HELLO AGAIN YOU MAKE ME SMILE LAYOUT | with Tarrah

Have you seen the super cute camera elements in the Hello Again collection?! I just love them and knew I wanted to create a project to feature them! I chose the Hello Again camera cut file and cut each piece from the Hello Again Coordinating Textured Cardstock pack using my Silhouette Cameo machine. I added my photo to the centre of the photo, I love how this looks!

Once the large cut file camera was all pieced together, I adhered it to a plain piece of white cardstock using craft foam underneath. I trimmed down the white cardstock to measure approximately 11' x 11' and adhered it to the 'B' side of the 12' x 12' Green Thumb paper. I also adhered a piece of the Green Thumb paper from the 6' x 6' paper pad underneath the camera, I like the pop of green.

At the top of the layout I placed one of the scalloped border stickers from the This and That cardstock sticker sheet. I also chose some of the smaller stickers from the same sheet to add to the top of the camera and I added the pink tab sticker on the left hand side.

I absolutely LOVE the Little Charmers and could not resist adding the camera from the Pretty Picture set, I threaded it on to some of the new mini twine color in Mint. I added a yellow die-cut butterfly to the left of the photo and also added one of the gorgeous Gold Enamel Dot Sprinkles on top of the camera. I chose my title to be the 'You Make Me Smile' die-cut piece and adhered this below the camera using a mixture of craft foam and regular adhesive.

I tucked in lots of the gorgeous floral die-cuts from the Bits and Pieces pack both top and bottom of the camera and also could not resist adding the Pretty Picture Doodle-Pop to the right of the cut file camera. I also tucked one of the scallop circle die-cuts and the gold rectangle journal spot both from the Bits and Pieces pack too. Lastly I stamped the date stamp of when the photo was taken.

I love how my layout turned out and I hope you enjoyed reading about how I created it?! Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy creating!

PETITE PRINTS YETI BOX CARD | with Kathy

Doodlebug's Petite Prints... whether it be the new Buffalo Check-Woodgrain, the Dot-Stripe, Floral Graph or Gingham Linen versions are an absolute must have in my craft stash.  I love how they coordinate perfectly with all of Doodlebug's collections and they are the perfect choice when working with Doodlebug's Cut files... which is one of my favorite activities!  I especially love turning Doodlebug's one dimensional cut files into three dimensional projects, like this fun Yeti Box Card... take a peek...

I started with the Winter Wonderland Tram Car SVG File.  I cut 2 of these from the Lilac Buffalo Check - Woodgrain Petite Prints and put them on either side of a box shape I made.  I added some transparency sheets behind the windows to look like glass.    I then decorated the car with stripes of the Bubble Blue, Blue Jean and Swimming Pool versions of the Woodgrain Petite Prints and some Snowflake Shaped Sprinkles from the Winter Wonderland Collection.

Riding the tram is the adorable Yeti!  I pieced him together using the Winter Wonderland Yeti Skis SVG file and some Dot-Stripe, Floral Graph and Woodgrain Petite Prints.    I love how the Petite Prints Color Palette allow me to make him look exactly like he does on the Icon Sticker Sheet.  I added a little insert into the box and attached him to it so he looks like he's standing there waving to his friends!  To finish the card, I added a sentiment speech bubble from the Winter Wonderland Chit Chat pieces.

If you've used Doodlebug's Petite Prints in a project... be sure to tag us on Facebook and Instagram.  We always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

BUNDLE OF JOY CIRCULAR POP UP BABY ALBUM | with Kathy

There's nothing quite as cute as a baby smile... well maybe their toes, or their little chubby arms... their little noses, dimpled hands and belly laughs... don't forget the belly laughs!  As you can tell I'm quite a fan!  I am definitely the one who "hogs" the baby at family events.  So needless to say, the new Bundle of Joy Collection is a new favorite!  I made a fun "Baby's First Year" album using all the cute papers and icons... take a peek...

I started with this Circular Pop Up Card File from Lori Whitlock.  I added six sections, one for every 2 months.  On each section instead of just gluing the background paper, I sewed around the sides and bottom to form a pocket.  In each pocket I added a tag where you can record the new baby's weight and length each month of the first year.  On top of the pocket, you can add a photo.  Here are the inside pages.  The Chit Chat month pieces were perfect!

It was so fun picking the different Odds & Ends to decorate the months!  The album is held open with a mini clip, but it also folds "flat".

This would make such a great gift for a new mom to be or even a Mimi to be!  Have you used the new Bundle of Joy in any of your projects?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We love to see your creations.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

BUNNY TRAIN | with Kathy

I've always loved Easter Crafts.  There are so many sweet little images... bunnies, chicks, eggs... they are hard to resist.  Add some Doodlebug icons, colors and embellishments... it's cuteness overload!  I mixed it all together and came up with this fun project... take a peek...

So you're probably asking... "Is it a card, or is it a decor piece?"  The answer is YES!  The project started as a box card, with the bunny riding the train.  I loved how he turned out but then I thought, he needed some friends.

So... I added a couple of train cars with eggs and a chick!  These two parts are also box cards in their own right that are attached with simple little strips that connect the cars.

You can make this strictly as a home decor piece, but you could also make the 3 separate cards, which fold flat, mail them to someone special along with the strips and instructions on how to attach them!  That would be such a fun surprise!

Want to make one to send?? (or keep??)  I created an SVG file for this project.  It's available exclusively in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop here.

Below are some simple assembly instructions....

1)  To assemble the bunny "engine" first cut the pieces.  The sentiment is done as a print and cut.  Add the embellishments to the layers as shown.
2) Attach the train pieces together by gluing one of the small side pieces to the front and back as shown. (on the side with the biggest wheel)
3)  Attach the tab of the bunny insert to the inside of the side piece you just glued, the tab should be flush with the back fold.  Add the other side piece to the remaining tab on the insert.
4)  Attach the tabs of the 2nd side piece to the front and back train pieces.

5)  This will form the engine part of the project.
6)  Next, cut the pieces for the 2 train cars.  Both cars are assembled in the same manner, I am showing the egg car.
7)  Add the embellishments to the pieces as shown.  Fold the "box" into shape, glue with the tab inside.
8)  Add the car sides & wheels to both sides of the box you made in step 7.  Align the top edges and center.
9) Add glue to the tabs on the insert.  Slide into the box, and press the tabs to the sides to hold.  Repeat this general process for the other car
10)  The cards can now all fold flat and can be mailed if you wish.  To attach the cars and engine together, there are 2 small tabs included in the file.  Fold both score lines.  Glue one tab to the engine, and one to the first car to attach.  The strips have a hole in the center if you wish to add a brad, I added a glitter sprinkle enamel dot.  Repeat with the 2nd strip and the 2 cars.  Done!

I hope this card brings a little sunshine to your day!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

SIMPLY SPRING WATERING CAN BOX CARD | with Kathy

Need a card to send to someone for a special occasion, or maybe just to brighten their day?  I created this watering can box card, and it would be perfect for a number of different occasions including Easter, Mother's Day, Birthdays, Spring or just because!  Take a peek...

This box card is based on the Watering Can from the Simply Spring Collection.  I used a combination of papers from the Love Notes, Petite Prints and Spring Things Collections to piece it together then added a sentiment to the tag using the new All Occasion Doodle Stamps.  These stamps are just awesome, there is a sentiment for almost any occasion!  I finished the card with some sprinkles for my flower centers!

I created an SVG file for this card so you can make and send your very own!  It is available exclusively in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop here.  Following is a quick assembly tutorial ...

1) Start by cutting the pieces.  Add the decorative panels to the box card base and add the flower pieces to the insert.
2) Glue the two pieces of the handle together.  Do not add adhesive to the tabs on either end.  Repeat with the spout pieces.
3 & 4) Insert the handle into the two slots on the card base.  Turn over and fold "open" the tabs.  Glue the tabs to the inside of the box.  Repeat process with the Spout.

5)  Glue the box into shape, tab goes on the inside of the box.
6)  Add adhesive to the tabs of the insert.  Fold them back.
7)  Slide the Insert into the box, align the tabs with the back of the box and press the tabs to the sides to adhere.

All that is left is to pick your sentiment for the tag that is included with the card and tie it around the watering can!

I'm sure there are many folks who would just love to receive a card in these days of social distancing, and this would certainly bring a smile to the recipient's face!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CHRISTMAS MAGIC MASON JAR CARD | with Kathy

During the holidays, I like to bake for my neighbors and close friends, but time doesn't always allow me to bake as much as I'd like!  Perfect solution... a jar full of Doodlebug Christmas Magic!  I designed this fun Mason Jar Box Card and filled it with some of the candy and gingerbread Chit Chat pieces!  How "sweet" is that?!  Take a peek..

Here's a side view...
I completed the card with a little tag from the Christmas Magic 6x6 pad...

Now for the fun part!  I've created an SVG file for the Mason Jar Card Base and it is available exclusively in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop here!
The file includes the Jar card base only, you can fill it with almost anything!  It's pretty easy to assemble, I've outlined the steps below.

1.  Start by cutting the pieces of the file.  You will need a transparency sheet for the front of the card.  They are widely available in Office Supply Stores and on-line.
2.  Glue the darker grey cardstock pieces behind the jar covers.
3.  Glue the jar frame to the transparency jar.
4.  Glue the single cover to the background jar piece.

5.  Fold the score lines on the bottom piece.  Fold the longest strip in half along the score line and glue onto the base towards the center.  This is the piece to which you will glue your jar "fillings."
6.  Attach the front and back Jar pieces to the base as shown.  Make sure the edges are flush so that it will stand properly.
7.  Glue the attached jar lids to the backside of the jar back, making sure the covers are aligned.
8.  On the left is the card ready to be filled.  On the right are the Chit Chat pieces I used to fill my jar.

9.  I started by attaching a few of the gingerbread men together using foam tape between the layers to give them some dimension.
10.  Add some adhesive to the feet of the gingerbread men and glue them to the strip on the base.
11.  Add some Candy pieces to the back of the jar using foam tape for dimension.
12.  To add more items, I cut 2 of the 1" scored strips, and added some candies to them.

13.  Glue the bottom of the strip with the candies and attach to the base of the jar in front of the gingerbread men.
14. Repeat step 12 with another gum drop
15.  Add that strip to the jar base as in step 13.
16.  Once all of your pieces are in the jar, add some adhesive to the back of the front jar lid and attach up and over the front jar piece.  I also tied on one of little tags from the Christmas Magic 6x6 pad with some Doodle Twine.

This card folds flat and will fit in a 5x7 envelope.  We would love to see your creations using this file and the Christmas Magic Collection.  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram so we can see what you've made!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CHRISTMAS MAGIC FOR COFFEE LOVERS | with Kathy

Now that Halloween is over, it time to start your Christmas Crafting... and the new Christmas Magic Collection is perfect for your creations!  The patterns, the tags, the icons.... it's all just so fabulous!  I decided to start this crafting season by making gifts for my coffee loving friends. Take a peek...

This fun coffee cup was made with
this SVG from Lori Whitlock. I pieced it together using the Jolly St. Nick, Visions of Sugarplums and Wrapping Paper papers. The tag was cut from the Christmas Tags Paper... this paper has 18 different tags!  To embellish I added a gingerbread man from the Odds & Ends and some sprinkles from the Holly & Pine Shaped Sprinkles. I attached it to the cup using some Doodle Twine and a Mini Clothespin.

Inside the cup I plan on adding a gift card to a local coffee spot and some goodies!  This would also be perfect for teachers, coaches and the like!
Have you made any projects using Christmas Magic?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram!  We would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CANDY CARNIVAL PUMPKIN PENCIL TOPPERS | with Kathy

Halloween is almost here!  I still haven't purchased candy.... but I have a cute project that would be a perfect little gift for the kids, friends or even for the classroom!  Take a peek...

How cute are these little pumpkin pencil toppers??  I used the 3 pumpkin SVGs from the Candy Carnival SVG files available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  I pieced them together using a combination of the Candy Carnival Collection and some Petite Prints.
I added a few of the spider stickers from the Candy Carnival Mini Icons Stickers to embellish.
The pumpkins are attached to the pencil by this little Pencil topper base that I created.   You could attach almost anything to the pencils using this, such as stickers from the Icons Sheet or Odds & Ends Pieces.  These would make great classroom gifts if you're looking for a candy-free alternative.  All you need are some cute pencils which you can get online or at your local craft or office supply store.  You can download the pencil topper base for free on my blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CANDY CARNIVAL NUGGET WRAPS | with Kathy

When my daughter was in grade school, I used to love making fun treats to send in to her class for Halloween.  I decided that this tradition didn't need to stop just because she is away at college.  This year I came up with these cute little Nugget Candy Holders using the Candy Carnival Cut files that are available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  Take a peek...

These little holders are really easy to make.  You start with a 4.5"x 1.5" strip of paper.  You then score it at 1.5", 2.5" and 4".

That allows you to fold it into a little triangle with a fold over flap.  A Nugget Candy fits perfectly in the bottom, and you can secure it in there with a glue dot.  All that was left was to decorate the front with one of the cute little cut files!

If you also would like to cover the candy bars themselves like I did in the first photo, just cut a 1" x 3" strip of coordinating paper and wrap it around the candy and secure with adhesive.  Have you made any projects using the new Candy Carnival Cut Files ?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
