Doodlebug Patriotic Parade Simply Put Pocket Style Layout

by Tya Smith

Hi everyone - Tya here, sharing with you this fun and festive Patriotic Parade layout featuring the darling Simply Put Stars and Stripes 4x6 cards and the awesome pocket style page protectors from Doodlebug Design! I have a confession - The 4th of July  is my absolute favorite holiday! Because of that I usually end up taking oodles of photos on this holiday documenting every parade, flag and firework- so these nifty pocket style protectors and the 4x6 cards make scrapbooking these type of events quick and easy!

I am always on the lookout for an awesome brush script font - I used Cheddar Jack font from dafont.com. I love this one- Definitely a keeper!
Here is the pocket page-- this protector type is one of my favorites- I love the mix of vertical and horizontal photos , plus the 2 x 12 inch space on the side was perfect to highlight the darling star garland that is one of the newer products that Doodlebug came out with this year!

Here are the close ups of the pocket page elements- I used lots of different embellishments such as Stars and Stripes Jewels, Red, White and Blue mini pearls, Firecracker Doodlepops, Silver sprinkles, Red, White and Blue star sprinkles, and Ladybug hearts sprinkles.

Thanks for stopping by and remember when scrapbooking events that include lots of photos - reach for one of the super useful Simply Put 4x6 paper pads, and your favorite pocket page protector, and you will have darling pages in no time! Happy crafting!

Springtime Collection: Teddy's Baby Album by Melinda + Giveaway

I promised myself that I was going to keep on top of Teddy's baby album with the best intentions... really I did! So, now that we have just celebrated his second birthday I feel I may have slightly overestimated my ability to 'keep on track'. Fortunately I haven't completely lost my memory yet, and also have lots of social media posts to use as a reference. Time to get some action happening!

When I first spotted the Springtime Collection I thought it was very 'pink' until I flipped the papers over and found lots of beautiful options perfect for a little boy's storybook. And the Simply Put 4x6 inserts are an ideal solution for those of us who want fun, unique designs that slip straight into the Storybook plastic pockets... great for when I'm lacking on design ideas and conscious of my time. And they come in pads of 18 double sided pages with both vertical and horizontal options for your designs... perfect!

Move over sequins... I have a new love! Epoxy Arrow Sprinkles! I can't get enough of these little embellishments and they are perfect use in the plastic album pockets because they are relatively flat with only a slight raised surface area.

Another positive for this style of memory keeping is Doodlebug's color palette... the colours never change so it doesn't matter what collection or embellishment you are using, everything will always match. And it's the best way to use up all your left over little bits and pieces from previous projects.

I hope the weather is warming up for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere as it seems that you've had a fairly long, cold winter. We have also had a long, dry and very hot Summer here in Australia so I'm thankful for the turn in the weather with the beginning of our Autumn.

I hope I have given you some ideas to inspire your scrapping... Melinda.
