Happy Camper: Around the Campfire & Almost Camping Layouts

Around the Campfire

Hello Doodlebug friends! Aimee here with you to share a layout I created using the new Happy Camper collection! I have a ton of photos of the kiddos out at the fire pit either roasting marshmallows or hot dogs! It is so much fun cooking our dinners on the fire when the weather is cooler!  And the new Happy Camper collection is perfect for getting those pics scrapped!

Doodlebug just came out with some fun paper clips so I thought how cute would it be to string a bunch together to create a banner. It turned out great and I love it!

To get it attached to my layout I used some green thread and sewed some loops around each end of the paper clips. To secure the thread to the back I taped down the loose ends.

Love, love, love the adorable forest critter Doodlepops!! They look adorable on any project! I have my sweet little fox roasting a hot dog since we have had some fox sightings in our backyard this summer!

Hope you've been inspired! You will have so much fun creating with this camping collection!

Almost Camping Layout
by Candace Zentner
Are you all as in love with the Happy Camper Collection as I am?! I have a feeling you are... The colors and designs in this collection are so stinkin' adorable!

This spring our family sold our trailer but the girls really wanted to go camping so their dad took them on a fun little trip to a fun little resort in the mountains. It wasn't the same as camping, but it was as close as we could get this year and they seemed pretty pleased with it!

The new Chippers have become a layout staple for me. They are the perfect size and I love the added dimension they give to projects.

In this collection there is a SUPER cute Mini Clothes Line that was the inspiration for my layout. I used the twine to make a little clothes line that I could also add photos to. The new Mini Clothespins worked so perfectly to hold the pictures.

I am so in love how this layout turned out and I found this collection so easy to work with. I can't wait to work on another layout with these adorable papers!

Happy Camper: Boxed Card Trio By Wendy Sue

Hello Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing a trio of cards featuring the Happy Camper collection.  I shared this fun set of cards at the Design Team retreat we had a few weeks ago - it was fun to see how everyone put their own twist on the original card ideas - and now you can do the same!

In addition to the cards, I put together a fun little paper box using Doodlebug Cardstock and a Silhouette Cut File to hold the cards - now they are ready for gift giving!

Aren't they the cutest, just peeking out of the box?

Here's a closer look at each individual card:

Aren't those fish so cute?!?  I like to put my stickers on dimensional foam adhesive before attaching them to my projects - it's almost like adding doodle-pops on everything!

Each card also has white cardstock - each piece of cardstock was embossed with an embossing folder - I just love the subtle touch of texture!

And of course, I had to add a bit of machine stitching to at least ONE of the cards - I love it!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - we'd love to see what YOU are creating with Happy Camper!!

Happy Camper: Precious Baby Cards

Just because certain collections are named "camping" or "fall" doesn't mean they aren't uber versatile!

Court from Court's Crafts here with two baby boy cards! Two boys were born in my neighborhood within a week of each other. One is here, one passed away.

John (the boy who passed away) has extraordinary parents. They found out that he had a severe chromosomal defect at 13 weeks of gestation. They decided not to tell anyone and to carry John and trust God. They wanted John's time on this earth to be surrounded by people who were rejoicing and excited and happy for his arrival. This kind of strength - I don't know if I possess it and I pray I am never challenged by it. I had no idea of what they were going to face until after he had passed away. He lived for 3 beautiful hours. Given the parents' wishes I wanted to make a card that wasn't "sympathy" based, but rejoicing in the time this world got to spend with him.

Did you see the new "chippers"!?! Ugh! awesome! I wanted to show them off!

Doodle twine, how I love thee. Blue and bon bon?! So fun.

Side note: please excuse my squirmy sewing lines... I was bouncing a baby while finishing these cards.. no joke.

Noah is a beautiful healthy baby boy and their older daughter Faith is about Emmaline's age so our children are close in ages. I am looking forward to becoming very good friends with them!

I loved inserting the doodle-pops in to substitute for the letters. I though tit brought a fun and quirky side to the cards.

A few of these darling mushroom stickers finished off the card title (does anyone else want mushroom doodle-pops!?! psst. psst. doodlebug, are you listening!?! ;))

Okay, so in case you didn't catch that these cards were made with a mix of both Friendly Forest and Happy Camper! Check them out because they mesh so well together they should be one huge collection! Grab them. Fast. And look at the fish. darling fish. love the fish.

Happy Camper: Fishing Layout by Melinda

Hello and welcome back to the blog for another day of Happy Camper inspiration. It's Melinda with you today and I finally get to share a layout featuring my 'middle child'. I find it quite easy to scrap my teenage daughter and toddler son but my Master 8 is just a little bit more difficult. Through no fault of his own mind you... it's all to do with me and my ability or lack thereof for creating fun layouts that suit him. He is such a farm boy and there are very few tractors and trucks that make their way onto scrapbooking papers so I was delighted to see Happy Camper with lots of bits & pieces for boys... especially the fish!

I decided to cut circles to emulate water bubbles created by fish so used various sizes and patterns including my photo and layered then down the page.

I've been on a hand-stitching frenzy lately so added a small areas of stitching along the sides of a few main circles to add that extra bit of texture and interest.

Oooo, I have a new favourite product - the Sprinkles now have sparkle and although it was hard to photograph so you could see just how glittery they are... believe me they are super cute!

And finally I can say I have used the new 'chippers' alphas. These bad boys are fabulous for adding major punch to a heading because they are larger than the standard alphas and made from chipboard with a gloss finish. Perfect for high impact!

So who has a whole pile of holiday photos from recent or even not so recent camping, boating or fishing trips that are tucked away and in need of some attention? Happy Camper has versatility to accommodate just about any theme of outdoor activity with a environmentally friendly colour palette.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to enter the give-away so you can be in the running for one of six Happy Camper prize packs.

Happy Camper: Double the Fun with Two Awesome Layouts

Gone Camping Layout
by Jodi Wilton

Hi everyone! Jodi here today to share with a new layout I created using the most adorable collection- HAPPY CAMPER! We are big campers in my house, and I can see me using every last scrap of this collection, as it is so cute, and perfect for any outdoor or nature photos!  Here is the layout I created:

I fell in love the campground piece of patterned paper, and wanted to make sure that I incorporated it into my layout! I added a 3 X 12 inch piece at the bottom and I also added a 3 X 12 inch piece of the bear necessities piece of patterned paper at the top. In the middle of the layout I added a 6 X 12 piece of happy camper piece of patterned paper.  These three pieces were the base of my layout.  I then started to add the embellishments and photos. I added a limeade doily and layered on top some stickers from the Icon Sticker sheet... I LOVE all the critters on this sheet!

I then used four of the fancy frills stickers from this collection to add some interest to the top and bottom of the layout. Finally I added a few extra touches from the This & That Sticker Sheet.

Hope you enjoyed my Happy Camper Project today!

Happy Fishin' Layout
by Shellye McDaniel

Hello, everyone!  Shellye here today with a "Happy Campers" Layout.
I was so happy that my guys returned home from their annual fishing trip with some really great photos...I think I've gotten almost every single one on a scrapbook page all ready :)

One thing that I love about being on the water is seeing the reflection of the trees, mountains, etc. in it!  I had two chipboard trees on hand, so I dressed those up in patterned paper and used them as an accent similar to a reflection upon the water.

The top tree was a great space for journaling.

I used two of the new Mini Clothespins at the top of the photo strip so that it appears that the pictures are hanging.

I cut the "Happy Camper" Sticker in half and completed the title of my layout with
the new Chippers adhesive alphabet stickers!

"Happy Campers" can be used for any of your camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and
even smores-making photos!  You will love all of the cute critters and fun nostalgic icons like the vintage RV and cozy campfires :)

Thanks for letting me share with you today!

Happy Camper: Backyard Campout Layout

Hello Doodle Peeps!  It's Mendi here today and I'm thrilled to be sharing a layout using one of the cutest collections ever:  Happy Camper!
There are so many darling images in this collection from the retro camper to the cute little fish and critters!  To ground all these ultra cute images, I created a scene within a die-cut circle which I matted with a new Bon Bon Doily.
For my title I paired some Loopy Lou stickers with the new Chipper Stickers.  I love how the two font compliment each other!
To help tie everything together visually, I finished off each of my four background strips with a matching cardstock paper frill and some washi tape.

Happy Camper: Paper Bag Mini Album by Sharm

How many of you happy campers love to collect little keepsake from your vacations? whether it is twigs, leaves, little notes etc, we all like to keep hold of a little something from our trips. One thrifty way to store these are by transforming the boring lunch bags into mini memorabilia books!

The pockets make it wonderful to store things and just by adding a little bit of patterned papers and tags on the page, the boring kraft color is immediately transformed into something cute! Here's my project using the Happy Camper Collection.
