HOMETOWN USA WREATH LAYOUT | with Erica

What is one design that you can do over and over again on your scrapbook pages? For me it is a wreath design or large circular element in the center! Today I have a fun layout using the Hometown USA collection to share with you.

I am using some Lily White Textured Cardstock for my base and I have trimmed it down to 11.50" square. Next I layered a piece of solid cardstock and a 12x12 pattern paper from the Hometown USA collection.

I used a large circle template to draw a circle in the middle of the layout base and then began to adhere some of the large acetate fireworks from the Bits & Pieces pack.

Next I added a second and third layer of fireworks using more acetate, Icon stickers and Odds & Ends. I used foam adhesive to adhere them down to give them a lot of dimension.

After all the layers were down I went in with smaller elements from the Hometown USA collection like puffy icon stickers, sprinkles and mini icon stickers. I matted my photos on some pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered to the layout.

I created a smaller cluster of embellishments above the photos and added one of the Chit Chat pieces for my title below the photos!

I just love how it turned out and how easy it was to create the wreath! There are so many little elements around the wreath giving it so much dimension and interest! Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

HOMETOWN USA FIREWORKS LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today and I've got another layout using the Hometown USA collection. There are a lot of fireworks pieces in this collection so I thought it would be fun to document some photos of my boys setting off some a few years ago. Here's my page:

To start, I pulled out the Summer Celebration 12x12 paper and used it as a base. I took the Polka-Dot Pride 12x12 paper and trimmed it down to a 9x12. Next, I layered a piece of the white cardstock from the 12x12 Textured Cardstock Assortment that I trimmed down to a 6x12 right on top of it. I was able to display some pretty patterned papers and also have the pretty white to make my photos and embellishments pop.

I love large ephemera pieces but sometimes I have a hard time incorporating them into my layouts. I kept this in mind when I was putting my page together and made sure to leave space for this adorable plane from the Odds & Ends pack. It fit perfectly!

I matted my photos using the 6x6 Paper Pad and centered them on my page. I then adhered the fireworks stickers from the Freedom Fireworks Shaker-Pops on each side. For my title, I chose the 'Fireworks' phrase from the Chit Chat pack and centered in between my two photos. I love the font of this phrase, it's so fun!

To continue along with the fireworks theme, I pulled out a bunch of fireworks from both the Odds & Ends and Bits & Pieces packs. I popped them all up with foam tape and arranged them around my page. I also chose another phrase piece from the Chit Chat pack and centered it at the top of my photos.

The fireworks pieces really add additional pops of color throughout my design. For some finishing touches, I adhered some stars in some clusters and added in some tangled thread and silver paint splatters.

Here's one last look at this fun patriotic page:

HOMETOWN USA SUMMER FAMILY FUN LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here and I have another layout using the super adorable Hometown USA collection. We are missing our pool back in Louisiana right about now so I thought it would be fun to document some photos of me and pups celebrating July 4th by playing in the pool most of the day. Hopefully we will be back in it one day. This collection is perfect for your summer photos!! Here's my layout:

To start, I took two of the Red, White & Blue 12x12 patterned papers and set aside one (star side) for my base. I then took the other paper and trimmed out a 3x12 strip of the diagonal side. I also pulled out the Land Of The Free 12x12 paper and trimmed out a 2x12 strip of the red heart side. I then layered the two strips together and adhered it to the left side of the star paper. Those patterns go so well together.

Next, I pulled out the three tags from the Bits & Pieces pack and decided to make a shaker in one of them. I pulled out a square paper punch from my stash and punched it right in the center of the blue tag. I then adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the tag, adhered some foam tape around the square and poured in the Land That I Love Shakers. This mix is ADORABLE!! I sealed my shaker using a piece of vellum and attached the Blue Jeans twine to all three tags. I popped them all up on foam tape and adhered them along the side of the patterned papers.

Next, I matted my photos using the 6x6 Paper Pad and adhered my three photos to the tags. Look at my sweet Luna girl. She's smiling in this photo!

I used a phrase from the Chit Chat pack for my title and popped it up on foam tape. It needed a little more embellishing around it so I added a few more pieces from that pack and then also added in that sweet little girl and animals from the Odds & Ends pack. It was a perfect addition on top of that cute title. I love how it pops!

I embellished around the tags using more Odds & Ends, Icons Stickers as well as some of the Puffy Icons Stickers.

HOMETOWN USA THREE CHEERS FOR THE RED, WHITE & BLUE LAYOUT | with Tarrah

What do you do when you don't live in the US or celebrate 4th of July but have the gorgeous Hometown USA collection to create with? You improvise and find something else to document instead!  As it turns out, my Dad's favourite football team here in Australia have the colours of red, white and blue so the Hometown USA collection was perfect to document a photo of him and I at one of their games recently!

To begin, I chose my photo and then chose elements from all of the die-cut and sticker packs that would suit the theme of my layout. I then chose a free cut file from Paper Issues and cut it out from white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo machine.

I chose the various papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad and backed the diagonal 'burst' spaces with the papers using regular adhesive. I trimmed the white cardstock so that I could back the page onto red cardstock. I used craft foam to back the white cardstock against the red so that the layout looked to have some depth. To back the stars, I chose more papers from the 6' x 6' paper pad however this time I simply adhered them to the red cardstock making sure that the star would be filled.

Below is an example of how the stars look. They have more depth as there is a shadow created from the craft foam and dimension that this creates.

I used the silver Alphabet Soup puffy stickers to add the name of the football team and embellished my layout with Chit Chat die-cuts, Bits and Pieces die-cuts, Odds and Ends and This and That stickers. I absolutely love the acetate firework die-cuts! Lastly I stamped the date stamp of when the photo was taken and my layout was finished. I love how my layout turned out and remember even if you don't celebrate a specific holiday, you can always make a collection work with a different theme!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

HOMETOWN USA HAPPY 4TH OF JULY LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share my first layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection!

I started with a cut file that I cut out on some Lily White Textured Cardstock. I backed the file with Hometown USA 12x12 & 6x6 papers and the adorable Festive Fireworks 12x12 Acetate! The Festive Fireworks Acetate was the perfect finishing piece to the cut file.

I trimmed down some Lily White Cardstock to 11.25" x 11.25" and then added some silver mist to the cardstock. Once the mist was dry I adhered the cut file down with some foam adhesive and then matted the trimmed cardstock base to some pattern papers from Hometown USA.

Next I matted my 3 photos onto some pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered down to the layout.

Then I pulled out all the Hometown USA embellishments and added odds & ends and cardstock stickers around the layout. I love the firework odds & ends so added a lot of them around the page. To finish off the layout I added some Doodlebug Design sprinkles around the page.

Here is a look at my completed 12x12 layout using the Doodlebug Design Hometown USA collection! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!

HOMETOWN USA JULY 4th LAYOUT | with Brianna

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today and I get to share a new layout with y'all today using the new Hometown USA collection. Our veterinary office had setup a little 4th of July display to take photos in front of and we couldn't resist a little photoshoot with our dog Cubby. These were perfect for this collection, especially since there's a dog (and cat!) featured throughout the embellishments. Here's my page:

When I first got the collection, I went through it to see what immediately inspired me. It's always different each time and for this round, I was drawn to the coordinating Texture Cardstock pack. I pulled the white, blue and red out and thought it would be nice to create some mattes using each one. I trimmed the blue to an 11x11 and then the white to a 10x10. I distressed the edges and adhered both down to the red. This created a nice bold foundation for the rest of my layout.

For some extra color and a bit of mixed media, I added in some ink blending using the Lumberjack Plaid and Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide inks. I then trimmed down a few strips of the Picnic Plaid and All Stars 12x12 Patterned Paper. I used both of the A and B sides of the All Stars paper. I distressed the edges and adhered the layers right in the center of my page.

For my title, I used a few pieces from the Chit Chat Pack and popped them up on foam tape. I then pulled out the Patriotic Puppy Doodle-Pop and adhered it right next to it. It's so cute!!!

I put my photos right in the middle of the page on top of the patterned papers and then embellished around it in a diagonal line. Next, I pulled out the fireworks circle pieces from the Chit Chat Pack and adhered them along that same line. I also pulled out a few elements from the Bits & Pieces Pack as well as a few of the Cardstock Icons Stickers and adhered those down. That truck pulling the kids? Adorable!!!

For some finishing touches, I sprinkled in a few of the Puffy Icons stickers and some of the Star Spangled Shape Sprinkles. This page makes me so happy!

Here's one last look at this super patriotic page featuring my adorable puppy dog!

HAPPY HEALING EMERGENCY VISIT LAYOUT | with Nathalie

We all have experienced those unfortunate events when one of your loved ones had to make a visit to the ER (Emergency Room). Sometimes they are small health issues, and some times they require extra care. Regardless of the hospital stay, it is always nice to have a way to document those moments, and the new Happy Healing collection is just perfect for it. I am so glad that I had the collection at hand to document my young cousins appendectomy emergency surgery.

I started with the On The Mend paper for the background on the page. Then added two left over pieces from the Happy Healing paper to the left and right of the page. I then trimmed a 6x6 paper in half and tuck it under the larger strips. Next, I attached one of the sticker borders to the inside edge of the larger strips.

I placed the photos on the center of the page, then it was all about adding embellishments to bring the story to life.

There are so many cute embellishments in this collection, it was easy to mix and match a few of them in clusters around the page. I made sure that the small red cross repeated in each of the clusters as a way to tie the page together.

To finish my page, I used pieces of Chit Chat to create the title for this page. I added a few hear embellishments to the title. Then glued a few silver sprinkles to each of the clusters.

I love how this turned out, and I hope it gives you inspiration for a project of your own featuring the beautiful Happy Healing collection.  XO
