HELLO AGAIN POP UP CARDS | with Kathy

Hello friends!  It's good to be back after a short break, and how lucky am I to come back to the Hello Again Collection??  I love all the fun flowers, butterflies, the bright colors... everything!  I decided to make some fun pop up cards using the new coordinating Butterfly Wishes and Home Sweet Home Doodle Cuts.  Take a peek!

My first card was so fun to put together. All of the dies are from the Butterfly Wishes Doodle Cuts.  I cut the butterflies and flowers from a combination of the Hello Again 6x6 pad and some of the new Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid-Polka Dot Petite Prints.  To add a bit of shine, I also cut the gold envelope that is part of the coordinating cards and envelope set.

To make my butterflies seem like they are flying, I glued pieces of acetate to my base, and then added the butterflies to the acetate.  I love how it looks like they are floating!  The sentiment was cut using the Thanks Die included in the Butterfly Wishes set.

My next card was made using the Home Sweet Home Doodle Cuts Set.  My nephew just purchased his first home and I can't wait to give them this fun card!  I added some flowers from the Hello Love Shaped Sprinkles to the window boxes and to the base of the card.  My sentiment is from the This and That Sticker Sheet.

Again, I used the vellum trick to make the heart "puffs" seem to rise from the chimney, and also to add the sun and clouds to the sky.

These cards were so fun to put together!  Have you created any projects with the Hello Again Collection or the coordinating Doodle Cuts?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Socials, we always love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thank you for stopping by to peek!

PETITE PRINTS TIME WELL SPENT LAYOUT | with Lisa

This week I have a fun layout for you, created with the wonderful Petite Prints. I was in the mood for an artsy, mixed-media layout, full of color.

To start, I cut out a lot of circles from both sides of the Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid-Polka Dot Petite Prints. I mainly used Cupcake, Bubblegum, Coral, Bubble Blue, Pistachio and Lemon.

Then I placed them aside and created my mixed media background. To do that, I ripped random pieces of the 12x12 petite prints papers and placed them on the layout, creating this random, whimsical composition. I adhered them to a sheet of white cardstock and then came in with some white gesso and a dry brush and created a few white spots here and there. I added some color and white gesso until I was happy and then I let it dry.

I added a few strips of the thin gingham washi tapes here and there. I also drew a few crosses with my pencil and splattered some gold paint all over the page. Then it was time to add the flowers. I added them in a diagonal pattern and layered some of them. I added the photo that I matted with a piece of patterned paper and placed it on the layout. I also wanted to add a few green leaves, so I cut some out and adhered those too.

For the centers of the flowers, I addded a bit of liquid glue to each of them and then sprinkled Sugar Coating glitter on top. Love how that looks :) I created my title using Abigail and Skinny alphas. To finish the layout, I added some jewels, I love how this turned out! Thank you for stopping by, see you again soon!.

PETITE PRINTS LOVE YOU FUR-EVER MINI ALBUM | with Conny

Hey Friends! It's Conny Craig back sharing a mini album using then new Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid Polka Dot Petite Prints to create the album and the Doggone Cute Collection for the embellishments!

Let’s get started!  You will need two Chipboard pieces measuring 5” X 4” for the covers, a 5" x 2" piece for the spine and one sheet 12” X 12” Bubble Blue Candy Stripe-Sprinkles Petite Prints. When wrapping your Chipboard center your pieces on the cardstock.   I like to leave about a 1” border to wrap around. Also,  make sure to leave 1/8" at each point of the Chipboard when cutting the diagonal cut. This helps to cover the chipboard when you fold your corners- if you want a clean look this is what you must do!

Next, I embellished the cover page. I used the Doggone Cute- Shadowbox Insert kit.  I created a circle cluster on top of the vellum sheet and added foam adhesive for dimension. I love that you can see sprinkles paper through it !

Inside is where I have the most fun! I love adding layers to pages with die-cut pieces, pages, and envelopes.  Make it playful! The 6” X6” Candy Stripe- Sprinkles Petite Prints were perfect to create pages since the album is a mini!  The first page of the album is an envelope. I scored at 4” and 5.5” leaving a flap to add a pocket in the back.  Inside the middle, I added three pages- the first one measures a 4” by 6” scored in the middle at 1/4 inch- Added an adorable green tab. The next page measures 5 6/8” by 7 scored at 2 6/8” and 3”. The third page is 4” by 4 7/8” score 1/8” at one end to glued as a page. On the back cover page, I added a card. That’s it, my friends! I think this mini is great to document our Fur babies or give to someone that has a fur baby to add the perfect memories! Love always, Conny!

PETITE PRINTS KITTY TAG ALBUM | with Jen

I just love the new Petite Prints and I thought what better way to make the most of them than with a tag album! And what better subject than my sweet velcro-kitty Gus-Gus!

I made a very simple tag album out of heavy acetate. The tag bases are 4"x6". I made a template to get the angled tops and the hole exact on all of them.  I used the Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid Polka Dot Petite Prints as my page bases.

When you mat acetate you can see through to the back of the paper on each side! It makes for a fun way to add pops of color with very little paper.

It's also a great way to use up leftover Odds and Ends and Bits and Pieces or other embellishments.

Below I have a short process video on how to mat the acetate so your adhesive doesn't show.

Have a great day!

PETITE PRINTS AND PUPPIES | With Traci

Hello my crafty friends! Traci here and today, I'm sharing four 8x8 layouts that I made using the brand new Petite Prints and embellishments from the Doggone Cute Collection. I have many Storybook albums that I love to add pages to periodically. Recently, I took new photos of my son, daughter-in-law, and their sweet pup, so ... it's time for some cute pet pages!

I'm having so much fun with the Plaid-Polka Dot & Candy Stripe-Sprinkles Petite Prints. They go with everything! For these layouts, I chose the blue jean, ladybug, bumblebee, and limeade colors.

For interest, I like to mix up the page protectors in my albums and this one has a great spot at the top for a title. I used the playful polka dot as the background, then added pieces from the Chit Chat and Odds & Ends.

Here, I created a grid of cuteness! I layered the four different petite prints with lots of embellies. I added the Alphabet Soup puffy letter stickers in limeade to match the cute little pocket, then tucked 2 tags inside it from the Bits & Pieces. Don't you love that everything Doodlebug is made within their specific color palette? From paper, stickers, die cuts, twine, and even washi tape!

And speaking of which ... I created a grid on this next layout using the red and white Mini Dot Washi Tape. It goes perfectly with the red polka dot print on the other pages. I added a little scene at the bottom with die cut pieces and enamel sprinkles. I just love the hydrant, the tuft of grass, and the heart over the door. Cute detail!

For this last page, I made one large photo mat and I backed it with 3 rows of polka dots for a touch of pattern and color. The paw print piece is from the Chit Chat and I added a few enamel dots to it for fun.

Here's a peek at my Storybook Album. I love the 8x8 size but it also comes in 12x12. If you haven't had a chance to play with the new Petite Prints yet, I highly recommend them! The rainbow assortment pack includes 24 different colors and each sheet is double-sided. If you love scrapping as much as I do ... you'll use them all the time! 😉

PETITE PRINTS CAMERA MINI ALBUM | with Erica

Hello friends! Erica here and I am back with another project using the new Candy Stripe-Sprinkles and Plaid-Polka Dot Petite Prints!

I used both the 12x12 and 6x6 Petite Prints to create a super cute camera mini album! The base and inside pages were cut with a steel die from my stash! This die is adorable and is from Elizabeth Crafts.

Once the base and inside pages were cut it was time to put everything together and add lots of embellishments!

I created pockets with most of the pages to add even more photo mats and places to tuck in tags or journaling. I went with some pink binder rings to bind it all together and I just love how it turned out! It is so chunky and I love all the floral bits and ephemera that hang over the edges!

I added some tabs to some of the photo mats in the pockets so you can easily pull them out. On each tab I adhered different word stickers from the Over the Rainbow Collection.

Head on over to my YouTube channel for a quick walk through video of this adorable camera mini album using the new Petite Prints!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

PETITE PRINTS BIRTHDAY TREAT BOXES | with Karen

March to July in my family is what I call "birthday season". Almost everyone in my family celebrates birthdays during this time. So between birthday planning, baking and crafting, it's high season! So I am always happy to have Doodlebug products around to help me get the job done.

All-three-1

One of our birthday traditions is to make small party favours for our guests (and then I usually forget to give them away at the end of the party - true story). I usually try to match the theme that is chosen for the party, so products like Doodlebug's Petite Prints are perfect because you can mix and match them to coordinate with just about anything. For one of our July birthdays, I made these little treat containers to match a floral/bunny theme.

  Closeup-1

I was able to select some of the more neutral tones from the collection to for the container and wrap. I then created some flowers from the Hello Fall Doodle Die cuts and added a rabbit that was cut from a Cricut cut file. Simple, but pretty cute! Here's how you can create the treat container: Cut your paper to 6"x7".

Tutorial-1

With the 7" side along the top of your scoring tool, score at the 1", 3", 4" and 6" marks.

  Tutorial-3

Turn your paper 90 degrees. Score that the 1" and 5" marks. Using a pail of scissors, snip in on each score mark up to the 1" and 5" lines you just created. These will create the sides of your container.

  Tutorial-4

Fold all of your score lines. Using adhesive, add glue to the tabs shown in the photo. It doesn't matter which end of the paper you start on - just add glue to the end small tab and then the middle small tab on the back side of each. Repeat on the opposite side.

  Tutorial-5

Fold these small tabs up and against the longer tab right beside it. This will form the bottom of your container.

  Tutorial-6

To create the lid, add adhesive to the remaining 2 small tabs. Tuck those in and up against the longer tab right beside them to form the side.

  Tutorial-7

Your container should be in this shape.

  Tutorial-8

Fold the lid down over the bottom of the box and you are all set.

  Open-box

Have fun filling them with your favourite treats and embellishing away!

  All-three-2

Well, birthday season is almost over here, but hopefully these little containers help you with yours! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,
