FARMHOUSE TURKEY TIME TREAT HOLDERS | with Kathy

It's almost Thanksgiving... you know what that means... Turkey!  What do you call a group of turkeys?  After a search online I came up with a few options... a Flock, a Rafter, a Gang, and in some cases a Gaggle.  Whatever you call them, I created a whole bunch of them using the Farmhouse collection and the Turkey Time Doodle Cuts.  Take a peek...

We have a big crew for Thanksgiving... I made these little turkeys into a treat holders to put on everyone's plate.  These would also make super cute classroom treats, or a little something for your office friends.

Using the Turkey Time Doodle Cuts, I cut the pieces from a combination of Farmhouse Coordinating Textured Cardstock, Farmhouse Patterned papers and some Petite Prints.  The little eyes were done using An Eye for an Eye Shaped Sprinkles.

On the back of each turkey I created a triangular holder... it serves double duty.  First, of course, it holds the candy treat, and it also allows the turkey to stand upright.  It's really simple to put together.  I cut a strip of Textured cardstock measuring 1" x 6".  I then scored it at 3/8", 2 3/8" and 3 5/8".  I added a Lindor Ball using a glue dot, then secured the triangle, and to the back of the turkey using double sided tape.

I put together a quick video tutorial showing how I assembled them.  Once the papers were cut, they went together super quick!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!

FARMHOUSE SHAKER PLACE CARDS | with Jen

Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away. Good thing the brand new Farmhouse collection is perfect to make some fun place cards!

I used the 6x6 paper pad to make some cute shaker place cards perfect for my Thanksgiving gathering. I used some of the new Doodle-Pops and Shaker-Pops to decorate them and filled them with the new Shades of Fall and Fall Flowers shaker mixes. I used Tangerine Alphabet Soup puffy stickers to add the names.

Look at that cute shaker fill!

Want to make your own? Start with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock. Cut it to 7 1/4" high and then cut that piece into 4" wide pieces Take your leftover piece and cut it to 4" and 7 1/4" high to get four place cards from one sheet.

With the 7 1/4" side along the top of your score board score at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4", and 4 3/4".

Fold as pictured below.

Add your matting and shaker frame using foam tape and acetate and you're ready to go! Or skip the shaker to make it even easier.

Have a great day!

LET IT SNOW CHRISTMAS TABLE SETTING | with Wanda

Hi everyone! Happy to be here sharing part of your Christmas week with you! I was thinking of what project to make and I thought - what do we need last minute? We need place settings and things for our beautiful Christmas table! I used the wonderful Let It Snow Collection to make place cards, napkin rings and treat boxes sure to make your guests smile. Quick and easy projects with a big impact! Wishing you and your family a great holiday!

Here is my table setting with a red placemat and a gingham napkin. I made the place card holder by gluing three candy canes together with hot glue! It's so fun and festive. The candy popper is filled with sweet treats and the napkin ring is a nice welcome to the meal.

A

To make the napkin ring, I cut a strip of that pretty peppermint striped paper and made a circle. I die cut a stitched circle from white cardstock and attached that awesome Christmas Time Doodle Pop! I added a greeting and some mini jewels too. One good thing about these projects is you can add as little or as much embellishment as you have time for.

To make the table treats I used the WRMK Candy Box Punch Board. I made the box from the O Christmas Tree paper and wrapped it with the Sweet Santa paper! I used Chunky Twine and some big jewels to close the ends and add a bit of bling. For the top, I used stickers and Odds & Ends Pieces to decorate. I used cardstock folded in half to make a pop up element. It's so sweet on the table.

Here is my place card. I set a place for Santa, cuz I really want him to come! I die cut a scalloped rectangle and added the I Love Santa Doodle Pop and then some gems and Snowflake Sprinkles. I used the Abigail Alphabet in black to add the name.

I'm wishing you a holly jolly happy holiday! I will be back soon. Until then, happy crafting!

GREAT OUTDOORS THANKSGIVING PLACE CARDS | with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  I'm so excited that we can actually do "in person" Thanksgiving this year!  It's one of my favorite holidays... family, friends... the carbs... it's all so fun!  In addition to the turkey and all the fixings... I love to add a little something to each place setting.  This year I made these fun little Truffle Box Place Cards.  I got the idea from a gift box in a card I saw on Pinterest.  I thought it would be fun to downsize it a bit to make it a place card using the Great Outdoors Collection.  Take a peek...

The place cards are made up of an easel base with a cut out that perfectly fits a little box with a cover.  The boxes are sized for a small treat.  I love all of the fall colors of the papers in the collection,  it's hard to pick a favorite... maybe the Bits of Nature, but then I adore the plaid side of the Wildflowers cardstock too!

To create my name pieces, I printed everyone's name on some white cardstock.  I then cut out the ovals using the Mini-tags Doodle Cuts.

Decorating the place cards was my favorite part.  I stamped lots of leaves and acorns from the It's Fall Y'All Doodle Stamp Set.  I colored them with my Copics and fussy-cut them.  If you're not into fussy cutting, there are matching Doodle Cut dies for the set, but I find the cutting very relaxing!

I popped up the leaves and acorns on the covers with a little foam tape and then added one last leaf to the front of the place card.  I finished them off with some mini jewels on the leaf.  I can't wait to see them on my table!

Would you like to create your own truffle box place cards?  I created a cut file for them and it is currently available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop, and it will be coming soon to the Silhouette Store.  I've linked below to the SVG.  If you make some, be sure to tag @doodlebugdesign on Facebook and Instagram.  We always love to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Christmas Town Place Cards | with Kathy

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!  Hopefully all of your shopping is done and you're just putting the final touches on Christmas!  I decided last minute that I wanted to add place cards to my Christmas table, so of course I pulled out some Christmas Town and got to work!  These little place card treat boxes were put together using the Christmas Town 6x6 Pad and the Icons Sticker Sheet!

Each box holds a sweet treat inside!

The boxes were pretty simple to make.  I used this thin metal die and my Sizzix to make the boxes using papers from the 6x6 Pad.  Then I added the cute little Icon Stickers to the top...

For each place card, I created a box and chose a sticker from the Icons sheet.  I punched 2 circles using a 1/2" circle punch.  I also created name banners using the print and cut feature of my Silhouette, but you could easily hand write the names on a little hand cut banner.
To create the "stand" for each sticker, I folded each of the circles in half, then glued them together as shown in the second picture.
I used my powder tool on the back of each sticker to make it "un-sticky"  You could also use regular baby powder or corn starch as well. This is so it doesn't stick to everything once it's on the box.
Finally, I added some adhesive to the bottom of my sticker and stuck it to the stand I created.  This can then be glued to the top of your box.
Here are some close-ups of the individual place card boxes...

I can't wait to put them on my table!  That's it for me today...I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
