Beach Treasure Hunt
by Sherry Cartwright

To create the background for this layout, I used the circle/cupcake stamp from Party Time.  I cut the cupcake out of the circle.  I inked up the circle stamp with embossing ink and then used clear embossing powder to set it.   I used a turquoise mist with a paintbrush to circle over the stamped image and then again on a scalloped border.   I wanted them soft and reminiscent of the ocean waves.  The polka dot paper was a bit too stark for this layout, so I toned it down with a wash of white acrylic paint.

I also made washi tape using paper medical tape and a cloud stamped in the turquoise/swimming pool ink.

Supply List: simply sweet alphabet, home sweet home, borders, journal shapes, party time, sweet cakes, small alphabets, rhinestones, pearls, boutique brads-seashell, starfish

Bunny Layout
by Jing-Jing Nickel

I used a circle stamp in the birthday collection that contained a cupcake in the center.  I masked the cupcake out of the circle and stamped letters for the layout title.

Stamps: alphabet

Tuesday Tutorial- We're Moving Card

Hi all, it's Stephanie here today with a fun card I made using the Doodlebug Stamps by Hampton Arts. We are getting ready to move into our new home so I thought it would be nice to send my friends each a card letting them know that we're on the move. Here's what I came up with:

This card involved lots of stamping, and these are some of the best stamps I have ever used. They have such a crisp clean image and clean up is a snap!

Here are my simple steps:

Step 1: Stamp background on aqua cardstock using the border stamp and the limeade ink. Mount it on white cardstock and sew around the outside to give you your sewn border.

Step 2: Make your journaling card also by stamping the border stamps and limeade ink. Then attach fancy fills and sew along bottom.

Step 3: Stamp out your house, sun, clouds, label, and the word we're. (The house sun and cloud stamps are all from the Home Sweet Home set, the labelstamp is from the Party Time set, and the alphas are from the Classics mini wood stamps is Simply Sweet font.) Cut each out leaving a white border. (I used a circle punch to punch out the letters).

Step 4: Add teensy type alphas in bumblebee to the label spelling out the word "moving".

Step 5: Assemble your card and admire.

Hope you enjoyed :) if you did, stop by my blog ( http://www.mybitsofsunshine.blogspot.com/) and check out more Doodlebug cards and layouts.

Supply List:
Fancy Fills (limeade), Hampton Arts Stamps (Doodlebug borders, Party Time, Home Sweet Home, and mini wood alphabet stamps in Simply sweet), Doodlebug Ink (Swimming pool, Beetle black and Limeade) and Teensy Type (bumblebee)

Tuesday Tutorial: Stamp Casting with Melinda

It's Melinda with you today and firstly I must say it's lovely to be back as I've had some time off to bring a new little person into the world. I'm going to share a photo of my new little man 'Teddy' and a technique that is perfect for school holiday fun with the kids because it involves stamps, glue and paint...

Stamp Casting!

I have created a baby card complete with a stamp cast love heart using one of the gorgeous new Doodlebug stamps manufactured by Hampton Art.

Step 1: I chose the popular floral love heart stamp from the Love Life collection and sprayed the stamp with a canola oil spray to prevent the tissue paper and glue from sticking.

Step 2: Using plain unscented tissues, cut 6 squares larger than the stamp to allow for overhang. Place a single sheet onto the stamp and gently paint over the stamp using Mod Podge or 50% PVA glue and water. I used a stiff brush to push the tissue into the stamp. Repeat with the remaining sheets of tissue then allow to dry overnight.

Step 3: Once the glue is completely dry you can cut the excess tissue away from the stamp leaving a 5mm overhang then tease apart the layers to create a rustic look to the edge. Then carefully remove the stamp from the tissue casting.

Step 4: Paint the entire surface with an acrylic paint including the edges and allow to dry.

Step 5: Using a stiff brush and different coloured inks, dry brush the cast image to bring out the pattern of the stamp. Feel free to add sparkle by using glitter or pearls etc.

Your cast is now finished to use on your projects or perhaps add a magnet to the back as a fun gift.

Supply List: Doodlebug Snips & Snails - monkey business, twinkle twinkle, cardstock stickers, mini pearls; Colorbox inks - bubble blue, swimming pool; Clear Stamps - Love life; Cardstock stickers - Multicolor It's a boy; Simply Sweet rubon alphabet - blue jeans; vellum, tissues, Mod Podge

Thanks for stopping by!
