iNSD 2021 - 3D CAMERA PROJECT | with Jennifer

We always look forward to Jennifer Beason's projects because her ability to create 3D models from our paper is pure genius. And her cameras have been one of our favorite creations to date.

Jennifer was commissioned to make this darling camera using our Sweet Summer collection. Couldn't you just imagine having this in your craft room to brighten your day?

Jennifer's art pieces are so beautifully made as she covers wood cut to shape for each piece before assembling her final project. We love how she has used the border strips around the camera lense and added a tiny scene inside the lense using Sweet Summer Doodle-Pops, Sweet Summer Odds & Ends and sprinkles.

If you would like to view more of Jennifer's beautiful work then head on over to her Etsy page to see her amazing talents. HERE

IT'S NOT SUMMER WITHOUT FLIP FLOPS | with Jennifer

Hello, Doodlebug fans. Nothing says Summer like a fun new pair of Flip Flops, right. :)
Well for this colorful pair I used patterned papers from the Sweet Summer collection, along with some Petite Prints.

Doodlebug cutting files were used for the cherries. They originally had smiley faces on them, but for this project, I decided to leave them off.  Die-cut citrus slices and a few sprinkles were also used on the top of each flip flop.

Another cutting file was used for the labels and some hand stitching was used throughout to add some texture.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting!

SWEET SUMMER MICRO NOTES & PLANNER PAGES | with Jomelle

What's not to love about Doodlebug Sweet Summer Collection? Everything about this screams Doodlebug. Today I want to share with you my July Monthly layout. I've used mostly stickers to decorate this page. You can never go wrong with using any stickers from this collection.
I always like to use the large sticker on the top left and bottom right of my layout. Anything in between is fair game.
This layout was super fast and super easy to make just by adding stickers and washi tapes, and voila you have a fun layout.

There's been a craze about micro notes in the planner community that I decided to create my own fun cover.
It is the sweet life indeed with this micro notes. I love how the colorful rings goes well with this collection and I'm sure it goes well with any Doodlebug products.
Sweet Summer Collection is perfect for my summer layout. So what are you waiting for? Join the fun and use your stash and start creating.

PLANNER INSERTS FOR EVERY SEASON | with Anabelle

One of the things I love to do is to decorate my Daily Doodles for each season. While the notebook inserts are super cute the way they are, I love to create little covers for them to tie the whole theme together. Today, I'm going to share how I decorated my summer covers using the Sweet Summer collection. This is last year's summer line and I still absolutely adore it. I love how the little inserts came together. Here is how they look.
To do this, I cut the patterned paper the same height as my insert and about an inch longer that the width of the insert. I placed the notebook inside the insert and folded down the edges so that it would stay put. You could add some adhesive, but I don't because I like my covers to be easily swapped out!
Then, the fun part begins. I love adding stickers, Odds and Ends and other goodies to my book covers.
On this one, I added a doily. I layered some of the stickers and Odds and Ends onto the cover. I used some foam adhesive on some of the elements to add texture. Additionally, I love adhering trim to the sides of my covers. It makes the whole TN look so finished, in my opinion.
This cover was ice cream themed! The main focus is the journaling card that I cut from the paper set. I added some Sprinkles, stickers and Odds and Ends, once again. Isn't that rainbow striped 'Happy' phrase so cute?
For this last one, I went with a tropical theme! I love the little seagull and seeing him perched on the beach chair, he looks adorable! The phrase is from the chit chat pack and I couldn't help but add that adorable Doodlepop drink sticker! So, the next time you decide to decorate your Daily Doodle notebook, create these fun covers. They really help bring the whole look together.

SUMMER ACCORDION MINI ALBUM | with Virginia

Sunny Summer days are almost here, yay! Here's a quick little accordion mini-album that I put together using the Sweet Summer collection.

I made the base of the mini-album using the traditional tri-fold accordion template and added a little twist by creating a few flip pages.  Here are the steps to create the base of this one-sheet mini-album.

1. Start with a 12x12 sheet of paper. Score vertically in half at the 6" mark. Rotate 90 degrees and score at the 4" and 8" marks.  Fold the bottom half up, valley fold and then mountain fold the panels. Open the sheet back up again.

2. Refer to the photo below, using scissors cut along the horizontal scored lines as shown. Use a circle punch to cut a half circle on the lower middle panel. Fold up the album again, notice how cutting the first and third panels you have created instant pages!

In my project, I cut the pages smaller in to create a layered effect.

The middle panel is a pocket, a perfect spot to tuck in a tag to document extra photos or journaling.

Hope this inspires you to do a little mini-album crafting!

A Year In Review Layout | with Virginia

I hope you had a wonderful Holiday season spending it with your loved ones.  2018 year is a wrap! I thought it would be fun to create a Year-in-review page from my puppy's perspective (she just turned 2 a week ago). I created a four-season page design with horizontal bands representing each season.  The horizontal bands are cut from the pretty petite prints dot/stripe papers as the backdrop.  A small scalloped border was added for extra detail and separation between the seasons.

This is a great time to dig into your stash and use up all those cute ephemera bits and pieces that you have been saving!  For my page, cute little elements from the Spring Things, Sweet Summer, Pumpkin Party and Christmas Town were used.

I love that fun shape sprinkles are included with each Doodlebug collection and I'm so addicted to them.  Whee! on this layout I used them across all the seasonal bands!

On this single page, I was able to fit 10 photos, if you are a double-pager scrapbooker, this horizontal design would totally work on a 24x12 footprint. Placing the embellishment clusters and journaling in a staggered pattern encourages your eye to move across and down the page, a wonderful way to stroll down memory lane!

Pool Fun Layout | with Caroli

We have the luck of having a pool in our backyard since a few years. My little girl adores water and this was the perfect gift for her, but with time she realised it wasn't that fun to play at the pool all by herself... until she got a brother!

Last summer my baby boy was almost two years old, so he finally was able to spend pool time with here sister, and they really enjoyed it!

This is the happy memory  I wanted to document in this fun and summery layout, using Sweet Summer collection.

My idea is to have some kind if diagonal design in the page, so I placed the main photo on the top left and then created a little embellishment cluster around it.
I used my fringe scissors to create a  fringe strip on the top to add some volume to the page. Some sewing machine stitching completes the concept, and of course I left some loose thread here and there, I love this effect.
I created a cluster of embellishments with different levels on the bottom right using some Odds&Ends and Chit Chat diecuts, this way the page looks balanced.
For my title I cut the word "pool" using free font Sacramento in white cardstock; when the patterns are too busy or colorful I prefer to use white tittles to make them stand out. I completed my tittle using Abigail alpha in yellow color.
I love how fresh and happy this layout came out, and most importantly, I love it documents some of the pool shenanigans of my little ones, the first summer they got to enjoy pool time together. This is what my journaling is all about here.
I hope you liked this idea and now are inspired to start creating with Sweet Summer collection. Thank you for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Combining Collections for a Fun Layout | with Virginia

Imagine a hot sunny day with kiddos splashing in the pool, the adults too busy chatting to notice the overdone burgers on the grill and then throw in a couple of pooches running around stealing and hiding the kid's toys.  So much going on and yet time held still for a few seconds to record the love between a girl and her dog.
This layout came together very easily because much of it was already done!  No, I didn't get a visit from the scrapbooking fairy, LOL (although sometimes I wish one would!).  Remember those photo props and the chit chat tags I previously made?  I re-used them and created a simple grid design to highlight the photo on my page. So, the whole layout came together using several techniques a combination of the Sweet Summer, Hello and So Punny collection.

For an extra 3D fun effect I layered my photo to give it that extra oomph.  This is done by printing out your photo in the same size 3 times, just trim away 1/8" on all sides each time as you build up to the 3rd layer.
