DOODLEBUG SHAKERS RAINBOW GIFT SET | with Tya

Hi there crafty friends! It was so much fun getting to play with the brand-new D.I.Y Snow Globes this month! I don't know about you, but it has been a little dreary in my neck of the woods and I knew I wanted to brighten things up so I used the super bright and happy "Over the Rainbow" collection and a few Doodle Pops from the "Bunny Hop" collection to create this fun little gift ensemble which includes a snow globe, a cute shaker lid container, and a whimsical Tag Flip!

To make the Snow Globe, I used the 6x6 Rainbow Wishes paper with the cloud background and layered up some Odds and Ends, and the cute "Hello Sunshine" Doodle Pop to make a little sky scene. I added some of the "Gnome Sweet Gnome" 6x6 paper and traced the base of the Snow Globe onto it. I then added it to my Snow Globe base and decorated that section with a cloud, a button tied with some yellow twine, and some cute yellow pom-pom trim to finish it up.

I used the Cupcake, Bubblegum, Ladybug, Tangerine, Bumblebee, Limeade, and Swimming Pool Shaker Balls to fill up the Snow Globe. Aren't they so much fun?

Next, I created this cute little container with a shaker lid! Believe it or not, this is made from a small Pringles Can and a 3-inch plastic ornament half to make the shaker lid. I fell in love with this little technique and can see myself making oodles of these! They are the perfect way to showcase all of my favorite Doodle Pops! They are so fun to fill up too!

To cover my Pringles can, I used a 4 1/2 x 10-inch strip of Over the Rainbow Stripe paper. I then added two of the decorative border strips from the Lucky Me paper. I added the "It's a Rainbow Kind of Day" die cut to the front of the can with some foam tape. I also added some cute yellow pom-pom trim to the top of the border strip along the bottom of the can. Cute colors abound here!

To make the lid, I added some lightweight chipboard strips behind the clouds on the "Hello Sunshine" Doodle Pop. This made it fit well in the dome. I added a 3-inch cardstock circle on top of the plastic lid and then glued the Doodle Pop down with hot glue. I added the Shaker Balls to the dome and then centered the dome on top of the lid. The dome is held onto the top of the lid with hot glue. This is so fun to shake up!

On the inside of the container, I did a quick little tag flip and featured some of my favorite pieces of the "Over the Rainbow" collection. It fit perfectly, ribbons and all, inside the container!

As you can see, the first tag on the page is a shaker tag that was decorated with some pattern papers, and acetate. The shaker balls were a great interactive element for the cover tag on this little flip!

Here are the tags I did! Lots of layering of 6x6 papers, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, and Puffy Stickers!

Getting to play with the Snow Globe and Shaker Balls was such a delight and I am thrilled with how this little set turned out. I plan on giving it to a cute niece of mine to brighten her day! Thank you so much for spending a little time here on the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you have the best day and we will see you all next time! Happy Crafting Friends!

OVER THE RAINBOW TAG BOOK | with Lisa

This week, I was super excited to start working with the new collection called Over the Rainbow. I wasn't sure what I wanted to create but I quickly decided to make a mini album with the tags on the Just for You patterned paper.

This album is not a traditional album with photos, but more of a mini book with 31 pages. I called it "31 Days of Luck", where you can find little lucky and positive quotes for each day in March.  I started by cutting apart both sheets of the Just for You paper. Then I arranged the pages the way I wanted them to go into the book. I matted the cover with a piece a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad, to make it a bit wider than the other pages and then I distressed the edges of all of the pages.

I took out all of the embellishments from the collection and started to decorate the pages one by one, using some quotes from the Chit Chat pack and looking some up on Pinterest to write them down with a black pen. For each page, I then added a number from 1 to 31, using the Alphabet Soup Puffy stickers.

I also used a Doodle pop and a Shaker Pop, which I think give the book a lot of dimension and bulk.  I chose a big blue metal ring to attach all of the pages and then I added a few different ribbons from my stash.

That's it friends. This is a very cool gift for a friend or a family member. You can use positive quotes or also say "thank you". You could use it as a memory keeping booklet and add some journaling spots to the back of each card to write down some memories... Lots of options!  Have a great week!

LET IT SNOW FLIP TAG BOOK | with Wanda

Hi everyone! Are you ready for Christmas yet? Are you baking and shopping and crafting? I'm getting ready and I am absolutely in love with the new Doodlebug Let It Snow Collection! It's fresh and pretty and fun! Cute animals, Snowmen, Santa and Reindeer too - everything you need for the Winter Holidays! For my first project with the new collection, I decided to make a Flip Tag Book! This is such a fun way to use up lots of papers and stickers!

This project started out with lots of fabulous die cut tags. I used the Doodle Cuts Large Tags and Mini Tags Dies and cut out white, kraft, vellum and patterned paper tags. I think there are twelve in all for my book. They are bound together with a binder ring and then decorated with ribbons and a big chunky white jingle bell. I'll walk you through the pages...

For the cover I used the Snow Wonder Shaker Doodle Pop!!! It's adorable!!! I added some hearts and put it on patterned (polka dot) paper.

Here are the pages.... These colors are SO CHEERY! I love aqua pink and red together!

And here are four more pages in my Flip Tag Book!

I made a little shaker tag filled with pretty Doodlebug Sequins. To make this I used a trading card page and my fuse tool. Finished off with a bit of washi tape.

This tag is made from vellum!

Here's the whole book spread out - look at all that yummy color!

And there's Santa on the last page!!! Tis the season to be jolly indeed!

That's it for me today! Hope you're excited to create with the Let It Snow Collection! Can't wait to see more projects from the team. Happy crafting until I see you again soon!
