6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - HELLO 2025 ALBUM | with Kathy

Happy New Year! This year I decided to set some goals for myself, rather than vague resolutions.  One of those goals is to get back into documenting memories.  Over the last few years I've moved away from traditional scrapbooking, instead creating more cards and papercrafts.  The new 6x8 mini albums are the perfect medium to jump back into scrapbooking!

I chose the gray 6x8 mini album for my 2025 book.  I like the gray it coordinates with so many collections, it makes a great base color.

I wanted a clean cover for my album.  I started with a 6 1/8" x 8 5/8" piece of Mint Candy Stripe Sprinkles Petite Prints.  I layered over that piece a 5 7/8"x 8 3/8" piece of the Cute & Crafty Bright Ideas lined paper.  I stitched the layers together using my sewing machine and some gray thread.

I found a big chunky font (Impact) and cut numbers 2025 using my Silhouette. I sized them to take up most of the space on the lined paper.  I chose some of my favorite patterns from several collections for my numbers including Pretty Kitty Dear to My Heart (pink hearts), Special Delivery Cuddly Cubs (Yellow), Bundle of Joy Baby Blooms (green check) and some more Mint Candy Stripe/Sprinkles Petite Prints.  I offset each number with some gray Candy Stripe/Sprinkles Petite Prints to make them stand out a bit. I then added the numbers, overlapping slightly onto the background piece.  I zig-zag stitched randomly around the numbers and added some coordinating sprinkles for shine and dimension.  Here are some close-ups...

I then went searching through my Doodle Pop Collection to find the perfect embellishment.  When I found the Just My Type Doodle Pop from the Hello Collection, I knew I had found it!  I added it to the center of my numbers and then added a little shaped sprinkle heart from the Rainbow Hearts shaped sprinkles.  I love the touch of shine this Doodle Pop adds!

To add some interest to the left side of the cover, I wrapped some Chunky Twine in Mint around the cover.  I held it in place with some double sided tape.  I tied a bow using both mint and gray Chunky twine and glued it to wrapped twine.  To complete it I added the Cute Camera Little Charmer. I love then new clasps on the little charmers, it makes adding them so easy!

I added the 2025 to the bookplate using some Mint Alphabet Soup Stickers along with a couple more rainbow heart sprinkles.

I'm excited to start documenting my year!  I'll be back next time to show how I decorated some of the dividers that come with the album and some pocket pages!  Thank you for stopping by to peek!

TINSEL TIME SHAKER GIFT TAGS | with Kathy

We are officially down to the wire!  It's time to get all of those Christmas gifts wrapped and put under the tree!  I decided to add some fun Tinsel Time Shaker Tags to some of my gifts this year... take a peek...

I started with some Tag Dies from my stash.  I cut them from some Tinsel Time Coordinating Textured Cardstock.  I lined the bottom tag piece (without the window)  with some fun papers from the 6x6 pad.  I love the smaller prints, they work perfectly for projects like this.  I covered the open window of the tags with some Heavyweight Acetate.  I added some double sided 1/8"foam tape to outline the window, filled it with some fun shakers then attached the top tag to the bottom!  All that was left was to decorate which was easy with all the fun Puffy Stickers, Shaped Sprinkles, mini Jewels, Icon Stickers, Odds & Ends and Bits & Pieces!  Here are some close-ups...

On the "B" side of the Happy Holly Days 6x6 paper are word strips that are great for cards & tags.  I used them for sentiments on my tags.  I also added some fun Glitter Sprinkles from the Christmas Assortment to some of the ornaments.

In addition to Doodlebug Shaker balls, I also used the Happy Holidays and Jolly Holly Shakers.  I also added some shaped sprinkles from the Christmas Candy Shaped Sprinkles.

To top my tags I stapled some grosgrain ribbon using my tiny attacher stapler.  They are all set to be added to my gifts!

Here's a little video of my tags.... it's always more fun to see things in motion!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful, safe & healthy Holiday season.  I'll be back in the new year with some more Doodlebug projects!  Thanks for stopping by to peek.

TINSEL TIME ADVENT CALENDAR | with Kathy

I love an Advent Calendar, and every year I try to make a Doodlebug version!  This year I used the Tinsel Time collection and the Tiny Tinsel Town Doodle Cuts to create a fun, smaller countdown.  Take a peek...

To create my base I used the boxes from the Christmas Advent Calendar SVG by Lori Whitlock.  I sized the boxes from the file down to 75% of their original size and cut/assembled 24 of them.  I stacked them into 3 rows of 8 and covered the outside with the snowflake side of the Tinsel Time paper.  I covered the drawers with the silver side of the Snow Bright Days paper.  I then cut out the countdown numbers from the 6x6 Berry Merry paper and added them to the front of the drawers.  I love the smaller size!

I created a fun town scene on the top of my advent calendar using the Tiny Tinsel Town Doodle Cuts, some petite prints and coordinating Textured Cardstock.  I just adore the sweet little houses.  I wanted them to be lit up (because everything is more fun with lights) so I created a small open sided box to glue to the back of each house.  Inside the box, I added a mini LED light (I will link below).

The boxes open so that I can drop in the lights and take them out.  I added a tab to make it easier.

I added a scene with Santa and his reindeer using the Mini Icon Stickers.  They were the perfect size!

The fun bottle brush tree icons in the collection inspired me to make one of my own!  I used some wire and some Doodle Twine to create a mini bottle brush tree.  (I followed this tutorial).  I decorated it with some individual Shakers in ladybug, bumblebee and cupcake as well as a star from the Holiday Magic Shaped Sprinkles.

On each house, I added a bit from the Happy Holiday Shakers to the wreaths... to give them a little decoration!

Now if I can only resist eating all the candy ahead of time!  Have you created any projects using Tinsel Time?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on socials... We love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

FARMHOUSE TURKEY TIME TREAT HOLDERS | with Kathy

It's almost Thanksgiving... you know what that means... Turkey!  What do you call a group of turkeys?  After a search online I came up with a few options... a Flock, a Rafter, a Gang, and in some cases a Gaggle.  Whatever you call them, I created a whole bunch of them using the Farmhouse collection and the Turkey Time Doodle Cuts.  Take a peek...

We have a big crew for Thanksgiving... I made these little turkeys into a treat holders to put on everyone's plate.  These would also make super cute classroom treats, or a little something for your office friends.

Using the Turkey Time Doodle Cuts, I cut the pieces from a combination of Farmhouse Coordinating Textured Cardstock, Farmhouse Patterned papers and some Petite Prints.  The little eyes were done using An Eye for an Eye Shaped Sprinkles.

On the back of each turkey I created a triangular holder... it serves double duty.  First, of course, it holds the candy treat, and it also allows the turkey to stand upright.  It's really simple to put together.  I cut a strip of Textured cardstock measuring 1" x 6".  I then scored it at 3/8", 2 3/8" and 3 5/8".  I added a Lindor Ball using a glue dot, then secured the triangle, and to the back of the turkey using double sided tape.

I put together a quick video tutorial showing how I assembled them.  Once the papers were cut, they went together super quick!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!

FARMHOUSE BIG TAG MINI ALBUM | with Kathy

I will confess that Fall is my most favorite season.  I love the colors, the crisp air, big sweaters.... all of it!  So when the Farmhouse collection came out, I was beyond excited!  One of the first papers I was drawn to was the Buffalo Check paper, and the "b" side with all the fun big tags!  I knew I was going to have to make a mini album with them.  Take a peek....

I started by making a chipboard cover for my mini.  I cut chipboard (2 cover pieces measuring 4 5/8" x 6 1/4", and one piece 1 3/8" x 6 1/4 for the spine.  I covered the pieces with the Country Quilt plaid paper for the outside cover.  On the inside I used a piece of Teal Textured Cardstock to cover.  I decorated my cover with die cuts from the Odds & Ends pack, some mini icons and some Flower Farm Shaped Sprinkles.  I added the pup from the mini Icons to look like he was in the truck.

I punched a hole on the right side of the inside cover.  To measure for it, I cut out all of the tags from the Buffalo Check paper, then lined one up on the inside of the book to see where to punch my hole.  I added a teal book ring from my stash.  On the left side of the inside cover I added a photo matt and elements from the Bits & Pieces Pack.

Now it was time to add my pages.  I used all 6 tags from the back of the Buffalo Check paper.  I then cut tags from coordinating Sprinkles Petite Prints and sewed them to the back of the tags.  All that was left was to decorate!

I used lots of elements from the This & That Stickers, Puffy Icons, Odds & Ends, Chit Chat pieces and Bits & Pieces along with photo matts.

I also used some of the cut-apart journaling spots from the "b" side of the Woodland Berries Paper as well as some cut apart 3x4 cards from the Country Quilt paper.

On a few of the pages, I stitched on some of the tabs from the Bits & Pieces.

Of course I had to make a shaker!  I love the adorable leaves and acorns in the Shades of Fall Shakers.  I also added some coordinating Doodlebug Sequins.

The smaller tags are from the Bits & Pieces pack.  They were fun to decorate and I love the extra detail they add.

This really was a fun mini to put together... and so easy to do with all the goodies in the Farmhouse collection!  I put together this flip through of my mini so you can see it in action!

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

HEY PUMPKIN KITTY BOX CARDS | with Kathy

My favorite icon in the Hey Pumpkin Collection is of course the adorable black cat!  He looks just like my boy Jax!  So, when I saw the adorable Hey Pumpkin SVG files, I decided to create a couple of box cards featuring that sweet kitty!  Take a peek...

I started with the Hey Pumpkin October Garden Kitty 2 SVG.  The little kitty popping up from behind the pumpkin made me smile!  I cut the pieces from the Hey Pumpkin Coordinating Textured Cardstock and added some Bits & Pieces and Puffy Icons for the florals.  I love that the coordinating cardstock packs have the perfect colors!

I added the hello speech bubble from the Chit Chat pieces using a piece of heavyweight acetate so it looks like it's floating.

My next card features the Hey Pumpkin Pumpkin Kitty SVG.  The little fella in the pumpkin candy pail was too cute to resist!

I added some candy pieces from the Odds & Ends Pack and candy corn from the Puffy Icons.  The sentiment speech bubble is from the Chit Chat pieces.

I created a tutorial a few years ago showing how I convert flat cut files to 3D cards.  You can find that here on the Doodlebug blog. It will give you a general idea on how to create your own box cards featuring Doodlebug's cut files!  That's it for me today, I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
