SCHOOL DAYS MINI SHAKER NOTEBOOKS | with Stephanie

Hello Doodlebug friends!  Stephanie here, and today I’m sharing some mini shaker notebooks I made using the School Days Collection.

I found a pack of blank kraft notebooks on Amazon that are 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" - the exact size of an A2 card.  I chose a few 12 by 12 papers and trimmed them down to 8 1/2” by 5 1/2” and adhered them to the front cover with a strong double sided tape.  Next, I cut my apple and star shakers using shaped dies, solid color petite prints, foam and acetate and glued them to the front of the notebooks.  Of course you need  some sequins and seed beads or other toppings for the inside of the shaker!

I used one of the All Occasion Doodle Cuts Large tag dies and black Sunshine alphabet stickers for the top title.

Next, I decorated the inside cover and first page of each book using paper from the 6x6 pad, some This and That stickers and Odds and Ends die cuts.

That’s all there is to it. You can definitely create your own notebooks with kraft cardstock and white printer paper and a stapler without too much trouble, I just had the notebooks on hand ready to decorate and embellish.  Of course these have a school theme, but use whatever collections you have and make a notebook to throw in your bag or backpack or kitchen drawer for notes or shopping lists or whatever!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL LAYOUT | with Tegan

I am in love with the new Doodlebug Design Sunshine Alphabet and Sprinkles Shape Stickers! I used both along with the School Days collection to create my main design on this layout and I am really happy with how it turned out. Come take a look!

I embellished the top of the page with a strip of the rainbow striped School Days Very Primary patterned paper, ephemera piece, and Mini Icons Stickers. I also added a couple of the Bubblegum Shape Sprinkles Stickers.

I started by using the Doodlebug Sun - Happy Camper Cut File and the Party Time Sprinkle Me Happy patterned paper to create the large sun background. I then cut out the inner sun piece using the Hey Cupcake Hip Hip Hooray patterned paper. Here I embellished around the sun with the awesome Sunshine Alphabet Stickers in Black, Bubblegum, and Blue Jean. I then filled the spaces in between the words with Confetti Shape Sprinkles Stickers in Blue Jean, Bon Bon, and Bubblegum.

Here I used the Sunshine Alphabet Stickers in Ladybug, Blue Jean, Bon Bon, and Swimming Pool. I then embellished the spaces between the words with Shape Sprinkles Stickers in Bubblegum, White Lily, and Cupcake. I love the little three dimensional detail the Shape Sprinkles add! I embellished my photos with Odds & Ends die cut pieces.

I love that the Sunshine Alphabet Stickers and the Confetti Shape Sprinkles Stickers come in ALL of the fun Doodlebug Design colors. This makes it so easy to mix and match colors and add color to a project! Which is your favorite Doodlebug color?!

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope I have inspired you to grab some of the awesome Sunshine Alphabet Stickers and Sprinkles Shapes Stickers for your next project. Have a great day!

SCHOOL DAYS LAYOUT | with Maryám

Looking for some ideas on how to document those days staying at home? Today I'll be sharing a fun layout I created to document the "school at home" situation during the quarantine using the School Days Collection.
To create my layout, I started by making some school supplies out of paper. I made two pencils and one paintbrush using Doodlebug's textured and Sugar Coated cardstock. I drew and cut each one of the pieces to build the elements I mentioned before, then put them together and adhered them to a sheet white cardstock. Next with the help of my Craft Pick, I punched holes around the elements and added hand-stitching with color coordinating thread.
Once I finished making the handmade school supplies, I pulled out all the embellishments from the School Days collection and put them over my desk. Then I selected the ones that coordinated with my photo and the story I wanted to tell and saved the rest for a future project. Next, I positioned the embellishments and the two pencils and paintbrush creating and "L" shape design.
Following this, I put my photo, title, and journaling at the top right side of the page. For the title, I used the word "school" from the Chit ChatTM Set and added "at home" with the Teensy Type Beetle Cardstock Stickers in black.

Last but not least, I added some shape sprinklesTM from the School Days collection around the page as well as some word stickers from the This&That 12 x 12 sticker sheet.

Now let's take a look at the finished layout.

That is it for today! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and liked the ideas I shared. Also, don’t forget that if you have any questions just leave a comment below or send me an email.

Have a super awesome day!

DIY COLORING CLIPBOARDS | Maryám

During these crazy uncertain times, our lives are changing in ways we would never imagine and our reality is now a different one. Since most of us are staying at home right now, I thought it would be fun to share some simple DIY coloring clipboards to make with the kids.
I was inspired by the Doodlebug clipartTM line of clipboards to create mine. I started by cutting a piece of 2mm recycled chipboard sheet to about 4" x 5" inches. Next, I choose some pattern paper from my Doodlebug 6 x 6 paper pads and wrap the chipboard piece. I used liquid adhesive for this step.
Once I covered the entire piece of chipboard, I punched two holes on the top part with a distance of about 1.75" inches from each other and put an eyelet to protect them.
After that, I needed to make the coloring pages. To do this, I cut a 12" x 12" sheet of white cardstock in pieces of 3" x 4" inches, rounded the bottom corners, grabbed a bunch of my Doodle StampsTM and stamped different images.

Each clipboard has ten pages. For some, I stamped little scenes and for some others, I just stamped one image so the kids can have fun creating their own scenes.
Following this, I punch holes at top of the coloring pages as well and used Doodlebug chunkybradsTM to keep them in place. In the end, I embellish each clipboard with some washi tape and stickers to give it more fun and interest.
Now, it is your turn to create coloring clipboards and spread some joy! Personally, I'll get my clipboards ready and will send them to my little cousins so they can have some fun coloring during the quarantine.

I hope you guys enjoyed this new project and liked the ideas I shared. Also, don’t forget that if you have any questions you can always leave a comment below and I’ll be happy to help you.

Have a wonderful day!

School Days Flip Frame Mini Album | with Tya

Hello and welcome! I am still on my Mini Album kick- I hope you all don't mind me sharing yet another album with you! The School Days collection is just TOO much fun! I can't stop! So this time around, I kept things a little more simple and chose to do one of my favorite types of mini albums. These flip frame albums using the awesome Tolsby frames from Ikea are so handy! I love keeping these albums just out on my shelves for people to enjoy! I chose to do a little album documenting kindergarten through sixth grade. This is meant to add a small photo from each of the school years. Imagine how fun it will be to look back on how quickly your kids grow up over the years! The base pages of the album measure 3 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches.  Here are the close-ups of my album:

This page has a flap that lifts up. I added the dot paper with a piece of washi tape so  it will flip up like:

This! Washi tape is great for adding flaps to your album pages!

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope I have inspired you to pick up this super fun School Days collection and create a mini-album of your own! They are pretty quick to put together and great if you have more than one child, you can make each child their own little flip frame album for them to enjoy! Happy Crafting everyone!

SCHOOL DAYS LAYOUT | with Tegan

When I first saw the Doodlebug Design Hot Air Balloon Ride cut file, I couldn't wait to use it! I used the Doodlebug Design Citrus and Sunflower cardstock and I Heart Travel collection to cut out and design the hot air balloons. I started to create a travel layout with them, but then I thought they would be so cute on a layout of my niece's first big day of kindergarten! I LOVE that all of the Doodlebug Design collections mix and match so easily and so my hot air balloons coordinate perfectly with the School Days collection!
I adore the School Days Playground Plaid (blue star) patterned paper I used as my main background. It is the perfect shade of royal blue and I love how the Citrus and Sunflower color hot air balloons pop against the blue background. I embellished the top photo with School Days Chit Chat pieces, Odds & Ends pieces, and Mini Icons Stickers. And the You're A Star Sprinkles add the perfect finishing touch, don't you think?
I used the 'LOVE THIS' die cut piece from the I Heart Travel Chit Chat pack for the title on the yellow hot air balloon. I love how the round yellow and green I Heart Travel Sprinkles Shapes add a fun finishing touch to the balloons!
I embellished my second photo with Mini Icons Stickers, Star Sprinkles Shapes, Odds & Ends pieces, and a piece of the adorable Apple A Day Washi Tape. I anchored all of this with a piece of the Good Measure (ruler) patterned paper. And how cute is the journaling on the lined paper Odds & Ends piece?!?
Thank you for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to grab the new Doodlebug Design Hot Air Balloon Ride cut file and the School Days and I Heart Travel collections to create a fun back to school page!

SCHOOL DAYS LAYOUT | with Erica

I have been working my way through all my back to school photos and so glad I have the Doodlebug collection to help me document these moments! One other thing that is helping me get my layouts done is the amazing cut files Doodlebug has to offer! You can get the cut files at; Silhouette Design Store or at Lori Whitlock! If you have never used a title cut file like this I hope this layout inspires you to try it! It is a great starting point and cut files help break me from a creative slump!
I backed the star student & star border cut file using the 6x6 School Days paper pad. I love that the images are scaled down and they work perfectly to back the files. I printed two photos I took of our soon Gavin on the first day of school. I matted the photos on A is For Apple paper to add a little red behind the photos.
I popped up the cut file on a piece of white textured cardstock and then adhered the star border right below the title using some wet glue. I pulled out all the School Days embellishments and found some cute star stickers to add around the title cut file. I also used two of the School Days doodle pops on this layout! I tucked in some School Days stickers around the photo and added a couple tabs! I sprinkled a few tiny enamel hearts around the page as well to bring in some more stars! To finish up my page I added a strip of jounaling using my We R Memory Keepers typewriter. Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great day!

SCHOOL DAYS CUT FILE BOX CARD | with Kathy

Have you seen the new School Days Cut Files?  They are just adorable!  There are so many designs in the collection, each one is cuter than the next and they cover so many aspects of school life!  I decided to make a little box card for teacher using the Teacher Jar file.

I pieced it together using papers from the School Days and Petite Prints Collections.  For finishing touches I added some glitter sprinkles for the cheeks and a banner from the School Days Chit Chat pieces.  This would look so cute on a teacher's desk!  If you make something using the School Days Cut Files, be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram.  We would love to see what you create!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
