HIPPITY HOPPITY BUNNY IN A CARROT CAR | with Jennifer

Hello crafty friends. I don't know about you but I always do a little happy dance when new Doodlebug cutting files become available. This month I got to play with the new Hippity Hoppity collection and the Carrot Car cutting file.

  1. After cutting chipboard stencils for the car and bunny on my Silhouette. I mounted them to foam board. Then cut them out using a scroll saw.  The bunny and leafy section of the car were covered with cardstock first.
  2. Below you can see how the 3 car sections were sandwiched together to form the finished piece.
  3. The sides of the car were covered with chipboard then patterned paper, along with the front and back.
  4. The car wheel covers were cut out and covered with paper then attached to each side. Wood wheels were painted purple and then attached to the car and a wood oval base.

Some grey chunky twine was used to outline the bunny's face, ears and paws. I also created a small chipboard steering wheel with my Silhouette, so she could steer her way around town.

I layered some basket and chick doodle-pop stickers together with a "Easter Blesssing sign. Then these were added to the base of the project along with some Easter egg sprinkles.

A little stitching was added around the car door and some doodle-pop flowers were used to add some color and texture to the car. I love the new wood grain petite prints and think they worked well for the  body of the car.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Happy Easter, everyone! :)

HIPPITY HOPPITY FUNNY BUNNIES LAYOUT | with Lisa

Have you seen the new Hippity Hoppity cut files yet? Well I already used some and I can tell you... whatever you create with them, it's going to turn out suuuuuper-duper cute...!  Here's the layout I came up with...

If you've known me for a while, you know I love to create little characters on my layouts. I also love putting cute little bows on them and using tons and tons of flowers.

So for this layout, I used a bunny head cut file and cut it out three times, using three different colors for the backgrounds and inner part of the ears. I love the Doodlebug cardstock, the colors are so vibrant and you always find the perfect colors for your project.

I also used a cut file with small flowers and leaves and cut them out, using pink, teal, yellow, white and green.

Before adhering all the pieces together, I used some Distress Oxides in matching colors, to create shadows all around the different parts of the bunnies and flowers. I love the dimension that it gives.

I put my bunnies together and then hand-stitched some details on the ears of the bunnies and also on the leaves and some of the flowers.

To make the bunnies even cuter, I created some bows and used Doodlebug twine in cupcake, bumblebee and swimming pool.  Then I started placing everything on my page that I had prepared with a bit of mixed media before. I matted my photo on a few scraps of paper from the Hippity Hoppity 6x6 paper pad and also placed it on the layout. When everything looked how I liked, I started adhering everything.

Then I went through my Hippity Hoppity collection and used all the things that I thought would complete the layout. I added some carrots, jewels, glitter enamel dots, enamel chicks and doodle pops chicks and flowers.

For my title, I used three different fonts, Skinny, Abigail and Sunshine. To make them stand out more in front of the colored background, I traced around them with matching colors. Then I splattered some paint and I was done! :)

I really hope you like the layout and are inspired to scrap your Easter/April photos using the Hippity Hoppity collection and the beautiful cut files.
