlebug blog. It's Melinda with you today and I'm sharing my 'Friendly Forest' layout which just happens to have it's very own embellishment forest!

I set out to create a relatively clean and simple layout as I wanted the focus to be on the photo and the journaling. It was kind of a letter to my brother with a photo of his beautiful little family so I didn't want to go over the top with papers and embellishments as he isn't that way inclined.

But as you can see... I went a little crazy with my forest because once I started sticking those little trees and critters down I just couldn't help myself and completely changed my original plan and made a forest instead of a small cluster.

TIP: Because I wanted to layer my embellishments with foam pop dots I used baby powder to remove the existing sticky adhesive from the pieces before attaching the new foam dots. It works like a charm and makes our layout smell like it's just had a bath.

Doodlebug Supplies:
Friendly Forest: Forest Friends (4335), Fall Floral (4328), Friendly Forest (4364), Icons Cardstock Stickers (4370), Fancy Frills Cardstock Stickers (4371), Mini Doodle-Pops Who's Hoo (4427), Mini Doodle-Pops Forest Friends (4426), Sprinkles Falling Leaves (4398). Cardstock Lily White (3402).

Thank you for stopping by today and don't forget to pop back in tomorrow to be inspired by Tya's mini flip frame.

Friendly Forest: Colorful Fall Layout Duo

Colorful Fall Layout
by Candace Zentner

Candace from Scrappin' 2 Little Princesses here today! I am so excited to share a layout using the new Friendly Forest Collection! This collection is super sweet animals combined with a great selection of fall colors!

It is so hard to find a fall collection that has hints of more feminine colors in it. I couldn't have hand picked the color pallet better myself!! I had so much fun putting this layout together.

Some of my favorite embellishments in this collection are the leaves from the Mini Leaves & Acorn Craft Kit. I paired them with the awesome new clothespins and a pretty twine bow to make a super fun cluster of embellishments.

The super sweet animals in this collection just melt my heart and the fact that they come in Mini Doodlepops is so exciting. They are just perfect for cards and layouts.

I have been having a hard time using the new Sprinkles with glitter in them but I finally opened them up for this project. They add the perfect touch around titles.

I hope you enjoyed how I used the Friendly Forest Collection today!! I am sure you are all just as in love with is as I am! Happy Crafting!!

Autumn Beauty Layout
by Jodi Wilton

Hi Everyone!  Jodi here today to share with you a layout I created using the fun- Friendly Forest Collection.  Fall is my favorite time of year and once again, I think that Doodlebug Design has knocked it out of the park with this collection! I simply love all the little critters in this collection and I couldn't wait to use them on my project.  I started off my project by picking one of my most favorite photos of my daughter from this past fall. Her shirt reminded me of the patterned paper: Fall Floral in this collection.  I then layered on top of this piece.  Here is the layout I created:

Besides the adorable critters in this collection I also LOVED the trees found on the Icon Sticker Sheet... the colors are awesome, but I love the different shapes!  I used these as my main embellishments on the layout. To create my title I used the new chipboard alpha, which I have to say are my most favorite release this year! I love the size and the font! They are awesome! To spruce them up a bit I did add some bling to them too!

I finally got use the cute little critters, and I added some fall sprinkles on the fancy frills sticker at the top! Love the glitter in these sprinkles!

Thanks for letting me share today!  I hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful Fall inspiration this year!

Friendly Forest: From Cards to Mini Albums

Hello Doodlebuggers!  Amanda here today with a trio of happy fox cards.  Gone are the days of saving my favorite supplies for "later".  It would be a disservice to leave these little foxes hidden away in their packages.

The Friendly Forest collection is full of sweet, happy critters, but the little orange fox is my favorite.  He can be found as a Doodlepop, cardstock sticker, and journaling card (and on a ton of patterned paper).

This little fox says, "Hello!"  I layered several patterned paper rectangles and added some stickers.  Keeping your embellishments within the same color scheme will help create a cohesive look on your card.

I love the shine and dimension of the Sprinkles leaves.  They make a perfect accent for any card or page.

Eye-catching cards don't have to be complicated.  Add a journaling sticker and some chipboard alphas on top of a piece of patterned paper and you're done.  Add some fun detail by adding a stitched border.

Doodlebug's new big Chippers letters aren't for scrapbook pages only--they are perfect for creating bold sentiments on cards, too.

For the third card, I created a little scene using the Friendly Forest 6x6 pad and stickers.  The rich colors in this collection are a feast for the eyes.

The little Doodlepop fox is my favorite.  I popped up a couple of trees with foam to add some dimension to the card.

Happy Fall!

Amanda

Autumn Mini Album
by Sharm

Hello! Hello! Isn't the Friendly Forest line by Doodlebug Designs absolutely adorable? I love the little squirrels, fox..why just about everything! When i saw the whole collection all I thought was how well everything goes so well together. Almost like a family, together.

So I went about creating this little accordion piece that measures 4x4 when closed. It works out well as both, a deco piece and a mini album.

Here's how it looks

Materials Used:

Item:4335 forest friends double-sided cardstock
Item:4360 mini leaves & acorns craft kit
Item:4364 friendly forest this & that sticker
Item:4370 friendly forest icon sticker
Item:4371 friendly forest fancy frill sticker

Assorted Projects
by Courtney Lee

HELLOOOOOO out there! Are you LOVING Friendly Forest!?!? This is definitely one of my favorite collections of the year! I couldn't stop making things with it!!!

Court from Court's Crafts here to show you some versatility with this line! I used it for a card, a garland, and cable identification! Yep, 3 projects - one post! Enjoy! :)

Project 1: Fall Family Card
This is a legal sized card as I wanted the height of the tree and the falling leaves to be the overall feeling.

I wanted to get a "sentiment" in there even though the background is full of words. I anchored it in the pile of leaves with a paperclip as well as the acorn from the icons. Check out the polka dots on the brown sprinkled shape leaf at the bottom... Lovin' that leaf.

Okay, I admit it... This fat-headed owl was part of the Ghouls and Goodies collection... but he was just TOO darling!!!

Ummm... HELLOOO sprinkled shapes!!!! These little leaves are so yummy!! And the pics of them don't do their mini-prints justice so I thought I would get you a few close-ups. Aren't the checkers on the orange one SO darling!?!

Polka dots on the purple ones? Yes, indeedy. And just in case you thought the gloss was something I added, it's not! They come that way! Glossy goodness.
Grab some. You will LOVE them! Spoiler alert: they came out with both of the Christmas lines too!!! :)

Project 2: Leaf Garland
Isn't this so super pretty? And you know what?! It took absolutely. no. work.

Here is the product that I simply pulled out of their die cut edges and sewed in a line... seriously. It retails for $3.99 and took all of 5 minutes to make. My kind of home decor!

See those stitched lines around the edges of the leaves? They come printed on. love. it.

Here is how large it is all sewn together! Emmaline wants it for her door but we'll see... Mommy wants to put it on the mantle!

Another close up!

Project 3: Okay... I know I got carried away... Cable Identification.
So.... do any of you have husbands that steal your power cords, etc.? Ugh. Mine. Steals. Mine. All. The. Time... It drives me nuts! Whenever your phone is fully charged there are chargers everywhere and the minute you need one - cannot be found!

Well, my husband claims he never takes mine... now we'll know!

I added this simple touch of washi tape to give it some fall flair! I LOVE IT!!! I am totally going to change these out for the seasons and do different designs on them! So fun and SO fast!

Earbuds: cute-ified. Love.

I had a thicker band on the computer charger so I decided to use a wider one. Aren't the polka dots cute!?

So... One of the best things about doodlebug washi tape is the different widths! You can see them all in perspective here. The bands at the top of the tags let you know how thick they are and what the washi tape looks on a white background. :)

Close up of the cuteness. :) They are so happy! :) My mom already asked if I could do hers so I brought some washi tape over and put it around hers too! :)

So... I just got the new iPhone6 and found this case... in classic doodlebug color: swimming pool blue.. :) Of course I had to pick that one! Now... I can match the washi tape to my phone!!! :)

Friendly Forest: At the Orchard Layout

Hi everyone, it's Kathy today with a layout featuring our new Friendly Forest collection!  Fall is my FAVORITE time of year!!  I love the crisp air and the turning leaves....and apple picking is one of activity I can't miss!  Now I do have plenty of more recent apple picking pictures...however, when I saw the magenta color of the Fall Floral Double Sided Cardstock, I knew immediately what pictures I'd be using...it was meant to be!

I started off with some Chippers in Bon Bon ...they're the perfect size for creating a fun title!  I topped some of the letters off with some Falling Leaves Sprinkle Shapes.
I
This layout screamed for a circular shape, so I decided to add some Bon Bon Doilies. I then created some embellishment clusters using the leaves & flowers from the Friendly Forest Icon Sticker Sheet and some Fall Sprinkles.
And I HAD to use the ADORABLE little fox Doodlepop...especially since he was holding an apple!!!  Too cute for words!  That's it for me today...keep stopping by the blog to get more Friendly Forest inspiration from the other members of the Design Team!  Thanks for stopping by!

Friendly Forest: Birthday Gift Set by Aimee

Friendly Forest Birthday gift

Hello Doodlebug friends! Aimee here with you sharing my Friendly Forest birthday gift set. The colors are so fun and vibrate, I thought it would be perfect to wish someone a "Happy" birthday!!

The first piece of my project is this little basket which sports 2 (homemade) bars of pumpkin spice scented soap. The basket was created using the  3-D fruit basket cut which I got from the Silhouette Studio. I used a brown plaid piece of pattern paper from the collection for the basket and lined it some of that gorgeous striped washi tape.

Then came the fun part of decorating the front with all of the embellishments such as the new clothes pins and glitter Sprinkles! To add a little more dimension, I adhered 3 of the acorns together and folded them upwards.

The card came together easily by adding washi tape, stickers, Sprinkles, a leaf diecut, and a Doodlepop owl to the front of  a Doodlebug card.

And finally the gift itself.....I got in the kitchen with my sweet girl and we made some pumpkin spice soap bars. I found a simple recipe off of Pinterest. I wrapped strips of vellum and pattern paper around them and then topped it off with some stickers, twine, and the wonderful new goodies from Doodlebug.....the clothes pins! I can't wait to give this gift away to someone special!!
