SIMPLY SPRING HELLO NEW SMILE LAYOUT | with Erica

I have been waiting for the day to get my braces off and the day finally arrived!! I had to snap a photo of my new smile and create a layout to document it!

I pulled out some of the Doodlebug Design Simply Spring collection to create a bright and cheerful layout! I started by going through the die cut packs and pulling out all the flowers! I also pulled out some of the Garden flowers! I decided to go with a wreath design in the center of the page.

To add a little color to my background I used some inks.  Next I added my two photos that I matted on some patterned paper from the Simply Spring collection.

I started laying out the large Garden Flowers and popping them up with foam adhesive. I went around the wreath design with the next size flower and continued on until I got the look I wanted. I pulled out some different sprinkles to add around the wreath for some interest and texture.

To create my title I used one of the Simply Spring Chit Chat pieces and some of the Sunshine alpha stickers in Swimming Pool.

I just love how bright and colorful this layout turned out! I am super excited to finally have my braces off and show off my new smile! Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

SIMPLY SPRING CARDS | with Tya

Hi there! And welcome! I hope you are all staying happy and healthy during this crazy time in our lives. I am finding solace in being creative to pass the time!  Lots of time equals lots of cards I guess LOL! I have 8 cards up for you today using the adorable "Simply Spring" collection. With its bright happy colors and icons such as flowers, butterflies, birds, clouds and so much more... you will not be lacking any spring-themed elements to create oodles of cards!

Here are the eight cards I created up close for you to see! I used 12x12 pattern papers, the Chit Chat and Odds and Ends die cuts, Icon stickers and the This and That stickers and then lots of embellishments to decorate each card like twine, and Sprinkles.  Here they are:

Aren't they so much fun? Cards are a great way to use up all of the MANY die cuts that you get in our Odds and Ends and Chit Chat die cut packs. I like to make little scenes with the die cuts and then add little embellishments here and there to spice them up. I hope I have inspired you to create some cards of your own with this cute collection. I know lots of people could use a little "happy mail" right now so why not make a few cards and then send them out with a little heartfelt message to lift someone's spirits? That's what I plan on doing! Thanks again for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!

SIMPLY SPRING PROJECTS TO MAKE YOU SMILE | with Stephanie

There is so much to love in each Doodlebug Collection with all the different types of coordinating goodies to work with. From Washi tape to Doodle Pop dimensional stickers to Chit Chat phrases to Sprinkles enamel stickers, the possibilities are endless! Once I pulled out my Simply Spring collection and saw all the cute little bee stickers, images and sentiments I got right to work on my theme for today's project. And once I got started, I couldn't stop!
Up first is a card and tag using stickers as well as Odds and Ends and Chit Chat Die images and sentiments.

As I was flipping through the 6x6 paper pad, I found the adorable Bee Happy paper and knew there was a perfect way to use it!
I found this Bee Well Soon Tissue Wrap Box from Lori Whitlock at the Silhouette Design Store. It stores a small stack of mini size tissues!

I found 2 other boxes also from Lori Whitlock and the Silhouette store here and here to continue working with my bee theme.

This last box is so tiny!  I stamped thinking of you and added 2 bees from the Little Critters Shape Sprinkles stickers pack. I glued a flower and greenery to a mini white clothespin, tied some twine in a bow and clipped the flower over it to close the box.

I'll admit, maybe I did go a little Bumble Bee crazy, but they sure are cute aren't they? As I mentioned earlier the possibilities for embellishing cards, gifts, tags etc. are endless, so pull out those Simply Spring collections and start crafting!

SIMPLY SPRING HAPPY MAIL | with Nathalie

Did you know that April is National Letter Writing Month? Now more than ever, I believe sending (and receiving!) something in the mail can help us all feel more connected. Using mostly the Simply Spring collection, I am sharing a few things you can create to accompany a letter/note.

In a large homemade vellum envelope, I have included a small note decorated with a Doodle-pop, a couple flower Cute Clips, a sunny Doodle-pop with an embellished topper, a little pocket filled with goodies and two shaker tags/bookmarks. I wrapped everything with twine and made a tag out of a truck die-cut adding an enamel frog at the window and a sentiment with my new All Occasion stamps on top.

Here is a short video on how to make this little flat mail pocket. Once done, all you have to do is fill it up with goodies!

Next, I created a couple of shaker banner tags/bookmarks with page protector scraps that I cut, fused and filled with die-cuts, sequins and glitter. I also added word stickers and shape sprinkles on top and, ribbon in the corner.

You can find the link (by Inkie Quill) that inspired me: HERE

Finally, here is a look at the entire package as I open it:

I hope that you now feel the urge to create something extra special to send to a friend or family member. Grab your Doodlebug favorites and make something to brighten their day!

SIMPLY SPRING LAYOUT | with Erica

Do you struggle using a lot of different patterns and colors on a layout? Today I want to share an easy way to do this using a background cut file and a Doodlebug Design 6x6 paper pad. I cut the; Love Notes cut file that is available in the Lori Whitlock shop HERE;. I used white cardstock so that my different pattern papers really stand out. This file was really easy to back since the hearts are the same size. Hearts are always easy to trace and cut to back cut files. I used as many patterns as I could from the Simply Spring 6x6 paper pad. I knew I wanted to scrap two recent photos of my boys enjoying the weather put that did not stop me from using the more girly patterns. I have no problem using flowers and the color pink to document photos of my boys. I also printed my photos out in black and white. This also helps to let the colors in your papers stand out especially if the colors in the photos do not match you layout. I used A Color Story app on my photo to turn them black and white and the Pic Frame app to put them into a grid where the photos end up about 2x2. Once the cut file was backed I matted on a piece of 12x12 pattern paper from the Simply Spring collection. I made sure that when I cut out my file it was just under 12x12 so that I could mat it with some pretty papers. This helps to frame the layout and look more complete. I added the title from the Simply Spring chit chat pieces and then embellished with Simply Spring odds & ends and the 12x12 sticker sheet. Here is a look at my completed layout. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you will stop by the Lori Whitlock shop and check out all the Doodlebug Design cut files.
Have a great day!

SIMPLY SPRING MINI TRAVELERS | with Shellye

Whether you need an Easter basket stuffer or a fun craft for kids, these Simply Spring Mini Travelers are a breeze to put together!

For this duo, you will need: an 8X8 sheet protector (full sheet w/out pockets), round elastic cording, scrapbook papers and embellishments.  As far as "tools", I've used a sewing machine, but this is optional if you don't have one.

To get started, I trimmed away the edge of the page protector where the holes are located.  Next, I cut a sheet of patterned paper to 8X8 and inserted into the protector.

I cut the protector and paper (horizontally) and loaded the paper into each sleeve with the opening at the top.  One edge of the protector will be left unattached, so I solved this by adding an eyelet to hold the side closed:

Next, I scored a 1/2" spine into the paper/protector (scored at 3.75" and 4.25") and then folded several times to create nice creases.
I used my sewing machine to create a zig-zag stitching down the center of the spine.  This just helps to secure the protector, so you could hand-stitch, staple or use brads/eyelets if you don't have a machine.
You will also see (above) that I hole punched an 1/8" hole at the top and bottom of the spine and also at the center of the spine.  I tied through a piece of round elastic through the spine and knotted inside.  For the closure, I knotted a small piece of elastic and slipped through the middle hole (with the knot on the inside).

Now onto the pages!  I cut six strips of double-sided paper to 6.75" X 3.5", layered them all together (one on top of the other) and inserted them through the elastic:

For the embellishing, I simply used a 2.5"square die to cut mats and then added them with foam tape.  I also included some of the small stickers and sprinkles!
This recipe is for one of the mini travelers, so just repeat the process for other mini.
I added a ball chain through the eyelet at the back and loaded it with a cute tag, shaped clips and then tied on a bow!  So perfect for an Easter basket stuffer or add photos and give as a brag book to grandma!

Thanks for joining me today!

TAGS & TREAT BOXES PERFECT FOR EASTER | with Stephanie

Today I am sharing tags and treat boxes featuring the cute Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamp images and 6x6 paper from Simply Spring and Hoppy Easter.  To add a little extra interest and dimension I attached mini action wobbles to the bunnies to make them wiggle.

First I stamped and die cut an assortment of bunnies, baskets, carrots, colored eggs and grass, and colored them. I die cut some gift tags and arranged little grassy scenes with the bunnies front and center.

I tied some ribbon and twine to the top of the tags.

Here's a peek at the action wobble behind the bunny.

I die cut 2 treat boxes an arranged and adhered similar scenes to the front of the boxes.

To finish I put some pastel paper shred and some Easter candy inside my boxes.

These adorable little bunnies make me smile, I hope they bring a little smile to you too!  Thanks for stopping by today!
