MY HAPPY PLACE ORGANIZER BOX | with Miguel

I am a big fan of the houses in the My Happy Place Collection, so today I have a second wooden house that I altered using the collection.   The steps are very easy, I started by painting a wooden house with black acrylic paint.  Once painted, I selected the papers that we will use to give color and fun to my piece .

It's such a fun house, I had to decide how I wanted to use it.   In addition to being a nice décor piece, I thought it would also make a great organizer.  A perfect place for those of us who lose our keys, lol.  I even made a fun coordinating keychain using the new Bright Bouquet Just Charming clip & keychain, the ideal companion to my box!

I also thought that it would be a fun place to leave family photos and notes, to start our day off well, or as a welcome home after work... Cute don't you think?

I say goodbye for now, as always hoping you are inspired!  Thanks reading today!

LOTS OF LOVE FEBRUARY ORGANIZER NOTEBOOK | with Miguel

Without a doubt, time goes by super-fast and we are already in the month of love so I am going to celebrate it in a big way.   Today I made this notebook to organize my month, I wanted to schedule all my plans and meetings with friends and many more activities!

I created my notebook from scratch, cutting gray cardboard including white sheets. I cinched it with We R' Disc Cinch. Personally, I think this tool gives my notebook an fabulous finish. I love it!!!  I then decorated with lots of embellishments from the the Lots of Love collection.

On the cover I used this beautiful phone from the Doodle Pops, I also included pieces from the Bits & Pieces pack to create a super cute scene and as always, I used sprinkles to brighten the project.

Inside, I created pockets to store letters or whatever you can think of!   I love this beautiful transparent separator using acetate that I embossed with a hearts folder, I then added washi tape and added even more with heart shape sprinkles.

I now have organized myself with this beautiful notebook!  See you soon!

CUTE & CRAFTY ORGANIZER | with Miguel

Cute and Crafty is a collection that all scrappers have been asking for and today the dream is a reality thanks to Doodlebug!  As soon as I saw the collection, I fell completely in love with it, the designs and colors are really beautiful.  So today I present the first project of a series that I plan to do for the Doodlebug area in my scrap room!

One of my favorite ways to craft is to embellish wood boxes like this organizer.  I painted it in pink tones since I thought it was a color that most girls love and it is also a big part of the Doodlebug color palette.

I made a shaker for the front part.  I used the ruler border that on the B side of the Painted Posies Cardstock. Personally that sheet is one of my favorites! Inside my shaker I placed small plastic beads and 3 buttons from the coordinating boutique buttons.  They look beautiful inside.

For the remaining sides I cut pieces of cardboard, covered them with some of the patterned paper to give a bit more dimension to the project. I finished decorating with the beautiful DoodlePops. The little Glue Gun is my favorite!

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Don't miss my next post! I hope I gave you some inspiration and  I say goodbye and until next time.

DOODLE-POP ORGANIZER TUTORIAL | with Kathy

Hello my name is Kathy and I'm a Doodle-Pop Hoarder.  So much so that I had to create a storage solution.  My storage box was posted on the Doodlebug Facebook Page recently and I was surprised at the response!  So many of you asked, so I got my act together and put together a tutorial.  This organizer holds approximately 120 Doodle-Pops, or Doodlebug Sprinkles packs.

For my tutorial I'm showing how to make one without a cutting machine.  Originally I created an SVG file to make one.  It is available on my blog, along with a Silhouette version here.  The cut file versions are assembled in the same general manner.
Start by cutting the pieces.
From a good heavyweight cardstock cut the following (I used 80 lb. cover weight cardstock)
Cut 3    7 3/8 " x 11 ½ "
Cut 1     8 ¾ " x 7"
Cut 2     8 ¾" x 2 ¼ "
Cut 2     7" x 2 ¼ "
From Patterned Paper
Cut 2     6 ¾ “ x 2"
Cut 2     8 ½” x 2”
I recommend you put this together using a liquid glue.  I use Scotch Quick Dry, it works well and holds up when I over-stuff it with Doodle-Pops.

Start with the three 7 3/8 “ x 11 ½” pieces. Score each piece as shown above. After scoring cut where the solid lines are.
1)  I also cut a a bit off each of the tabs, starting from about 1/4" down the long side side,  and cutting up to the fold line.  This helps make the sides of the finished box more smooth and even.
2) This is what it looks like with all the fold/cut lines
3) Fold up the short ends and fold in the tabs.  Add glue to the tabs and adhere to the long side of the box.
4) Repeat with the other tabs/side until a box is formed.  Do this for the other two scored pieces, and let dry.
5) Glue the 3 boxes together as shown, make sure they are all aligned.  Let dry.
6)  Glue the 8 ¾ " x 7" piece to the bottom of the 3 boxes.
7)  Glue the 8 ¾" x 2 ¼ " pieces to the long sides, covering the seams.
8)  Glue the 7" x 2 ¼ " pieces to the shorter sides.  It gives the sides a little more strength.  Lastly, glue on the decorative panels (the patterned paper strips.)

As part of the Silhouette and SVG files, I've also included the divider tabs and labels (which are print & cut).  For folks who do not have a cutting machine, I've created a PDF you can use to print on cardstock and hand cut.  It's available here on my blog.
One last note... this organizer also works perfectly for all of the Doodlebug Sprinkles!  Discovered this by accident... now I need to make more!

How would you like to get some Doodle Pops of your own?  When sorting through mine for this post, I realized I had a LOT of duplicates.  I'm giving away sets of 5 random Doodle Pops to 9 of my Instagram followers.   Head over my Instagram Account to enter to win!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
