Yankee Doodle Collection: I Love the USA with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a fun, home decor project.  I always love the Doodlebug patriotic collections and Yankee Doodle does not disappoint!  As soon as I saw it, I knew what I was going to make... take a peek...

These 3-D Letters are from Lori Whitlock's SVG Shop.  I used some of the fun patterned papers to form the base of the letters and the decorative panels.  I then embellished them using some of the Odds & Ends and Shaped Sprinkles.  Here are some close-ups...

My favorite parts of the Yankee Doodle Collection are the silver accents... they add just the right touch of shine!  

The new Yankee Doodle Patriotic Posies Shaped Sprinkes are just too cute!

Vellum: Home Decor Inspiration

Vellum Floral Banner

Hello there, it's Sharm here and this month the Design Team is sharing projects inspired by vellum. I'm sure you've been amazed by the inspiring projects so far. Today I'd like to share mine. It's a banner that I made for my little girl's birthday party which was to a tinkerbell theme. I knew the vellum paper by Doodlebug would be just perfect!

The vellum was used for the leaves and layers of the banner pieces and what I did was to place the banner at the dessert  table. Here's my banner...

Vellum Plus Sign Decor

Plus signs are everywhere!  Amanda here today with a quick and easy piece of decor using trendy plus signs.

Inspired by a variety of plus sign decor I keep seeing on Pinterest, I decided to make my own small piece of colorful plus sign decor using the bright and cheery Doodlebug Sprinkles vellum.

I created the plus signs simply by intersecting two identical rectangles in Silhouette Studio.  This simple design would be easy to recreate using any software program.

I picked a trendy combination of colors that would look fun in my daughter's room.  Pick your favorite Doodlebug colors to suit your own color scheme.

Vellum and adhesive can be tricky together.  Choose adhesive that covers the entire design so it won't leave awkward or unsightly adhesive marks.  I used my Xyron create-a-sticker to apply adhesive to the entire plus sign.  I used the grid on my cutting mat to help me place the plus signs.
