Mix It Up Challenge: Christmas Cards by Wendy Sue

Hello there, Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing my project for the fun "Mix It Up" challenge!  I mainly used the "Milk & Cookies" collection to create this fun set of holiday cards, but I also added in some "Cream & Sugar," "Yankee Doodle," and "Here Comes Santa Claus" products!  Can you spy the different collections?  Probably not - because they work absolutely seamlessly together!

Here's a closer look at each of the cards.  Let's start with the Santa card:

Isn't this printed die with the kitchen scene adorable?

Nothing says "warm and cozy" better than stockings hung by the chimney with care!  And adding some cute cupcakes to the mantle is perfection!

Christmas Gifts: Hostess Gift with Kathy

Hi Everyone, it's Kathy today with a fun idea for a Hostess/Neighbor Gift.  The holidays are full of fun and festivities, I'm thankful for our friends and family who open their homes to us, and want to make sure they know how much I appreciate them!  One friend in particular hosts our neighborhood holiday party every year, she's wonderful.  She also loves her daily French vanilla coffee, so I decided to make a gift featuring her favorite /drink...

I created this fun tree using K-Cup coffee pods as the base. You could use the Tea K-Cups or Cocoa K-Cups as well.   This would be a fun gift for a coworker or teacher, anywhere there is a Keurig Machine!  Here's how I put it all together...

I started with 21 K-Cups, 21 paper circles (I cut these from the Here Comes Santa Claus 6 x 6 pad, and the Gingham Linen Petite Prints 6x6 Pad.) and a backing for the cups cut from a sheet of Grasshopper Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I designed this backing in my silhouette and am happy to share the file with you here!

Using removable glue dots, I attached a paper circle to each of the K-Cups.

Next, using foam squares, I attached each K-Cup to the tree backing starting on the top.

Once the K-cups were all attached, I set to decorating my "tree." I used the Christmas Assortment Matte Sprinkles, Candy Cane and Holly Berry Shaped Sprinkles, and stickers from the Icons Sheet and some Odds and Ends.  I also added some of the new Here Come's Santa Cut Files available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop

I can't wait to give it to her!  She will be so happy.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Here Comes Santa Claus: Three Cards by Courtney

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

My mom calls and sings that song after she has found a Christmas present and wont tell me what it is! Courtney here from Court's Crafts with three Christmas cards to jump start your creativity.

Te first one was totally inspired by those little birds. I LOVE THEM!!!

This heart background paper is my new fave and I just had to get it in as the background of the card. The heart Cute Clips were JUST the thing needed. There is even one hiding in the wired ribbon!  I grabbed my daughter's tinsel pipe cleaners (shhh.. don't tell!) and snipped a bit off to ground my birds - like birds on a wire. :)

This is one of those cards that comes together organically and quickly. I took out the snow globe (Odds and Ends) and I cut the sentiment out from the 6x6 paper pad. And then they sat on my desk together...for like a week. haha. Then I saw this advent calendar paper and wanted to make something different (I was going to make a door hanger countdown thingy) but then I thought... quilted background!!!

Or maybe I should call this a faux quilted background as I just stitched in between the squares making it look like that! I added a border strip from This and That, a scrumptious candy cane sprinkle and a paper clip to the snowglobe and attached them all to a tag. Sweet!

Dear Santa
For this card I really wanted to decorate a Christmas tree.. somehow that turned into this. lol. The creative process sometimes cracks me up and I was totally cracking up at myself as I put this together.

Those candy swirl sprinkles though!!! And did you see Santa's candy cane exhaust? haha. Most of these were die cuts from the Odd's and Ends. :)

I hope this inspires you to break out your Here Comes Santa papers early and have some holiday fun! I LOVE Christmas!!!

Hi friends!  It's Wendy Sue here with you today - and I am excited to be invited back today to share my latest little Christmas project.  I, like all of you, just about fell off my chair with excitement when I heard about the Doodlebug Silhouette shapes - so you can bet I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to share a project featuring one of my favorite shapes!  It took me a while to narrow down my list of ideas and focus on just one to share with you today - so I hope I chose wisely!  I'm sharing my Christmas countdown!

I used the "Santa in Airplane" Silhouette Cut File to create this fun countdown calendar!

Of course, I used the "Here Comes Santa Claus" papers and embellishments to dress up this cute Santa & Plane!

Instead of cutting out the banner flying behind the plane, I opted to cut out 25 little banner flags, and the numbers 1 - 25.  I embellished each little flag, then clipped them onto a long piece of chunky twine with miscellaneous coordinating clips.

I love the idea of Santa flying around, watching the kids to make sure they are being NICE (not naughty) each day until Christmas arrives.  Every night, we can unclip one of the numbers until the big day finally arrives!  It would also be fun to make this into a type of advent calendar by writing an activity on the back of each number.  I may have to add some fun activity ideas to my countdown before December arrives.

In the meantime, I'm counting down the days until I can hang this cute Santa up on the wall to stay!

Here Comes Santa Claus: Christmas Magic Layout by Monique

Hi everyone! It's Monique on the blog today sharing a "Here Comes Santa Claus" layout with you. Although it was sunny and warm outside (25 degrees Celsius, very warm for us!) I really enjoyed scrapping some Christmas photos. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait for it to be December again!

Here's what I created for today's blog post:

I started this layout with the large background Christmas tree, which I cut from the "Holiday Hearts" paper and matted it with the "Cupcake Gingham-Linen Petite Prints" paper. Next I matted my two photos and arranged them on the tree. All the embellishments came next. My layout turned out a little busy as I'm never able to stop adding more and more die-cuts, stickers. sprinkles, etc.

The Odds & Ends package is full of cute Santa's! Here's one of them: Santa in a plane .. isn't he fun?! And don't you adore the "Red Robin Mini Doodle-Pops" and that fun paper clip?! I sure do!

I decorated all the hearts in the tree with shiny Sprinkles from the "Holly Berries" Shape Sprinkles and the "Candy Cane" Shape Sprinkles.

For another layout I needed only the top of one of the Santa stickers and so I had the legs left ... Don't you think it looks like he's hiding behind the tree?

I just love the shiny Candy Cane Shape Sprinkles in this collection so much!

And one last close-up. I added some machine stitching for the finishing touch.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog today. I can't wait to see what you'll create with this awesome Christmas collection!

Have a fabulous day!
Monique
