HOMETOWN USA FIREWORKS PAGE | with Traci

Hey guys!  With the July 4th holiday just around the corner, I decided to create a super fun 12x12 scrapbook layout. I've been loving the Hometown USA Collection but I haven't used its Shadow Box Insert Kit yet. So ... today's the day! 🎉 I think this page turned out so cute and celebratory. I just love it!

12x12 July 4th Fireworks Scrapbook Page by Artsy Albums

If you haven't used one of the Shadow Box Insert Kits yet ... I totally recommend. It comes with a circle template, white cardstock, vellum, and tons of adorable stickers. You place the stickers on the vellum with the help of a template behind it and when you remove the template ... voila! The cutest patriotic collage ever!

12x12 July 4th Scrapbook Page Layout with lots of cute patriotic stickers

These are so fun and every paper collection has one. The Hometown USA kit is filled with fireworks, the Statue of Liberty, American flags, a hot air balloon, enamel sprinkles, and so many great images.

12x12 July 4th Scrapbook Page Layout with fireworks, Uncle Sam, a banner, and enamel stars

Here's how I created the layout ...

I used the 12x12 Land of the Free red hearts paper as the base and layered white cardstock and the 12x12 Summer Celebration fireworks print on top.

Then, I cut out a 7.25" circle from the red Land of the Free paper and used that behind the round collage.

12x12 July 4th Scrapbook Page Layout with fireworks, lots of cute stickers, a tag, and twine

Next, I matted my photos and added those to the page. I chose the 6x6 stripe print called Red, White, and Blue behind the photo above. I thought the smaller size worked better.

And finally, I decorated the page with die cuts from the Bits & Pieces and Chit Chat. I used 1 sticker from the This & That (the metallic silver USA in the photo above) and added a little bit of ladybug twine to my tag.

Such a fun and simple layout but I think the fireworks and fun collage make such a big impact. Perfect for the 4th of July celebrations.

I hope this layout inspires you to create something wonderful with the Hometown USA collection and the Shadow Box Insert Kit. They will definitely have you looking forward to the holiday!

HELLO AGAIN GUEST DESIGNER ALI SKIFTON

We are so excited to have a guest designer for our Hello Again collection!  Please give a warm welcome to Ali Skifton!

I am so excited to be the Guest Designer for Doodlebug Design and I get to play with the new Hello Again collection!   I am drooling over the gold foil that is sprinkled everywhere you look.

I used a 12x12 white cardstock as my base.  I pulled  two 6X6 sheets out of the paper pad and I selected a 12x12 sheet of swimming pool petite print, which I cut down to 6x6.  I handstitched the pink and blue 6x6 paper blocks onto the white cardstock with white thread.  I went with the pink thread to sew around the 6x6 heart paper.

I double matted my photo from Barbie Café and added foam tape behind it to pop off the stitched heart paper.  The die cut; You Make the World a Better Place was a perfect title to document my trip to Barbie Café in Chicago.

These flowers in this collection are my favorite!   I layered a bunch of them around both sides of my picture, so they are wrapping around it.  On the right side of my picture, I added a butterfly doodle-pops that is floating around the pretty flowers.

The sprinkles were perfect to add to the center of the flowers to make them pop even more.  I used foam tape behind some of the Bits & Pieces to give the page a garden feel.   I sprinkled gold hearts and gold enamel dots around the flower clusters.

Thanks for stopping by!  I am sure you want to pick up this collection if you haven’t already!

HELLO AGAIN ENVELOPE ALBUM | With Traci

Hey guys! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a flower-filled "Friends" mini album. I made it with the beautiful Hello Again Collection and some simple white envelopes. I love, love, love this new collection. It has so many gorgeous embellishments to choose from, so ... I just packed a little bit of everything into this mini!🌸

I used five 6.5"x 5" envelopes, all facing pocket side up. Since I wanted to fill the cover with these colorful flower die cuts, I knew I would lose the first pocket. But this cover is so pretty ... it was totally worth it!

At the bottom, I added the "friends" title from the Chit Chat, gold foil scalloped washi tape from the original Hello Collection, and a pink border sticker from the This & That.

The Bits and Pieces include such pretty flowers, leaves, and shapes AND some have gold foil on them! I layered them at the top and added lots of shiny enamel sprinkles. I added the year with metallic gold Alphabet Soup puffy stickers and finished it off with the Fancy Flutters butterfly Doodle-pops. I love it all!

Inside, I covered each page with a different 12x12 print. Here, I used the Butterfly Garden paper and added back-to-back matching die cuts at the top. I included another butterfly Doodle-pops, some tiny metallic gold hearts from the Hello Love shape sprinkles, and the "best friends forever" sticker from the This & That.

The love the smaller sized prints in the 6x6 paper pad. I used one of the journaling cards from it on the page above. The pretty butterfly is from the Odds & Ends and I added a gold enamel dot on the butterfly for more shine.

On this page, I chose a fabulous tag and more flowers from the Bits & Pieces, some twine, and a few gold hearts and dots. Like I said, I added a little bit of everything and it was so much fun!

I lined the inside of the pockets with beautiful pattern papers and included a card for photos, journaling, or memorabilia. Here, I added a cute "memories" sticker (This & That sheet) to a tab from the bits & pieces and a pink border sticker from the same sticker sheet

On this pocket, I created a little neighborhood scene. To make it a bit more to scale, I mixed pieces from the Odds & Ends and mini icons stickers. So cute!

I hope my Friends envelope mini album inspires a cute project idea for you. The Hello Again Collection is just amazing and I love all the gold foil accents. Happy crafting everyone! 😊

SEASIDE SUMMER TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOKS | with Wanda

Hello crafty Doodlebug friends! Wanda here today and I'm so excited to be sharing a project made with the brand new Seaside Summer Collection! EEEP! It's so cute and fun and the perfect thing for Summer! I adore the bright colors and all the beach/ocean/summer themes! I just know that you're going to love creating with this collection too! I am a planner and list making gal, and I do love Traveler's Notebooks. I decided to make my own Traveler's Notebook Inserts using the Seaside Summer Collection. I made three notebooks to tuck into my bag, to keep track of all the fun Summer things! It was so easy and fun to make these - I hope you give it a try!

Here are my three notebooks... The covers are 12x12 papers, and then I decorated them inside and out using all the other cool elements: stickers, chit chats, Sprinkles, twine...and more! Each notebook finished measures 8.25" x 4.25" which is the standard size.

These papers are so fantastic! It was very hard to decide which papers to use, because I love them all!

Here are my finished notebooks without any decorations. To make them, I cut cardstock into 8.5" x 8.25" pieces. I used patterned paper for the cover, and then inside I used white paper (32#), vellum, and other Doodlebug tags, etc. Use a scoring board or bone folder to crease each page in half on the longer side. You can use any paper inside. I think the max would be about 7-8 sheets folded to give you a nice book. I used a long reach stapler to staple the crease three times to hold the papers together. That's it! Super easy!

1

To keep the books closed I made 'belly bands' for each book using white cardstock in 2" strips. I wrapped them around each book and then added elements onto the strips. It's easy to slide the closure piece right off and write, and then close it up again! You can also wrap them closed with some twine or elastic. I added gems and sprinkles to the covers for a bit of sparkle!

Here are a few photos of the inside pages. You can make this into a mini scrapbook, a list book, planner....whatever you like! I think it would be fun to add small photos too!

FAIRY GARDEN ACRYLIC TAB ALBUM | with Traci

Happy Spring everyone!  This is my favorite season of the year so it was easy for me to pick a theme for this week's project  -- sunshine, flowers and rainbows!  And Fairy Garden was the perfect collection!

For this mini, I used an acrylic tabbed album and lots of DoodlePops!  Actually, that adorable sunshine on the cover is a Shaker-Pop called Sunsational.  I also used Double Rainbow because I wanted one on the front cover and one backing it on the inside.  Isn't the little row of hearts cute??  The cloud and hearts are from another Doodle-Pop called Over the Rainbow.

When you open the cover, the pieces on the front cover show through the clear acrylic, so I covered up the adhesive side with additional Doodle-Pops.  This sun is called Fun in the Sun and I just love that sweet smiling face and the epoxy rays.

I used 12x12 and 6x6 patterns from the collection to create photo mats and layers.  I also had fun hunting through the odds & ends to find pieces that back up to each other nicely ... like this snail and mushroom.  There's a lilac snail and a lime mushroom on the other side :)

I wanted a journaling spot in the album so I created a little flippie so photos could hide inside.  They will look really cute on the plaid mats!

Did you see all of those cute shape sprinkles on the tabs?  I think they add a fun touch across the top of the album.  They are from Hello Sunshine, With All My Heart, and Chasing Rainbows.

I hope this Spring album inspires you to create a fun project with Fairy Garden!  Thanks for letting me share my newest mini with you!
