OVER THE RAINBOW IT'S A RAINBOW KIND OF DAY LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna here today and the Over The Rainbow collection is one of my favorites so I was so happy to be able to create with it again! My son and his girlfriend went to Universal Studios last week and they took a photo with Poppy from the movie Trolls. I knew it would be the perfect photo to use with this collection. Here's my page:

This collection is so bright and happy with beautiful rainbows, so I decided to create a fun mixed media background using all of the colors! I pulled out coordinating paint sprays from Shimmerz Paints and sprayed them in rainbow order in a circle design on the Lily White cardstock from the coordinating cardstock pack.

I then set my background aside to dry and pulled out the Petite Print Assortment Paper Pack along with one of my floral punches. I punched out the flower twice on each paper so that I could be able to display both sides. These papers look so beautiful punched out!! I adhered all of them in that same circle design directly onto the coordinating spray color. I then ran it through my sewing machine several times to give my wreath that finished look.

I chose this adorable cloud piece as my title and adhered it on the right side of my wreath. I also tucked in the Hello Sunshine Doodle-Pop right above it and I love how they look together.

I decided to embellish tone on tone so I went through the Odds & Ends, Puffy Stickers and Spring Garden Shape Sprinkles and adhered each piece to their respective colors. So cute!

I matted my photo using the 6x6 Paper Pad and put it on the left side of my wreath, directly across from my title.

Here's one last look at this happy page. I love the background and all of the small details. This collection is adorable.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! It was a lot of fun to breakout this paper punch and make some shapes with those gorgeous prints!

Sprinkle it with Love - Vellum is back!

It's Monday! Can you believe the weekend has been and gone and here we are at the beginning of a brand new week and the start of our SPRINKLES VELLUM Spectacular. For the next two weeks our design team are going to showcase different ways of using this super cute product and hopefully inspire you to renew your love of vellum as it makes a resurgence in popularity.

'IN MY LIFE' Layout
by Melinda Spinks

Hello everyone, it's Melinda with you today and I'm here to share a layout I created that will hopefully give you a few ideas on how to use the Sprinkles Vellum in multiple layers.

Firstly I cut 5mm strips of the Bumblebee Vellum and layered them over each other to create a criss-cross background pattern. To adhere each strip I used a 3mm wide double sided tape which I am pleased to say doesn't show through as the Sprinkles vellum is slightly thicker than standard vellum and the colour and spots also help to hide adhesives.

I also dragged out my old Martha Stewart butterfly punch to cut this sweet little shape using the Peacock Vellum. Now I would normally recommend punching your vellum with a piece of standard copy paper behind it so the punch doesn't chew your vellum. However the extra thickness of the Sprinkles vellum worked perfectly in the punch. You may need to use the extra piece of paper with finer detailed punches.

And how lucky are we? Yes the Doodlebug Design team have been spoilt with a gorgeous selection of Petaloo flowers to play with. I must admit it has been quite some time since I've used flowers on a layout so after a slow start I realised just how much I've missed them.

I decided to add a few vellum leaves (Limeade Sprinkles Vellum) behind the floral embellishments which I adhered using a simple white craft glue that dries relatively clear. I wasn't too concerned with how much I used as I knew the tacky ends would be hiding underneath the flowers. However, it really only took a small drop to stick those leaves in place.

Doodlebug Supplies Used:
Sprinkles Vellum - Bumblebee, Cupcake, Limeade, Peacock
Sequins - Bumblebee, Cupcake, Limeade, Swimming Pool
Arrow Sprinkles - Bumbdlee, Cupcake, Limeade, Swimming Pool
This and That Stickers - Kraft In Colour, Springtime
Expressions Rub-ons

Other:
Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Black Velvet
Petaloo Flowers
Embroidery Thread - White
Punches - Butterfly, Leaf

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for more ideas on adding the Sprinkles Vellum to your craft projects.

Hip Hip Hooray: Layout Inspiration by Melinda

Happy Thursday... it's Melinda with you today and I'm going to show Hip Hip Hooray's versatility by sharing a layout I created with a non-birthday or celebratory theme! Sometimes it's easy to look at a collection and think 'I love it but I just don't scrap that particular theme'... however, if you flip the papers over you'll find an array of gorgeous patterns and prints that can be used for any style of layout... if you love it then you'll find a way!

I must admit I find it hard to go past a chevron print so used the grey reverse side of the Shades of Chevron for my background paper. Then I decided to go a little wild with colour by adding more of the reverse papers in a wave panel across the page. The idea was to really make the panel 'pop' against the grey background plus to have a little fun!

Now the actual theme of this layout isn't one I really wanted to celebrate because it broke my heart to make the decision to finally cut my little man's hair. However, he wasn't worried about it at all and was actually quite cute and cheeky during the trim so I decided to use that as my inspiration which led me to the collage of Sprinkles, Sequins, Buttons, Stickers etc!

The photo collage was mounted on a mat of patterned paper layers to which I added small touches of the new Sprinkles vellum to soften the overall look.

Would love for my hand writing to be this neat but sadly I can't lay claim to the journaling as I used the mini rub-ons in Lily White.
