Sizzix + Doodlebug Birthday Projects by Wendy

Hi Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing my Sizzix projects with you!  I was excited to have the opportunity to use the tiny flowers embossing folder along with the flower layers and leaf die. Combined with products from the "Sugar Shoppe" collection, I whipped up a batch of birthday girl projects!

My project set includes two A2 sized cards, a small square card, and a quick little tag to add to a gift!

My first card (above) features the smaller of the two flowers included on the die.  I just love the whimsical look of the big, slightly odd shaped, flower center circle.  I also used the leaf die, and left the middle part empty.  I love the negative space here!  Of course, I just had to use the embossing folder for the background.

I loved the embossed flower background on the gray patterned paper so much that I opted to use it again for my second card.  I used all of the die pieces to create this over-sized flower - plus I added a little yellow doodle-pop flower to the center.   I know the leaves aren't a natural color...but aren't they super cute?!?

On this little mini card I used the larger flower to back the scallop circle sticker.  And I used the embossing folder, the opposite side, to create a debossed background!  Of course, sprinkles and a little bit of doodle twine are the finishing touches to this one!

And finally, I used the leaf die to create this uber colorful leaves to this fun tag.  I love swapping out the center piece for a fun coordinating color!

Thanks so much for stopping by today...and happy creating to you!

Lattice Scored Card Technique and Sequins

Hi there Doodlebug Fans- It's Tya here to share with you my project featuring our yummy Sequins! I love using sequins when I want to add a little bling and texture to my projects. I wanted to share with you this lattice scored card technique that I think highlights just how fun the sequins can be when you add them to this type of card. It is super simple and adds a fun touch to an otherwise ordinary card  front.
Let me share with you how to do the lattice design on the cards:
I used a 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of card stock on my projects. I used my Scor- Buddy to make the scored lines. Starting on the top right corner of the paper, I lined the cardstock up on the diagonal and scored every inch
. Now, take the paper and line up the top left corner and again score every 1 inch.
I then added the sequins to the intersecting scored lines.

Here are the cards- I used the Sugar Shoppe and Hip Hip Hooray lines to make these cards.

Thanks so much for joining me and go try this technique on your next card if you want to add a little extra "bling"- with the different styles of sequins in each bottle from opaque to metallic - you are sure to find just the right sequin to use! Happy Crafting!

Sugar Shoppe: Sweet Baby Blog Gift Idea

Hello! I hope you are having a sweet day! ;) Court from Court's Crafts here with a sweet baby block gift to give to someone or use yourself! Sugar Shoppe!!!! Love love this line. It has the popular minty-blue color, the fabulous peach color and some pink of course. It just screams sorbet! :)

As most of you know, I just had a baby and it is super popular to take "as they grow" pictures. Some people will take them with a sticker on a onesie that says "one month" or "two months". I like the idea but the sticker-ed onesie wasn't really my thing... So I came up with this!

I decided to make a side with days, weeks, months, and years so I could use them for a while and for Emmaline as well as Charlotte. :)

I dressed up the blocks with some stickers, but I didn't want to take the focus off the numbers

I also put the two flower doily tiles one the sides.

I love love love Doodlebug color coordination - this line works perfectly with several of the alpha colors, but I liked the pink for the pop. So if you have some bubblegum colored Doodlebug alphas in your stash - they will match perfectly! :)

There are actually four blocks to get all of the numbers represented and to do double digits.

This would make such a fabulous baby shower gift or if you want to just do years with older children you could photograph them holding the blocks in front of them! Too cute! I hope I have inspired you a little today! Have a beautiful and Sugar Shoppe filled day! :)

Sugar Shoppe: Birthday Gift Tags

Hi Doodlebug Fans!  It's Mendi here and I'm thrilled to be sharing some Birthday Gift Tags with you today using Doodlebug's new Sugar Shoppe collection! I must confess that I've had this project on my "to do" list for a long time now... I'm super excited to have these on hand for upcoming kid's Birthday parties and for grabbing on the go!
To form my tag base I used Spellbinders Tags & Flags die by Page Maps which was the perfect fit for Doodlebug's new treat bags!  For my ice cream sprinkles I snipped small bits off from the pixies and topped my cone with an epoxy Sprinkle for the cherry.
I was able to re-purpose several of the the circular tags from the Sugar Shoppe Pixies set to add a bit of embellishment to several of my gift tags.  I cut the tab off of one, used the backside of another and punched a third one into a simple circle.
To stamp the "to" and "from" on each of my tags, I used Lawn Fawn's Winter Gifts Tag stamp set (they also have a darling birthday specific one called Birthday Tags that I don't yet own).  ;)
To keep my design process quick, I stayed with a simple, repetitive theme for each of my tags.  I ran a 1-1/2" strip of paper through my die cutting machine a second time using a coordinating piece of paper to form the top of my tags.  I then diecut the top piece with a decorative edge using Spellbinders On The Edge dies (would also work well with border punches or decorative edge scissors).
For the majority of my tags I was able to work almost exclusively with the 6x6 paper pad (using the bigger pieces only for the occasional border).  As someone who has a small addiction to buying 6x6 paper pads I LOVE finding more great ways to use them.  ;)
I hope I've inspired you to play with Doodlebug's darling birthday collections and make some gift tags of your own.  They are super fun to create and come together quickly!   :)

Sugar Shoppe: Simply Put Pocket Page Layout

Hi everyone! Jodi here today to share with you some Simply Put pages that I have been working on using the Sugar Shoppe Collection.  The Simply Put cards make it so fun and easy to create fast and beautiful pages! I decided awhile back that I would start creating theme albums to help keep certain holidays and occasions together.  I have now started a few, but when the Sugar Shoppe Collection came out I knew that I wanted to document my oldest daughters Little Spa Birthday Party!  I created two double pages to add into her album.  Here is the first double page:

I used the 12 X 12 Storyteller pages, and started to add some patterned paper and simply put cards.  The best thing about these cards is you can leave them as is, since they are already SUPER cute, or you can add some embellishments too!  Here is the left side of the page:

On the horizontal Simply Put card in the middle, I added some Sprinkles on the same color dots, and added a little title too!  Do not be afraid of added some washi tape and stickers to your photos too for added detail!

Here is the right side of the page:

I used three Simply Put cards on this side! The calendar card, I added the date, but also decided that I should add an embellishment on top, so I added a sticker balloon from the icon sticker sheet  and added a twine string to it!

My next double page:

Some details from this page:

The Simply Put Card with the cupcakes could be used for journaling but I decided to spruce it up with some sticker cupcakes and of course a sequin for added sweetness! My favorite on this page was the way I used the treat bags! I sometimes have extra photos that I want to include but I do not have room for on my pages! The treat bags are an awesome addition to any storybook page as you can add as many extra photos as you wish:

Here is the right side of this page:

Lots of photos on here too!  I added more balloon stickers and added some stickers to my photos to finish it up!

I hope you enjoyed my storybook pages! They were so much fun to create and this collection is perfect for any little girl (or big girl) birthday!

Sugar Shoppe: Bright Birthday Card Trio by Wendy

Hello Doodlebug friends! It's Wendy Sue here today and I am so excited to share my latest card creations with you.  I am loving the pinks, teals, and oranges in the new Sugar Shoppe collection - they are soft and pretty, yet bold enough to really make a statement!  I used products from this new line to create a trio of card and envelope sets.
If you are a card-maker and you aren't using Doodlebug's "create-a-card" card bases and envelopes, you really should rethink it.  Seriously - the bases come in super cute shapes and sizes, with coordinating envelopes and all in fun doodlebug colors.  For reals - you need to check them out!

I used card bases and envelopes from the A2 polka-dot assortment pack.  The three colors I chose to work with coordinate beautifully with the Sugar Shoppe products.  Here's the first card I created:
I like embellishing the coordinating envelopes as well - I used one of the fun pixies, along with washi tape, stickers, patterned paper, and doodle twine on this one.

And here's card #2.  I turned this one on it's side and dangled a few of the pixie flags from doodle twine on the side.  I removed the bottom portion of the flag since I wasn't adding it to a pixie stick.

For the envelope, I simply used one of the cards from the "simply put" album insert pad.

And finally, this cute orange card.  I cut lots of strips from the 6x6 pad and placed them skeewhompus on the front of the card.  I added tabs from the border sticker sheet, some washi tape, and some mini tag stickers too.  I added the tag stickers with foam adhesive for just a bit of dimension.
And for this envelope, I simply cut a piece of patterned paper into a flag shape (I'll add the name of the recipient with letter stickers later) and a cute cupcake sticker!
Creating cards with Doodlebug products is always fun and easy, but when you start with a cute card base, your cards are automatically 99% cuter - guaranteed! ;)

Sugar Shoppe: Dress Shaped Cards

Hello Doodlebug lovers and welcome to another fun day of Sugar Shoppe projects! Aimee here today to share some pretty dress shaped cards made with this great girly collection!

I found  these great dress shaped card cuts on the Silhouette site and knew they would look absolutely beautiful with all of the fun & fabulous colors and patterns. Once I started making them I couldn't stop! Plus, it's great having these on hand when we are invited to girly birthday parties.

I also added a few of the other new Doodlebug items to help embellish these pretty little dresses. As you can see every one of the cards has a layer of the new vellum.

This one wasn't created with the Sugar Shoppe papers but I knew the chevron glitter cardstock would blend in beautifully!

This pretty little aqua blue striped dress has been adorned with a fabulous sequin waist.

This sweet little dress puts me in mind of a toddler. After I layered it with some vellum, I punch out little flowers from the vellum and adhered them on top.

So happy you stopped by today and hopefully you are inspired by all of the wonderful Sugar Shoppe projects you've seen!
